“Amazing Experience”

Our stay at Piombaia was part of our honeymoon, and it made our experience in Tuscany unforgettable. This is a cozy family owned property and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. But there were several other factors that made our stay here enjoyable. Although we did not spend much time in our room, it was quite spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and living room in addition to our bedroom. All the rooms including the bathroom had picturesque views of the Tuscan countryside. All that you would imagine you would see in Tuscany you could see from our room, with beautiful vineyards, farmhouses, and cypress trees dotting the landscape. We got a lovely tour and wine tasting at their main vineyard. We also sampled their organic olive oil and both their wines and olive oil were excellent. Piombaia is also located only a mile or two from Montalcino, and renting a car is probably the best way to get around, not only to visit Montalcino but other towns nearby such as Montepulciano and Pienza.

The staff is not present there all the time but they do provide a number if you need any service. We did not have a cell phone but it wasn't a problem for us.

We only spent two nights here but would have loved to spend more to be able to explore more of the surrounding area and spend more time relaxing at Piombaia. We traveled to other areas of Italy including Florence and Amalfi Coast in addition to Paris, but it is very hard to beat sitting in our room, sharing an excellent bottle of wine and tasty cheese while watching the sunset with someone you love. We will definitely stay here again if we return!

We were a group of 16 people, 8 adults and 8 childern. Unfortunally, we stayed only for a week-end in Piombaia, but it could had lasted for weeks, as nice has the site been.

The agriturismo is really nice, cultivated and well-kept, located in the midlle of the region of Montalcino. The appartements are quite amply and well furnished. Just if you want to cook big menus on your own, the kitchen would be a little too small - but who wants to cook for his own if he could eat at the osteria of the agriturismo? The osteria was small, but also really nice and tipical.

I can also recommend the wines of Piombaia, the brunello is a great wine, not only for the taste, but also for the price. An the second wine "gatto nero" is really a good choice.

This family villa in the heart of Tuscany is the perfect place to stay while enjoying the experience of Tuscany. The accomodations, the family, the restaurant, the ambiance of Tuscany was far more than we anticipated while on holiday in Italy. I will most definitely stay again on my 3rd trip to Italy. Viva la Piombaia!

Lovely place perfect for making trips to wineries in Montalcino region and tasting Brunello or Rosso di Montalcino. Quiet place with very friendly service. The restaurant doesn't disturb guests and provides opportunity to enjoy a dinner with wine without driving to the city. We also like the wine Gato Nero.

Piombaia was everything I expected and more. The agriturismo, which is very quaint, is a few minutes away by car from Montalcino and easy to find. Even though we arrived after hours we were accommodated immediately. They arranged dinner for us in town at Al Giullare (I highly recommend for dinner).
The staff is unbelievably friendly and we couldn’t be more grateful to them for making our stay unforgettable.
We were there late June, so weather was a bit crisp. Our room, located on a higher floor, was clean, spacious, and had amazing views from every window – even the bathroom. When you walk around the property you can’t help to be submerged in the smell of lavender and jazmine.
We took advantage of the wine tasting offered to the guests. Cecilia was very knowledgeable about the wine and the Tuscan region itself.
We bought a few bottles of their Brunello that arrived intact to their destiny.

If you are looking for a relaxing stay in Tuscany, this is the place to be. I cant wait to go back.
Thank you Vittorio and Cecilia ; )

My best friend of and I took off on a trip to Venice, Tuscany and Rome for 10 days. We chose this location to be in the heart of Tuscany and to sample the Brunello wines, as I had previously been to and stayed in the Chianti wine area). We wanted a place a bit off the beaten path where we could see how the locals lived, and to enjoy the beautiful back roads and countryside. We were not looking for a fancy hotel, but rather a charming and casual inn or B&B. This place was exactly what we were looking for and absolutely perfect for us. We stayed 5 nights but could have stayed longer. It was close enough to some of the larger cities and towns, yet we could come home to our home away from home each day. We also enjoyed just staying on the beautiful grounds and enjoyed sitting by the pool for some relaxation as well. Vittorio and his staff were wonderful; he even stopped by our room to share a glass of wine with us, telling us of some places to go out to see. We had a two bedroom upstairs apartment, with a small cooking area, which we did use. I can't recall the bathroom area exactly, and we aren't real picky when traveling other countries, but it was clean and sufficient for two women to get showered and prettied up for the day. There was a nice small balcony area to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and some snacks while we relaxed and took in the amazing view of the grounds. I can still feel that moment! Having arrived towards the end of the day, we ate dinner in their restaurant and while I can't recall too much of the meal (since we were so exhausted from our drive from Venice), I can tell you their wine was wonderful. It was also very convenient to be able to trot on over to the restaurant whenever we wanted to buy a bottle or two to take back to our room as well. The town was only moments away by car and we really enjoyed the restaurants there. There was a grocery store where we bought some food for the room as well. If I ever make it back to Tuscany, I will definitely stay here again!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.

My wife and two children (10/12yrs) met friends of ours from NY and their two children for four nights at Piombaia. Vittorio was very helpful in setting up our reservations and was there to greet us when we arrived. The rooms were spacious and clean...very comfortable. The views were outstanding..I think the best view was out of our shower window! Piombaia offers stunning views of Montalcino and is a great area for quiet walks through the vinyards.
We are already planning a return trip in 2011. We plan to stay a week and are looking forward to reconnecting with Vittorio and enjoying some of their exceptional wine!
