“Sushi quite expensive”
Reviewed February 5, 2013 via mobile

First time @Raku, and we tried take out Sushi. For the price we paid we found the quality a little disappointing. Even though the tuna was very smooth, the salmon wasn't and had a brown tough side, the shrimps were quite tough as well and I think that all different sizes cut from a roll does not give a proffesional appearance. We aren't big fans of unlimited dining, but for this price I might deside to go eat Sushi in Amstelveen, Mijdrecht or Hoofddorp. It seems like Raku is the place to be for Ramen and that will definitly be my pick next time.

“Japanese quality in a strange place”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

This restaurant is located next to the bus terminal in Uithoorn, with no view to mention, very small tables and quite uncomfortable chairs. The food however is the reason to eat here, for the quality is excellent! Maybe a bit overpriced, but then again they have no competition in the neighbourhood.

“Delicious Authentic Japanese Ramen”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

Nestled among a few Japanese companies in the area of Uithorn near Amstelveen, this family-owned noodle house cater to the Japanese workers in the area looking for authentic Japanese lunch and dinner. Menu is limited to 6 different ramen with choices of either miso (cloudy yellow broth) or shoyu (clear dark soy) base. Few but good side dishes are also available including gzoya (pork dumpling) and chasyu (sliced pork). Opening hour is also limited to 1200 to 1400 for lunch and 1900 to 2200 for dinner.

Despite everything being limited in this tiny eatery, the place is inevitably packed every lunch and dinner time. Price is reasonable, although not of a high value. My personal favorite is the "Chasyu Miso Ramen" a thick, nutty, delicious ramen topped with tender juicy thin sliced pork.
This may be your best bet if you want to taste the best authentic Japanese ramen in the Netherlands.

“What a surprise this place was”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

Excellent food. It was the highlight of our one night stay at a mediocre hotel in the area. While walking to find another restaurant recommended by the hotel, who's restaurant doesn't operate on from Friday to Sunday inclusively, we came across this little gem of a restaurant. They had two terrace table and could accommodate up to 22 customers inside. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the price were reasonable considering that there are so few Japanese/Sushi restaurant in this area.

“Real ramen in the Netherlands!”
Reviewed January 12, 2011

If you miss Japanese ramen, you belong in this small Japanese family-owned restaurant at the outskirts of Amsterdam. They have miso and shoyu base ramen noodle bowls for lunch, and also menu sets. The pork rolls (chashyu) are heavenly, and I've seen them make them from scratch.
