“at this price point, brilliant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

Dinner for 4 - mixed nachos and a cheese, charcuterie and salads tasting plate to start, then 2 steak sandwiches with salad, a grain mustard dressing and chips, one pizza, one sizzling chicken with noodles. One glass house white, two coffees. Everything was excellent, made and served with thought and care from good ingredients.

Now the kicker - the bill was 77 Euros. Food at this standard at that price point is very hard to find.

“Just brilliant”

I live in Dungarvan and go here all the time, whether it's just a coffee or a family meal and do be honest you can't go wrong. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff are great. Just a lovely place to have a meal

“Better and Better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Over the years Interlude has grown into an excellent little restaurant .It is situated in an outstanding location -- on the quayside of the small harbour . It features outside tables -- in fine weather it is most enjoyable to linger and soak up the laid back atmosphere of the largely unexploited seaside ancient port .The menu is a little narrow in scope with no surprises. The Vegetarian choices are most satisfactory -- not aiming for the "Boutique Restaurant " standard -- but nobody should go away without a satisfying experience .The staff are typical of the people of Dungarvan -- friendly , accommodating and good humoured .The prices are most affordable and the dishes good value for the money spent . My only complaint after visiting regularly for several years -- the last time there I watched my ice cream arrive at the counter from the kitchen and then get carried around the three parts of the premises before the waitress remembered its destination -- but -- that was on an exceptionally busy day -- when I hadn't booked a table and the staff made extra efforts to fit us in . So -- it is worth booking ! By far the most impressive thing about this establishment is its precious location . Dungarvan is a most unspoilt and as yet undiscovered seaside town . It has generous free parking , a large Farmers Market in the Town square . It has beaches nearby , fast access roads on the route from the port at Rosslare when travelling to the West of Ireland . It lies at the foot of the Comeragh mountains and adjoins the Irish speaking Gaeltacht area around Ring-- hence a great local tradition of pub music and the occasional cultural event . Well worth stopping over and exploring when visiting Ireland -- for a taste of something now largely lost in other , more "developed " places .

“Such an embarrassing let down”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014 via mobile

4 of us had a meal, brought in two friends who were staying with us for the weekend, it was their first meal and first time in Dungarvan. We had soup that was like paste just slapped down before us with no saucer, bread or spoon! Had to ask for bread and spoon. My friends chicken burger didn't arrive as stated on menu. She got a dry piece of chicken in between a dry bun. The chef forgot to cook my partners meal which arrived when we were more than half way through ours. The penne pasta was tasteless and my chicken fajita was drowned in sauce. I used to love this restaurant but this experience was a joke. Not even one apology. Rude waitress like Yvonne from fair city. GOODBYE INTERLUDE.
