“A TRUE Tuscan evening in a medeival Tuscan village”
Reviewed July 13, 2012 via mobile

Every summer we spend some time near a village called Casole Delsa positioned between Florence, Siena and San Giminano.  One of the joys  of the village is Caffe Casolani, where we regularly have our coffee by a table in the street, sometimes linger late to have lunch and periodically have dinner.

the dinner is approximately 25 euros for a  fixed 4 course dinner which is expertly cooked  with choice ingredients. It is excellent value for money.
However a  little known secret is , that with a couple of days notice you can actually  ask the chef to cook something special for you, this will cost approximately 10 euros extra and will represent value far above the payment.
Christine is a talented chef and is particularly good with fish.

last night we attended their regular  jazz evenings, had a superb 3 course fish dinner  specially cooked for us, plus a delicious choclate based desert, a bottle of wine bottled water and coffee,  listened to an excellent jazz group, all for 90 euros.
The atmosphere is absolutely romantic with candles on the white table cloth, a pleasing breeze through the narrow street, watching the people walk the trafficless street listening to the piano and the saxophone.
a cherished evening which I fully recommend.

“Simply delicious”
Reviewed June 13, 2012 via mobile

We have dinner here every time we come to Tuscany and it's always terrific. Don't be put off by the fixed menu - there is something for everyone and it's delicious!
The wines are great too and very good value. Overall it's like eating in Italian home. Everyone should try it.

“Excellent local food at a great price”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

This is a charming restaurant. A simple 4 course menu, no choice, but really flavourful and well cooked. Excellent local wine at a very good price. Very friendly. Recommended !

We had booked for 8 of us and because the weather was a bit changeable they had laid up a table both outside and inside - very thoughtful.

“Superb italian cooking and child friendly”
Reviewed July 9, 2010

This smallish classy restaurant is well worth visting in the lovely village of Casole D'Elsa. There is a lovely chilled atmosphere. It only has one set menu (plus a vegetarian one) of four courses but the food is sublime and not too expensive (around 30 euros a head). The wine list is good an equally not too pricey. They will happily do a two course version for chldren and a pasta dish etc for babies. Nothing was too much of a problem.
