“Memorable visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2014

We made an appointment for a tour and tasting with Daniele D'Antoni. Having a personal tour is definitely the way to go. As other reviews say, Daniele is very knowledgeable and friendly - a great ambassador for Castello Romitorio. The tasting was great - we ordered several bottles and have already received them - in perfect shape. Can't wait to taste them again! Thank you for a memorable visit, Daniele.

“The perfect blend of Brunello and art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We arrived late for our scheduled visit, yet were very warmly welcomed by Daniele, who apologized that the winery would close in 45 minutes due to the impending long weekend.
Having seen several wineries already the same day, we decided to skip the tour of the production side of things, and went directly into the tasting.
The Romitorio wines are not the ordinary style that you expect, yet highly rated, very good and it was a real eye-opener.
I look forward to returning, and taking the time to see some more of the incredible art that we missed, as well as trying future vintages!
Thank you, Daniele!

“A frown flipped upside down...Brunello di Montalcino!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

My wife, very much wanting to sample brunello di Montalcino, found Castello Romitorio and convinced me we should hit the road early en route to Montepulciano to pay a visit. Granted, we had no appointment and limited directions on how to find this winery (visitors be warned, it is off the beaten path and a bit difficult to locate). After the frustration of being lost, we finally found Castello Romitorio and were greeted by a very nice representative. Unfortunately, he informed us that he had an upcoming appointment with another couple and that we would not have the opportunity to taste the wine or really see the property. He did, however, welcome us to walk around the perimeter of the castle home and enjoy the view - a truly gorgeous property!

On our way back to the car I suggested to my wife we just purchase a bottle so that we could at least enjoy some brunello. Upon inquiring, the representative informed us that he would not be willing to sell us a bottle without having us first taste the product - he would be ashamed if he sold a bottle to us and we did not end up enjoying it (talk about pride!!!). That is when he suddenly flipped my wife's frown upside down and invited us in to sample a glass. His appointment was running a bit late and instead of leaving us to find our way to our next stop, he created a magic moment and made our day.

One side note - the owner of the property is also a well known artist - there is plenty of sculpture and art on the property to explore as well as the wine!

If you too find yourself wanting to sample brunello di Montalcino, I recommend making an appointment at Castello Romitorio, get a little bit lost en route, and enjoy a fantastic glass of wine at a gorgeous property!

“Thanks for the fantastic experience, Daniele!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

We scheduled a tour, wine tasting and lunch at Catello Romitorio with Daniele D'Antoni and could not be more pleased with the experience. We toured the grounds of the castle on a windy day and enjoyed a delicious lunch with amazing Brunellos and Super Tuscans along with their spicy oil olive. Thank you, Daniele D'Antoni for the special day!

“Great wine and Olive Oil”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

We happened onto the Castello Romitorio while touring Montalcino. We mad a reservation the day of our visit. Daniele D'Antoni made our stop both interesting and memorable. He was intelligent, personable, and taught us alot about wine. We bought and shipped their Brunello, and Super Tuscan wine and Olive oil since the tasting of all and the tour left a wonderful taste in our mouthes.

Great place, people and wine! what more are you looking for in Montalcino?
