I stayed in La Perla in July 2012 for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The tranquility of the place topped with stunning views of Lake Como is to die for.
We stayed in a family room overlooking the lake. The rooms are not big but very clean and everything you need is present. The room had a nice balcony which was great for reading, relaxing,... This balcony overlooked the pool area which was well maintained and had enough deck chairs. Of course if people block chairs with their towel for the whole day, this can be annoying but it is not the fault of the hotel.
The staff (2 sisters and their husbands) is multilingual and extremely friendly. You can ask them anything and they will try to help you. It makes you feel very welcome!
They provide a good breakfast, snacks during the day, simple but sufficient meals in the evening. Also the shuttle service to and from the shore is interesting because the walk is steep and about 20 minutes.
Lake Como is beautiful and the boat services are well-organized. Tremezzo is not so interesting as a town but the boat takes you along the lake in no time.

We stayed here for two nights, largely on Trip Advisor recommendations. My expectations were already high and La Perla somehow managed to exceed them. The two couples who run the place are warm, engaging and happy to help when needed. The views are astounding, the room was clean and comfortable, and the little lake-view balcony was a nice perk. Had dinner here one night and while the menu is tiny (3 appetizer, 3 main course options) everything we ordered was delicious. Perhaps the only catch is figuring out your way here for the first time! Breakfasts were ample and with plenty of choices. As others have mentioned, the Wifi can be a little spotty, but it worked 90% of the time in our experience.

There are other places in Tremezzo that offer closer proximity to the ferry landing, restaurants etc., but it was actually quite nice to be up in the hills. Better views, more tranquil. Stay here if you can.

Room Tip: Request a lake-view room.

We stayed for 3 nights in September and I really do not think I have much to add to all the excellent reviews that this hotel already has. As already mentioned the two couples that run this hotel are fantastic in every way. Friendly, helpful, marvellous service and their English puts us to shame. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. This hotel is right up on the hillside giving fabulous views of the lake and sunsets although this maybe a problem for anyone without a car who has mobility issues. However the hotel does provide a shuttle in the morning & evening, which we used. After eating out in town the walk uphill to the hotel was very good for the waistline. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed in the Hotel La Perla for three nights (10-13OCT) and can honestly say that this hotel has easily earned every single good review it has obtained. I more or less knew what to expect room-wise and view-wise, but the staff of this hotel exceeded every single expectation I had - and I'm a travel professional, so I know what to look for!

From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out I felt we were honored VIP guests - and each guest I spoke to seemed to feel the same way. I don't know how they do it, but they do!

Rooms are clean, well-designed, and provided enough space to comfortably relax. The free Wi-Fi was a bit wonky, but really: in a setting as breath-taking as Tremezzo you're better-off disconnecting from the internet and simply enjoying the views.

The hotel is located up the hill from the Tremezzo ferry-stop, in a quiet neighborhood where you can hear the birds sing, the dogs bark, the church-bells ring - and the occasional donkey's bray! If the hotel were located closer to the lake, I'm sure it'd be considered a 4-star property (with 5-star service!)

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. The balcony was on the small side, but perfect for sitting and gazing at the views below.

Meals are served in the breakfast room - and there are ample tables scattered about on the patio if you'd prefer to dine al-fresco. We found the continental breakfast to be fine: it met every need we had.

Clelia was a wealth of information: she has the 'skinny' on everything to do and see, where to park for free, dining options near and far - and almost anything else you could want - including ferry schedules. If she doesn't know the information off the top of her head, she has the brochure!

I know there are other hotels in the area - including some of the world's most-fabled, but I really don't see how you could improve upon the experience!

Room Tip: Do not pass up the opportunity to reserve a lake-view woom!

We (me and my wife) stayed at La Perla for five nights in September 2012. We would rate this place as one of the best out there.

The location of this place is beautiful and offers you fabulous views of the Lake. The drive to the hotel is not at all confusing thanks to the sign boards at various places. The breakfast served was excellent with a good spread. We had a car and this hotel offered covered, protected parking which meant we did not have to worry about the safety of our rental car. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff. Not only are they friendly but they are also extremely helpful, always willing to offer you good advice on restaurants, best ways to commute, places to see etc. Their enthusiasm is contagious !! A lovely set of people and you can see that they take your comfort very seriously. I admire their hard work and dedication.

This hotel fully deserves the "Excellent" rating and we would definitely go back here !
