Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco
Ranked #5 of 17 Hotels in Montalcino
Reviewed June 4, 2013

This hotel could be the realisation of anybody's dream if only the staff would speak/understand a little more english. This is our second time here, and we still have the same sensational feeling. Hard to find any where in the world.

Our favorite Tuscany Hotel. Good central location. 5 star resort that has it all. Outstanding service, food, winery, decor, grounds, and view. With Tuscany being so crowded with tourists it was so nice to come back to this secluded relaxing environment each day.

We stayed here for just one night on a bike tour of Tuscany and dearly wished we could have stayed longer. Everything is over-the-top luxurious: huge rooms, bathrooms with separate his-and-hers dressing rooms, exquisite showers, exquisite linens, exquisite everything. We were in a villa with its own private infinity pool (!) that looked out over a spectacular countryside vista. We didn't get to eat dinner at any of the restaurants, but the breakfast was wonderful. If you want a total blowout, cost-no-object place to be pampered in Tuscany, this is the one.

Room Tip: The Villa Oliviera is particularly amazing.

This hotel is a great place to come to relax. There is plenty to do, but the best thing is spacing this out by large periods doing relatively little surrounded by the beautiful views. We stayed in a villa, which was generally excellent (though you are definitely paying for it). If you're planning to cook yourself and go shopping in the nearby supermarket in Buonconvento, be aware that it is shut in the middle of the day, which can catch you out if you're not aware of it.

A place where you might run out of superlatives! The whole experience is just wonderful and this is one of those rare examples where you get what you pay for - and you do pay a lot, for almost everything.
All suites, with superb amenities and free mini bar (nice touch) and wonderful views over the beautiful Val d'Orcia.
Great service, brilliant breakfast, deserted and stunning golf course, lovely pool, wonderful spa. Need I say more. My wife and I loved it and will go back. And of course not far from Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano.

Beautiful property. After a week of hectic sightseeing in Florence and Venice, my husband and I spent four luxurious nights at CdB. We were pampered from the moment we were met at the train station until we were delivered back to the station four days later. The views are spectacular and the suites were gorgeous. We had them arrange for a rental car and that really alleviated a lot of the hassles of renting a car. It is a great location for touring the hill towns of southern and central Italy. Would definitely stay again.
