“authentic, home grown, beautiful food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2012

we visited the restaurant on 14th September half way through our holiday in Lake Como and after recommendation in The Guardian and by locals, we were definitely not disappointed! It felt so good to be surrounded by the food that we were going to eat. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, no frills just authentic, the way it should be. The owners were the kindest people and when they found out we were in a self catering apartment they gave us some organic garlic, aubergine and parsley to take home to cook. Really special people, great food, thank you we'll definitely be back :-)

“Great Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

we love this little place. Read previous review in Trip Advisor so tried it out. What a great spot! The couple who run the place were so nice and humble. We witnessed a couple who came without cash and the couple told them to eat/drink what they want and come back tomorrow to pay!!!
The pizza was superb; very thin, fresh seasonings and home made dough. The grilled vegetables were fresh picked and cooked just like at home. What a treat. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

“The best part of our trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how anyone could write a negative review of this restaurant/pizzeria.

In the three days we spent in Tremezzo, we ate there for dinner twice.
The food is beyond fresh and amazingly delicious. We enjoyed the brushetta (real tomatoes from the amazing garden) which was the best I have ever had- ever. Both nights my husband and I had the same meal because it was that good!

We had the calzone with ham and gorgonzola cheese. This is by far the largest calzone (easily split between two) we have ever seen. The dough was light and crisp, and if there was a way to ship them back to me in Florida I would have ordered 50! It was that good. We also shared a margherita pizza. The pizza was some of the best I have ever had. Very thin crust and fresh ingredients. Just amazing.

The owners could not be more accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant had a great ambience- it was small, filled with plants, flowers, fresh herbs, etc. It is a small place so you may want to make reservations. They had both inside and outside seating. Their house red wine was extremely good- everything was just fantastic and I really, really cannot say enough about this place.

It was one of the best experiences we had on this vacation. For excellent and fresh food, amazing service, and a cozy atmosphere- this is a must go to. We are so happy that we chose this wonderful little place run efficiently by their friendly owners and operators. Well done!

“best pizza i've ever had”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

We stumbled on this place the last night we were in Lake Como and we were sad we hadn't found it earlier. This is the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life, all the ingredients are coming straight from their garden- you can tell because you are sitting in the owner's backyard/garden. We had the caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella and a pizza with super thin crust, anchovies, olives, and artichokes... to die for. It is a little hard to find because it is up in the hills in Tremezzo in a neighborhood, but it is a beautiful little hike and worth the walk for sure. The owners are lovely and very helpful, don't bother with anything else, come here!

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We were so delighted to meet Franca and Carmelo and taste their wonderful food! The pizza is simple, yet we have never had better!! They grow their own tomatoes and are very proud of the quality they are able to produce. Carmelo has been making pizza for 20+ years and he has it down to a beautiful art. We went for an early dinner with our young son on our first day in Tremezzo. We loved it so much we went back everyday! You will not regret your visit as you enjoy a delicious pizza or calzone on the patio in their garden. We will always remember the warm ambiance and friendliness Pizzeria Balognett!
