Quiet and charming restaurant and most diners were tourists. We chatted with other diners and gave each other tips on places to visit. Great atmostphere

Was staying in Montalcino as part of a several day Tuscan walking tour organized by www.girosole.com and this was one of the recommeded restaurants near to my hotel - after watching some of the Mondiale I came here one night and really was impressed by the food and the attentive service - ended up coming back the second night too! Highly recommended!
Try the peci cinghiale :)

I had a roasted Tuscan style sausage, and it was very good. The atmosphere was a little bit loud and crowded with people, but the food was very very good. The service was quick and orderly and even though there were a lot of people they didn't forget about us. It is a nice lunch stop in while you're exploring the town.

We arrived a bit early by Italian standards and enjoyed the bruschetta and some delicious cheeses. For our main courses we had spaghetti and risotto. Both meals were spectacular and expertly cooked. They have a very extensive list of local wine varietals and the prices are reasonable. We would definitely go back.

This gem of a restaurant is run by a couple of young Italians and is a model of restaurant culture. Having waited tables for many years (and experiencing over the years many disappointing culinary ventures), this place was a model for how a restaurant should be run. There was attention to every detail here. Two service people for the entire restaurant, one took all the orders, the other did the majority of the serving. Thanks to modern technology, everything seemed to work like clockwork and without any verbal communication between these two servers. The table linens were of beautiful handmade Italian fabric. Drinks arrived promptly and were served with style. The simplest of appetizers (insalata mista!) was beautifully presented with the finest of ingredients. The suggested wine was outstanding and great value for money. Our two primi piatti--pinci with garlic tomato sauce and gnocchi with vegetable cream sauce--were simply outstanding. The table was always promptly cleared of excess detritus from previous courses (not always our experience here) and food appeared magically on the table the instant it was delivered from the kitchen (we saw this firsthand, as we were sitting right beside the serving window). We had a great view of the pizza chef from our table and he produced pizza after delicious pizza with panache and skill. I can highly recommend the sorbetto di limone, charmingly served in a frozen half lemon skin. Delicious! Everything from start to finish was perfect. One of the best.
