Wonderful view and great wine list. Some special limited vintages available by the glass. Good adult meals. Perhaps lacking for a family.

It is a terrible shame for the chef at this establishment that the wonderful food is spoiled by the awful service.
The insistence of the owner/manager in taking all the orders meant that we were waiting nearly 40 minutes for our desserts and coffee. This is after waiting 15 minutes to order them. I feel very sorry for the waitresses who I'm sure are quite capable. After asking for the bill without having had our dessert he then made an ugly scene insisting we pay for something we didn't have.

True, the view is wonderful if you are by the window, the food was good (except for dessert, more of which later) and the wine selection excellent and reasonably priced.
However, after waiting 45 minutes for a sorbet and an ice-cream dessert we had the termerity to ask for our food as we had a long drive and it was now 9.40pm and we had been in the restaurant 2 and a half hours for two courses. This made the owner irate. My son, a young man who had taken us there especially and was kindly paying for the meal told him we had to leave, the owner said he would have to charge us for the desserts (which still had not arrived), my son said that was not right and the owner speedily threatened to call the police although no voices had been raised; we said "What!" I felt he was simply bullying my son and said I would pay the whole bill so that we could leave this dreadful atmosphere and then he flounced about and gave us a new bill which did not include the desserts anyway. It all left "a very nasty taste in the mouth" and I cannot recommend this place personally. An apology and an explanation would have defused the situation, instead of which I have felt it necessary to write this criticism.

We stumbled upon this restaurant 3 years ago and were glad to find it again with our family this trip. The view is amazing overlooking the Tuscany valley below. The food is delicious and a contemporary take on Tuscan fare. Of course the wine selection is wonderful and the owner very friendly and knowledgable. Not to be missed !

This is the bet place in Montalcino where you can have a great bottle of Brunello with an amazing view. The food is not exciting but does the job, you won't be disappointed. The restaurant is modern and the wine selection is out of this world. We wanted to try a top Brunello and he recommended a 2001 Brunello "tenuta la Fuga" called "le due sorelle"... Great bottle a t a good price considering that is a 12 years old Barolo (100euro)... The restaurant is at walking distance from the city centre. You can also try as a Top option the "Castello Banfi" but is 30min drive from Montalcino...:-(
