You will not be disappointed by anything in this hotel. It's family run, boutique style and in a fabulous spot.

Paolo, the owner is unique! He is always on hand to help and nothing is too much for him! In the run up to my wedding Paolo was brillaint in helping me with last minute changes to bookings, accomodating all requests and finding services for the wedding. A genuniely lovely guy. I stayed in the suite and the rest of my family and friends stayed in the other rooms, no one could find fault.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. I cant wait to go back !!

Elizabeth Barrett Browning penned the lines "how do I love thee, let me count the ways". That's how we feel about our stay at Villa La Mirabella. Our hosts, Paolo and Stefano, were so friendly and helpful, we arrived as guests but felt like friends when we left. It is well located, close to the ferries, three minute walk to Villa Carlotta, close to bars and restaurants. Our beautiful room faced Lake Como and we could see Bellagio on the other side, many villas and the ferries and boats travelling the lake. The Villa has been exquisitely refurbished in the best quality fittings and fixtures and decor to match the splendour of the lake and those Villas around it. Breakfast was lovely and the poached eggs are to die for! I think they come straight from the farm, as does the freshly squeezed blood orange and grapefruit juice. Six nights was not enough and we hope one day to be fortunate enough to visit again, however, I suspect that we will have to book well in advance as people find out about Villa La Mirabella and want to visit or revisit. Ciao Ciao!!

Highly recommend this hotel. Not a generic formula style hotel, instead a house that has been lovingly restored into a family owned, friendly hotel. Paolo is an excellent and informative host who will go out of his way to ensure that you have an enjoyable time. Rooms are tastefully decorated, of a good size and clean. The garden with a swimming pool and views over the lake was a blissful way to end a busy day on the lake. Location is right on the lake (some traffic noise is a bearable consequence) and very close to a ferry stop.

This hotel is quite simply very nice; not the kind that offers all the bells and whistles, but still very nice. While it is an old building, it has obviously just been through a tasteful refurbishment in becoming a hotel. Our room has what you need, in addition to being new, clean and fairly spacious, with a very romantic italian style interior. In terms of the breakfast (coffe, juice, bread and croisants with a selection of jam, honey, and chocolate spread, and even yughurt) it was SERVED at the table by the staff. A very pleasant way to start the day!

The staff was unusually pleasant and helpful; I hardly think you can find anywhere more like a home away from home. It feels like visiting a good friend living abroad.

If anything could be called negative; our room had only a bathtub (nowhere to hang the shower head), and you can hear the baby in the neighbouring room cry (even though fairly distant).

Room Tip: Our room was no 11 with a view of the ocean (other rooms have even better views). Forgot to take pictures, so you'll have to take my word for it...

We have just returned from our September trip to Lake Como and felt that after such a wonderful stay we should leave our first ever tripadvisor reference. The position of the villa was really convenient for the main ferry stop that visits all the central lake attractions. The villa itself is beautiful and the view from our room over the lake was breath-taking. The family were extremely friendly and attentive without being in any way obtrustive. The outdoor pool was a wonderful area to relax and take in the stunning view. The Villa is on the main road circling the lake and this could be a little busy at times but the shutters and double glazing eliminated the noise for a peaceful night's sleep. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 7 which is a suite with panoramic views of the lake.
