Very clean modern hotel. Extremely helpful staff. Great for families. We have two children aged 12 and 9, we had connecting rooms which worked well for us. Kids pool, spa, sauna and gym in the basement, all clean and a bonus as the weather was chilly. The continental breakfast was plentiful and tasty. View of Lake Garda from our balcony. Use of facilities of Bella Italia camp site , swimming pools (although very cold in April), supermarket, children's entertainment and restaurants. Peschiera del Garda centre took approx 20 mins to walk into along the promenade. We caught the train from Peschiera del Garda to Venice, which was very reasonable on the regional service and took under 2 hours. Only reason we haven't given an excellent rating for the hotel is due to the fact the downstairs pool and spa were out of action for half of our stay for refurb, which we were not informed of until we went down to use it.

Room Tip: We stayed in connecting rooms 113 and 115 which overlooked the outside pool and had the sun in the m...

We stayed in the Tulipano apartments beside Hotel Bella Italia in July 2012. We had a one bed apt for ourselves and our 2 year old. It was basic enough but clean and a good size with kettle, kitchen utensils, etc supplied. Its a five minute walk to the Lake itself but they're right beside the hotel and the hotel pool which was a lot quieter than the campsite pools plus there were always sun loungers available. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice for a continental breakfast. The waitresses were always very friendly and helpful, one especially always had time to talk to our little boy. There's also a little supervised playroom beside the breakfast room....just perfect for the little ones while you eat.
The whole Bella Italia site is ideal for families with loads of activities for different age groups going on all the time. Plus theres a few different restaurants for differents tastes and budgets. Theres also a supermarket with everything under the sun plus a Lidl not too far away if you 'd prefer to do some shopping there.
But just be careful when booking as we didn't know that we would have to pay for cleaning/towels @ €20 per change. It was our fault as we hadn't read the smallprint!!!
We can't wait to go back!

We were very pleasantly surprised to find an perfect hotel for us. We have a 2-year old boy who is running around a lot and needs to be occupied.

Advantages of the hotel:
Rooms (and the hotel overall) are clean and the bathroom was large and spacious (We took a 2-persons room and were on the first floor)
The staff is very friendly and helpful (There was a receptionist named Florin-an excellent host, he helped us a lot, was very attentive and had great suggestions and advise regarding places to visit)
Playroom for kids suitable for apprx ages 0-8years. The best part is that it is just next to the dinning room and it has glass walls so you can eat peacefully while you see your child play
Heated indoor swimming pool for kids (Also a great outdoor s.p but was too cold for us in Sept)
Good choice of restaurants withing short walking distance, all are kids friendly
5 minutes to the lake (by walking)

Good parking space
Evening events for kids till about 10pm in the camping area next to the hotel

So, it is needless to say, we loved the hotel and would defenitely come back

My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights about 2 years ago. We stayed there only for the nights as we traveled all day across north Italy.
The room was basic, not so fancy but enough for us. Our suitcase was lost in the flight to Italy so we had to buy the Linens in the hotel.

In the complex you have a supermarket and 2 big restaurants. We ate at one of them and it was great! The service is great and the food was delicious.

The hotel situated in peschiera del garda – a city on water – a magical place that we loved every minute we spent there. In the town center you have a train station and bus stop that takes you anywhere you wish. We traveled by buses and trains so it was very comfortable for us.
I think that when we were there they didn’t have the pool so I think it’s a really good edit for families.

Our third trip to this wonderful site with fantastic amenities, undermined by being woken up every night by noise from the accommodation above our apartment.

Hotel Bella Italia is one small part of a large campsite which comprises many different types of accommodation from tents to 4* hotel rooms and everything in between. In August there are around 7000 people staying on the site at any one time. The beauty of the hotel is that you can use all the amenities of the site ( approx 7 swimming pools, 2 small kids amusement areas with quad biking, little boats, bouncy castles etc, supermarket, 3 restaurants etc.) but you also get to use the hotel swimming pool which is lovely, has great sun loungers and critically is restricted to hotel guests and as a consequence is not crowded. Also you get breakfast and room cleaning services.

We love the camp site, the atmosphere and the location which is stunning. It sits right on the edge of the lake and you'd travel a long way to find more beautiful scenery. It’s a 20 min walk with kids along a beautiful lakeside street to the town of Peschiera which again is very pretty and has several lovely restaurants. There are regular trains to Verona, Milan and Venice and connections to everywhere. Italian trains are unbelievably cheap. A one way, 90min train ride to Venice for two adults and two children was 26 euros in total!

The Hotel offers two different types of accommodation. Traditional Hotel rooms which you share with the kids, with cleaning every day, or 9 apartments called Tulipano, which have two rooms and a bathroom. There's a bedroom with a double bed, a separate living room with a kitchen and two pull out beds for the kids, and a bathroom. Cleaning once a week as standard. You can pay for extra cleaning. We stayed in these apartments for 2 weeks @145 euros a night.

So to the bad news.

First the noise. Apartment Tulipano, number 9. Above these apartments there is accommodation for the young people who work on the site putting on the evening shows and organising some of the kids activities. Directly above apartment 9 is a communal kitchen. The noise below which begins about midnight and continues through till about 3 or 4 am is enough to wake you up and keep you awake. It's not really the fault of the people living there, the problem is the floor which has no sound insulation whatsoever. There's no ceiling in the apartment so you can actually see the floorboards on which the people above are walking. Every footstep and every movement of a chair or table is sufficient to wake you up and keep you awake for hours. We complained to the hotel staff on several occasions and on one occasion I went up and spoke directly to the people up there at 4.00am, but nothing changed. 2 weeks costs 2030 euros and I managed one night’s undisturbed sleep.

Simply not good enough.

The accommodation above needs carpeting as a minimum and ideally it needs a plasterboard ceiling putting in the apartment with some sound insulation between the ceiling and the floorboards of the room above.

Unfortunately I can't comment on the other tulipano apartments other than to say I had a good look at the accommodation above and it extended the length of the building. The potential for noise exists, but if the rest of the accommodation above has a carpet or some other means of sound insulation things may be different in the other apartments.

Second problem with the accommodation was the air conditionng which seemed to work reasonably through the day but not during the night. So sleepless nights in a sauna. Not good.

Finally and anecdotally a friend of ours who we met there wanted to print off his boarding cards for the flight home and was refused. Disgraceful.

There's lots of good news.

Stunning scenery.
The hotel pool. Lovely and not crowded, great sun loungers
The site in general. Great atmosphere, good restaurants, loads to do for the kids,
Activities on the lake. Pedalos, parasailing, water skiing, speed boat hire etc etc
Beautiful lakeside walk into Peschiera.
Gardaland amusement park nearby. At least as good as Eurodisney. Tickets via the hotel are a bargain at 25 euros each.
Cablecar at Malcesine. Breath-taking views, great hiking, great mountain biking
Weather this year was stunning!

A word also for the breakfast staff who are lovely. The reception staff were nice and listened sympathetically to the problems but were unable to get anything done about them.

So overall very good. Apartment poor/average, the rest excellent. Sort out the noise and the air-conditioning and it would be unequivocally excellent.

Room Tip: If you stop in the Tulipano appartments make sure you don't get appartment 9. Ask about the nois...

We spent 6 nights here in this excellent hotel attached to camping peschiera del garda. The hotel was immaculate, relaxing poolside, great bar service and restaurant attached served first rate food, excellent value and personal service, had my daughter's 9th birthday there and the staff made it special. Must mention the reception staff, bar staff, breakfast staff and cleaners who were first rate! So helpful, knowledgeable and pleasing! We will definately return to the lakes and to hear and would recommend this to EVERYONE!

Room Tip: didn't request it but ground floor adjacent to pool was fantastic surprise,

As other positive reviews have tried to underline, the hotel, though located on the Bella Italia site is an entity in its own right.
The site is large and busy and not to everyone's taste but the hotel offers tranquility in the midst of all of this while also allowing the opportunity to avail of the adjoining facilities throughout the rest of the site - the pools, the restaurants etc. It may not be plush, more like a good aparthotel, but is maintained to a high standard and is meticulously clean with daily servicing of rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super continental breakfast to start the day and no sun bed problems at the hotel pool. Great value for the very high standard of service, facility for children to stay in inter-connecting room to that of adults at 50% of cost.
Probably best suited to couples on their own or with younger children. If you like the rest of the site too, that's a bonus!!

Room Tip: Those on the pool side and on first or second floor quieter than others
