“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in May 2014 as part of the Trafalgar Splendors of Italy tour. The hotel was our jumping off point for Venice, and we had a bus to take us to the boat. But the public bus stop was in front of the hotel, so getting to the station to Venice wouldn't be too difficult. Mira was a beautiful small town, with a canal running down the main road, and lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel is clean and the staff very helpful. We mentioned going for a walk and the front desk clerk volunteered a 1/2 mile path that led along the canal to great gelato. Our room was large to accommodate 3 of us sharing, and the balcony made it easy for us to wash and dry cloths. The hotel offers a washer and dryer on each floor available for a small fee. The breakfast was the only thing lacking, and the 2 person staff trying to serve 2 tour groups was part of the problem.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the road, to avoid traffic and bus noise.

Yes hotel is dated but you can tell they spent some money in this hotel back in the day. No free wifi but is cheap enough. There is a Bus stop in front of hotel to Venice and a small local supermarket just within walking distance away. Breakfast selection is reasonable and set tour dinner tasted okay as well. Toilet was a bit small and toilet seat can stay up cause there is no room for it to stay up. No AC and opening windows.

We stayed at this hotel on our trafalgar tour. this hotel was very dated. room smelled very musty, so i left the balcony door open most of the night for some fresh air. bathroom was decent size. hair dryer was horrible! looked like a vacuum. I had free wifi in the room.

We stayed in this hotel as part of our Trafalgar Tour - stayed for 2 nights. It was quite a ride from the water part of Venice. Our room was quite dated but it was so charming with old fixtures - the only problem was it was hot in the room - no air con (or we just didn't know how to turn it on). The bathroom was spacious and the sheets are clean. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night - it was average but maybe that's normal for the included dinners of the tour. The free wifi was the best one we had throughout the tour so that was a plus.

hotel is about 30 mins by bus from Venice. Bus stop conveniently located in front of hotel and bus ticket can be obtained from the front desk at 6 Euros for 2 way. However ticket should be only about 5 Euros. Small town with supermarket just 200m away. Hotel is dated and staff are quite old as well. Breakfast selection is limited but dinner was reasonable. Room is not big and there is not much walking space for a triple sharing room. Toilet was however of a reasonable size. Toilet door was hard to close and scrapping against the floor, very irritating.

... you keep your expectations realistic!

Burchiello is a hotel in the Town of Mira/Oriago. If you are visiting the Brenta Canal or on business in the area is ideal!

The rooms are good, mind you they are different in size and quality, something very common in family/no chains European Hotels. If you find you are not happy with your hotel talk to the reception staff: I'm sure they will offer other solutions! Thru are fantastic!

The towels are: the Italian towels widely use in Italy! They do dry a person easily and dry in no time! Com'on complainers: it is an Italian hotel: it has Italian towels! As simply as that!

Breakfast is very good for Italian standards: usually Italians have just a cold continental: they have omelette and more!

Dinner: they have 2 restaurants: the one on the breakfast room: it is fur a quick dinner or to cater for groups but across the street they have a great top food restaurant! You have to eat there: fish and seafood is fantastic!

Yes! If I am visiting Venice, it is rather far, but mainly are only coach tour travellers that use it for Venice, and as far as I know they have full schedules and only come to the hotel to sleep!

I think Burchiello is charming! I even like the towels!

Stayed here as part of our European Cavalcade Tour for 2 nights. In our experience, the worst hotel of the tour. Got dropped off at the hotel early as we decided not to join an optional extra tour. Far out from Venice with not much around except a small supermarket and gelato store within walkable distance. The rooms are so small and old - a smell of Grandma's house. The shower even smaller. Hairdryer fell apart when attempting to use. No free WiFi. No tea or coffee making facilities in room, though staff were happy to supply hot water when requested. Included dinner was basic, main meal size inconsistent. Reasonable breakfast though unable to keep up with demands of serving a tour group. Had laundry facilities but many machines not working. Hotel towels like table cloths. Given the poor location and rooms, would not stay here again.
