We reserved here after having a previous negative experience driving in Florence. This was the perfect choice to visit Florence with limited turmoil and expense. It is a family run hotel with small, but clean rooms and a better than average Tuscan restaurant. (Two different tradition soups on the menu became quick favorites.) The hotel staff is both welcoming and very helpful even before you arrive by making reservations at the major museums of Florence upon request without charge. The bus to Florence leaves about a block away from the hotel and delivers you back to the same location once you have spent you day amongst the masters of Renaissance Art. The town is quiet, limited shopping, but offers access to great Chianti Wines, Tuscan Olive Oil, and the world famous terracotta kilns. WIFI and air conditioning very functional.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side of hotel were quieter.

Dear Senior653, thank you so much for your riview!!! It's really nice picturing you being in Florence "amongst the master of Renaissance Art" and then back at Bellavista using our WIFI and air conditioning, enjoying our food & Chianti wine and our relaxing small town.

Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable accommodations, and very nice food.
About that food: The ravioli with truffle sauce was exquisite. The bisteca was tender, flavorful, and huge. Peposa with cannellini was richly satisfying (although the second time I ordered it, spicier than the first time.) The house red wine is very good. Attentive service. And unusually spacious compared to other other area restaurants. There is also outdoor seating, and the views add to the experience.
Thank you Matteo, Martine, Beppe, Roberta, Paulo, and Tommaso - what a family! Big hearts, boundless energy, and very attentive.

Our stay at the BellaVista was an absolutely delightful experience. My friend and I came for the festival and had a wonderful time. Matteo and his family certainly have mastered the art of hospitality, and went out of their way on the busiest night of their year to help us get to Florence. And the food.......OMG!!!
My only question is.....who won?? We loved the parade and dances and hope to return for a longer stay. Thank you for a wonderful end to our Italian holiday.

This was the most welcoming hotel and family in all of Italy. We came at a very busy time for them and yet Matteo and Martine and their parents were amazing!! This was a true taste of Italy and next time we will stay longer and use this delightful hotel for a base. The food/restaurant was excellent as well.

After the festival which was so much fun and highly recommended (like nothing in the US), our pre-arranged car didn't show up. The family wasn't able to get a taxi for us from Florence and it started raining cats and dogs. They bought us bus tickets and took us to the pick up and waited. When the bus was delayed, the father took us into the bus station in Florence (on their busiest night of the year). Matteo and Martine speak excellent English and the parents did better with their English than we did with Italian.

I would highly recommend this lovely town and great hotel for a true taste of Tuscany!

Room Tip: There are stairs to negotiate which might be a consideration.

My daughter and I stayed at the Albergo Bellavista for two nights in July, 2012, on the recommendation of the hotel staff at our previous hotel (Siena). We could not have been more pleased! The gracious family that runs this hotel and restaurant absolutely personify hospitality. Our room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was particularly nice, done in beautiful green marble. We also ate at the restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The zucchini flowers were perfect, and the pasta and veal were excellent as well. A special treat were the locally produced olive oil and wine. If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience and not just a typical tourist stop, this is the place. Impruneta is close enough to Florence to make it your home base, but just far enough outside the city to insulate it from the hoards of tourists. A comfortable, air-conditioned bus stops just across the street from the hotel and will have you in Florence in about 20 minutes. Conveniently, it runs every 30 minutes. It was 4.5 euro for a round trip, and you can buy your tickets on board or at the front desk of the hotel. The picturesque views of the surrounding area as you drive into Florence are worth the ride.

Our great grandfather, Gisuseppe Becucci, who started in the restaurant business with his family in 1906, began by serving simple yet delicious meals to the people who were passing through Impruneta and the Chianti area on their journey between Florence and Siena. In those days, the travelers, who were traveling by horse or on foot, started requesting not only a good meal but also a place to rest along their tiring journey.
