“Beautiful location, shame about the weather!”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Have just got back from a week in a 3 bed/2 bath Villagrand Deluxe Mobile Home booked with Keycamp: Our first stay in a caravan.

Keycamp were excellent from start to finish both in the UK and in Italy. Will definitely book with them again and highly recommend!

Verona is a lovely town and only 45 minutes by bus. Be warned that the buses only run every hour in all directions. Even to the train station! Sirmione is also very scenic and only 15 minutes by bus and you can also get a boat over. Sea Life Aquarium not worth the entry price.

Positives: stunning lakeside scenery, canoe and pedal boat hire available, huge park with lots of free activities and good facilities eg sports (ping pong, archery), supermarket (large selection at reasonable prices), shops, tabacconists, ice cream parlour (great choice of flavours), launderette etc.

Negatives: no duvets in van (only blankets), no central heating (only electric) and due to horrendous weather was really needed, no indoor swimming pool (5 outdoor ones but only 3 had water in them), not all facilities open yet (eg spray park, sun park etc), laundry very expensive to wash and dry at 4.50€ each!

Overall very happy with first holiday at a campsite but would definitely recommend a car to avoid the nasty taxi drivers!

We stayed in a bungalow through keycamp and it was very nice. Only downside no oven, microwave or frying pan so we had to eat out which doesn't always suit us we have two young children. The take away service from the camp restaurants is very good. At this time of year children's clubs are not running be aware of this if you are used to the keycamp service. The weather was cold but we used this campsite as a base for exploring the area and it was fantastic. We got a bus to Verona about 50 mins and we got a train to Venice about 80 mins. Both brilliant days out. We also went to Sirmione which was 10 mins on the bus a beautiful little town with a lovely castle and Roman fort. I don't doubt that this campsite would be extremely busy at peak times and I'm not sure I would enjoy that. Other then that beautiful area, very well maintained and we will be back.

Room Tip: Bungalow has air conditioning and heating.

We stayed here at Easter for the second time, the location is great for exploring Italy and we visited Venice by train from peschiera. The mobile homes are spacious and well equipped, and the restaurants on site are great.

Room Tip: If travelling early in the season ie Easter make sure you have heating in the accomadation.

We have never revisited a family holiday destination, but as our children begged to go back, we made an exception for Bella Italia Campsite. It is simply fantastic for families; our kids range in age from 11 to 16 and they all had a wonderful time. There are so many great things about Bella Italia, so here are my highlights....stunning location, proximity to beautiful Peschiera del Garda, pools, Diego's bar, gelataria, Theme parks, excellent restaurants, football pitch, banana rides, fireworks. You don't need a car as there is a free shuttle bus to Gardaland, bus service to Verona/Brescia outside gates and station within walking distance. We got the train to Venice and bus to Verona, both trips were easy and cheap. We have stayed in 15 campsites with Keycamp/Eurocamp and Bella Italia is the best.

I stayed with my family in a bungalow for 6 persons (2 bed room, living room and small kitchen)
The place is very nice and well organized
The location is great right near the lake and has all you need in terms of facilities (supermarket, bar, restaurant, playing facilities for kids)
The service is very good, I had problems with the heating and I got very quick response and fix

Big campsite, lovely people, great location, great accomodation... What more can I say? This place it great for families to enjoy themselves for summer! The weather is hot, plenty of entertainment for the children all over the place, pools, games, ping-pong, sport, EVERYTHING! This has to be one of the best campsites I have ever been to that is great for value, not only for the accomodation but also the shops and restaurants. If you get a chance to go, I would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Lake is at the bottom of the campsite, It's great!

We visited Bella Italia for our summer holiday, and I was concerned about getting from the airport to the camp site without having to hire a car. With 2 adults and 2 children (10 and 12).
Very easy to get from Verona airport to Peschiera by train. There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the airport to the train station (cost of single ticket is 4.50 euros each and they run every 20 mins and takes approx 15 mins to the station). The trains run every 15-20 mins, and a return ticket costs 2.35 euros each. It was a very small taxi ride from the train station to the camp site
We have used Eurocamp extensively over the years and thought we'd try one of the bungalows for a change. We were VERY disappointed. No cooker, just a hob and small fridge. My son cut his eye VERY badly on the card that sticks out of the airconditioning unit (its situated in the hallway just outside the kids room, so as they come out - it is just at their eye level. He was lucky he wasnt blinded and still has the scar after 2 years (eurocamp didnt care, they asked us to fill out an accident form but we never heard a thing back).

The place itself is very lovely but extremely busy in high season, and everyone is fighting for a space either by the pool or on the "beach". I would visit again out of season and definately NOT IN A BUNGALOW. It is a nice stroll down to the main town (along the lake front).

The restaurants were of a good standard and two or three times a week there was a musician at the restaurant by the lake, which was lovely to listen to (although you wont get a seat at the bar!).

I would recommend this location though.

Room Tip: Dont go for the bungalow.
