The 3rd time now (over 18 months) that we've had a great meal at this small and cosy restaurant in the little village of Mensano. Last night 8 of us were treated to a wonderful display of Roberto's sisters cooking - from the crostini, superbly fried vegetables (amazing pumpkin) and cold meat antipasto selection, through ravioli w ragu antico, field greens soup, pork spareribs, sauteed wild field greens and desserts - to die for tiramisu and chocolate salami (thin slices of cylindrical dark chocolate and small imbedded biscotti pieces) - everything was great. The most delightful dish however was the pear and cheese pasta - similar to tortellini, but more delicate. All accompanied by an extremely drinkable 2009 vino nobile. Roberto's service was delightful - even taking us into the kitchen to explain the preparation / cooking of one of the dishes. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting - a hidden gem.
