We went together with 14 Australians hiking in the Piedmont slow food area of Italy in October to experience a most stimulating and gustatory delightful trip around the mountains and valleys of the area. The 2 guides were incredibly well informed and helpful even when some of the hikes slowed us down. Their knowledge of food, wine and countryside was unexcelled.

Just finished a wonderful week walking in parma, tuscany and cinque terre. Never been so well fed and cared for. Terrific countryside and historic sites. Great company to share the experience. I'll be checking out the 2014 calendar of walks fir next year's holiday.

My sixth trip with Hedonistic Hiking and more to come! What a wonderful week spent in Siena with Jackie and 8 others. I really did feel that Jackie immersed me in Italian culture and the unique experience of the Palio and all that it offers for the week. Jackie also took us on walks in the Tuscany countryside, cooking lessons, wine tasting, superb picnic lunches and with a group whom 7 of us were all Hedonistic Hiking returnees! I think that says it all. Thanks again Jackie.

Having just returned from my sixth trip with Hedonistic it won't be any surprise to hear that they get the highest rating possible from me. The owners, Jackie and Mick will not run a trip unless they have personally researched and planned it in detail, and of course no trip runs unless at least one of them leads it. As a result the quality of the whole experience is apparent in every respect.

Although you can walk as much or as little as you want this is a walking holiday and you will miss much of the camaraderie that develops from walking and eating together throughout the trip if you don't get those feet moving. You don't need to be equipped to tackle the north face of the Eiger but do read the trip notes to ensure you have the right kit. If you think it might be too challenging I have walked with folk in their 70's and 80's.

I have travelled in Tuscany, Umbria, Emiliga Romagna, Abruzzo, Piedmont and to the Palio with the company and all of the trips have provided a wonderful insight into the local food, wine, art and culture of each region. The Palio is a very special trip!

Over the past twelve years I have been privileged to travel to a number of wonderful parts of the world and have enjoyed being looked after by some great guides. There are many other places to visit but one trip that is a fixture in my diary every year is the one with Hedonistic. The hoildays are at the top end but you will find it very difficult once you arrive to spend anything. Add up the extras on other holidays and you probbaly won't be far off the cost of these trips. You won't find better folk to look after you on your walking holiday.
