“Nice hotel in good location for lake como ferries.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Really nice hotel for the price (59 euro pn). Room (at front) had great view across lake. Very clean room with good air con, good shower and decent balcony with table and 2 chairs. Bathroom door lock needed fixed though.

Breakfast tasty and good selection. Fruit juice could be better though. Had dinner buffet one night and food was excellent (25 euro pp).

Hotel is good location next to ferry port and c10 bus stop.

2 small swimming pools behind hotel with a nice terrace for relaxing.

Our last leg of a cycle tour of Lake Como, we were looking for somewhere comfortable to stay and this hotel was ideal, or so we thought. Very overpriced but we needed accommodation so took it. Room was ok, clean and had a good view of the lake. We only had breakfast here, terrible, poor service, cereals were very bad quality, fruit juice watered down and coffee not drinkable. The hotel are getting away with overcharging and not offering value for money, but judging by the number of British people staying there, obviously booked through large tour operators, the hotel needs to sharpen up their act.

The public areas were not very clean, the lift was dirty and swim pool area scruffy and rubbish left around the garden are?

Best holiday
I booked my holiday with Voyager Direct and from the moment I made my booking I was not disappointed. Prior to travelling to Lake Como, I sent an email to the agency and made a request to have a bathroom instead of a shower in my room. Although they could not guarantee it, when I arrived at Bazzoni Hotel, my room had a bathroom as requested
At the airport we were met by Ingram’s representatives and we were transported to the hotel. We arrived after 9pm but the chefs stayed longer to ensure that we had our meal.
The rooms were clean and the restaurant staffs were brilliant. I cannot really fault this hotel and would definitely go back. The hotel is basic and is 3 star but had a very lovely holiday.

On a negative aspect, the hotel could improve with entertainment in the bar.

Room Tip: higher rooms are less noisy

The Good Things

A hotel set in perfect surroundings - close access to bus, ferry and little train. The hotel is in a wonderful setting on Lake Como with beautiful views from the balconies. Room was an excellent size with a great bathroom - the housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient and the cleanliness of the rooms and corridors could not be faulted. The meals, breakfast and dinner both buffet style, hot and cold, were really good. There was a lot of choice and the dining staff were so pleasant and helpful.

The Bad Things

The reception staff should be re-trained in the art of meeting and greeting guests and as they are front of house they should be polite, attentive and willing to acknowledge the guests and attend promptly to their requests.

The swimming pool was a great disappointment, no details of the pool were recorded in the information left in the rooms, access to the pool was via the fire escape - I also took a look into the fitness room and it was not 'fit' for anything, old tv's were stored in the room, the room had little in the way of gym equipment and smelt musty and damp. If it is to be properly utilised then it would need to be cleaned, updated and fitted out correctly.

More attention would need to be given to the pool, fitness room, roof terrace - this would be a great asset to the hotel.

There wasn't much in the way of entertainment in the hotel - maybe some popular music or games evenings - murder mystery - quizzes might encourage a younger clientelle.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front with balconies are the biggest and afford the best views.

Beautiful setting overlooking lake Como. This is an old Hotel with good service. It is clean and staff are very good. There is a great big stylish old fashioned sitting area inside and a semi enclosed outside lounge. Views from dining room are just marvellous and there is an out door dining area which is lovely (depending on weather). We had a room with balcony and lake view - well worth the extra price - see picture of view. Room irtself is on small side and balcony is basic but view is good. Small old style TV and hard to manage the remotes but seemed to have 2 english stations.
Breakfast is adequate - not what we call the full Irish but this is Italy. Buffet dinner is great. Must be 20 items to select in salad area as well as 3 starters and 3 main courses and about 10 deserts.
Pool can be accessed from fire escape on third floor. Again basic and gardens not too well groomed but this is a 3 star hotel.
Butchers shop next door on the right hand side has water etc and if you turn left outside door and about 50 metres on (footpath takes you through a few resturants) there is a small shop with fruit and wine and pleasant lady serving.
Turning left outside door has a footpath for a few miles but if you go right you run out of footpath soon. There is the Greenway walk to the right but it is hard to find - best ask in tourist office which is 100 m to the right. The greenway walk is more like a private pathway and is is not well signposted but it is worth searching as it is the only way you can walk (when you turn right outside door) unless you want to hassel with traffic on the narrow road.

Room Tip: Get a balcony and view.

We stayed in this hotel recently for 1 week & have to say its a good 3 star hotel. Great lake & mountains view from balcony----essential to book room with lake view. Food was very good. Staff were friendly & efficient. Rooms were attended to on a daily basis.
On the down side however the swimming pool area is very shabby & needs a major facelift. Also the hotel requires paining both to front & back. No access to pool area for people with a disability.

Room Tip: room with lake view

We have just returned from this hotel with Just Go holidays and can agree with everything said by DENYorkshire in the post 'Enjoyable holiday'
We had a room with a fabulous side view of the lake and I would recommend asking for a lake view. We did not find the traffic too loud and we had the window wide open all night, I realise that some of the rooms are probably better than others as is the same in all hotels.
We liked the terrace on the 5th floor where we could sun bathe and many people used the pool area.
I was agreeably surprised that we didn't have to pay for the room safe and when one of our party had brought the wrong electric adaptor, one was supplied by the hotel free of charge,
The ferry terminal is just across the road, also a bus stop and there is a little tourist train which runs along the side of the lake.
The staff were all very friendly, the hotel very clean and the selection of food was fantastic.
All in all, an excellent stay.
