“Fabulous home from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2011

We loved Cairbre House! The setting is beautiful, the welcome warm and friendly and the breakfasts are fantastic. Dungarvan is a good base for exploring and building quite a foodie reputation but take care if you are staying on Sundays and Mondays - most restaurants have last orders at the ridiculously early time of 8pm those nights. Thank you Brian for a lovely stay at your beautiful home.

From the moment we arrived Brian delivered beyond expectations. He works tirelessly ensuring his guests are well attended to.
The breakfast was amazing, and the sleep was very comfortable and cosy.

We loved staying at Cairbre House, but be warned, it is NOT in Waterford, but rather in Dungarvin, thirty miles from Waterford. I chose this place as it was listed as the number 2 place in Waterford, but check your map!
After saying all that, it was a beautiful home, with a couple of unique features that we did not find at any other B & Bs in Ireland. There was an outdoor table and chairs on a terrace overlooking the river and we enjoyed a bottle of wine and watched the sunset. Then, upstairs there is a lovely room with music and books that we enjoyed for the evening. The host, Brian had a wonderful breakfast ready for us the next morning. I highly recommend this B&B!

Cairbre House was our first B&B experience in Ireland. Brian was friendly and quite helpful with local sights and dining. His home is lovely and his gardens exquisite. Upon entering you are treated as a family guest and are comfortable exploring the grounds. My friend and I enjoyed relaxing on the terrace overlooking the river. It was a great way to end a day of sightseeing.

Good position - you can walk into the town for evening meals - nice location by the estuary. We were made very welcome and well looked after.

The setting of Cairbre House, alongside the Colligan River estuary, is truly spectacular and is complimented it's the lovely gardens. These are maintained by the extremely welcoming and helpful proprietor, Brian. His choice of breakfasts are amongst the finest. Rooms are spacious and kept clean. Just be careful when driving out of House as it's a bit tricky. Highly recommended

We stayed at Cairbre House two years ago and again this year what a lovely house, fantastic breakfast and a very enjoyable host Brian. Cannot recommend this enough if you enjoy quaint and homely feeling you must visit.
