We went to The Tannery with friends who live locally. It is busy, buzzy and friendly. The food is excellent - the crispy egg starter was particularly good. Local fish and shellfish and good pork.
The restaurant has a more informal wine bar downstairs which was also packed. On the Saturday evening we were there it was quite warm but not uncomfortably so. The building has been well converted and retains the character of the original tannery. A short walk from the quay it is well located in an attractive town.
One small criticism - we arrived on time and our table was not ready. There was nowhere to wait that was not in everyone's way in such a busy place.
