This hotel is one in a million. Set up on the hill above Tremezzo so it is well away from the busy road next to the lake & the hotel shuttle bus makes getting up & down the steep hill very easy.
The family run all aspects of the hotel & work incredibly hard. They made us feel SO welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them & they assist with sightseeing & transport expertly.
The hotel is very peaceful & comfortable, our room was well appointed & large. We will definitely return.

I can understand why people are so keen to rate La Perla highly. We moved from a 5 Star Hotel in Maggiore and the culture of this hotel is wonderful.
The staff care about every aspect of their business and really care about offering their guests the best. The hotel is immaculate and pride is taken in everything, from the breakfast to housekeeping.
Best of all is the attitude of the family; they are genuinely nice people and go to extreme lengths to help you make the most of your holiday. They spent time to tell me of the best walks in the area - I changed my plans and our days were much better spent than would have been the case.
The area is great for walking and there are good trips around - a car is necessary unless you are fit and happy to walk. There are benefits from being away from the lake road; the views are great and you avoid the noise of the traffic. It only took 20 minutes to drive to mennagio for restaurants or the pizzeria down the road is good.
Thanks for the hospitality - I hope Juve win this week and England and Italy both progress from their group in June...

This hotel is a real gem and offers a standard of service that is truly remarkable. The owners manage the hotel themselves and their whole vision is to make your stay a memorable one.The great thing about it is though, you see them treat everyone as such.
One thing necessary is a car, the hotel is a little less than a five minute drive from the town centre.
If you choose to stay in the town, the traffic can be quite noisy, were Hotel La Perla is as tranquil as you will get. The views, the cleanliness, the service, breakfast served on the balcony and the advice on various things to do around the lake are only some of the amazing things about this hotel.
One thing the hotel needs though is a broader menu.
There is also a shuttle service available to the town in the mornings and returns later in the day but you do need to book this.
We attended a wedding at The 5* Grand Hotel in Tremezzo and honestly,La Perla beat them hands down, the place is that good!

Room Tip: Balcony view is a must.

The staff are all family and are exception friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. Very quiet location with beautiful views. We stayed for 5 nights and wish we had stayed longer. You can walk from the hotel to a great little restaurant and also or foot paths up the mountains.

We have just had a wonderful week here, celebrating our 45th wedding Anniversary & couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay. This family who run the hotel are absolutely charming in every way. Our bedroom & balcony overlooked Lake Como which was stunning, especially at night time with the lights twinkling over the lake.
The hotel was tastefully furnished & scrupulously clean. All fittings as new. More like a 4 star hotel in fact! We found their shuttle car service very useful every day. They offer to drive you down to the ferry terminal every morning & collect you late afternoon. It's just a short walk from there to The Villa Carlotta, which is worth a visit. Their gardens are magnificent at this time of year. You couldn't find a nicer spot for a relaxing holiday. Across the lake is Bellagio which has some lovely shops & places to eat. Como is worth a visit, but don't go on a Monday as the museums are shut & the shops don't open until 3pm! Nearby Lenno is worth a visit on a Tuesday & the visit to Villa del Balbianello too.
We enjoyed the lovely drive from Essex 740 miles, but worth the effort!

The proprietors of the hotel are among the most accommodating we have ever experienced. Gracious, cheerful and willing to cheat a bit on shuttle schedules to save you the LONG trek up from Lake Como at the end of a long day. They are there after the bar closes (at 11) and again when breakfast opens (at 8), all with smiles, advice and assistance. The hotel itself lacks the cache of the Grand Hotel, but the rates compare favorably with the Grand and the rest of the lakeside competition. Being high above lakeside in the hills gives a somewhat different view, but adds peace and quiet to your late evenings. (At Tremezzo, the traffic on the lakefront is non-stop, and I can't imagine paying a premium to hear it all evening.)

We had one of the smaller rooms with a king bed, which was adequate in size and was equipped with the obligatory mini-bar and safe. (This is the only hotel I've seen in Europe that doesn't charge outrageous prices for supplies from the mini-bar.) The bed was comfortable, and the room was well maintained. The balcony provided an excellent place to sit up with an Havana cigar, and enjoy the late-night quiet. It overlooks an ample pool. La Perla serves no lunch or dinner, but there's a good restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel bar is small, but is adequate for most tastes. If there's a single item that could use some improvement, it's the showers. They are the corner/cabinet style commonly found in B&B's - a tight fit, even for my wife, who's a svelte 5'7". The bathrooms themselves are big enough to handle something larger. That having been said, the water pressure is good and the temperature is as hot as anyone would like.

On balance, this hotel is a gem, and will certainly be our hotel of choice should we return to Lake Como.

The owners were just so friendly and really show genuine interest in the guests comfort.
Hotel was great value for money. Well situated with a lovely view of Lake Como, near the village of Tremezzo
They supply transport that can take you into the village if you do not feel like walking.
Rooms very comfortable, lovely pool and every just so clean and ‘Italian’
each room has a small terrace with a view of the lake.
I love Lake Como and this small family hotels made the experience even better.

Room Tip: Restaurant is for breakfast only but very adequate.
