We had another wonderful meal at Acquapazza last week! Fantastic crudo, wonderful pastas, great wine suggested by the owner and fabulous desserts.

A charming, modern, comfortable restaurant in a lovely village on the Amalfi Coast - what more could you ask for?

Hopefully I will return again next June ...

Most regions in Italy are associated with simple, genuine use of the best of local ingredients, only common ingredient of all regions being pasta. However after a few days of antipasto, local pasta dishes and the local main courses it can become a tad same, same - it's the regional differences which make it exciting or interesting, but locals want little or nothing to do with any other regions' fare. We were in the Amalfi & Sorrento peninsula and we found the Acqua Pazza in Cetara a twist on the usual local fare. Still uses the best of the local produce, much of what makes Cetara worth the food journey, but adds a bit of class, flair and attention to presentation sadly often lacking in many restaurants of the same price range The lunch start offered 3 starters, 3 pasta dishes & 3 main courses, a limited meny but always a good sign of the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Pasta dishes were actually the weakest or better to say the simplest of the bunch (not a bad thing after a few days of eating pasta at every meal) - all the other dishes were premium quality in terms of taste and presentation. Good service, nice atmosphere, a professionally run restaurant that pays attention to the smaller details, in a mid-priced or just below a fine dining bracket. would gladly go back again.

Besides picking up 'colatura di alici' in Cetara (small town famous for the anchovies), you must try seafood dishes at Acquapazza: tuna, raw fish, anchovies, and more delicious and beautifully presented dishes. You are guranteed EXCELLENT food, wonderful staff. The ziti with tonno or tuna bottarga is super. The town is so pretty - try dining here than in the more tourist towns of Amalfi and Positano and you’ll be very pleasantly surprised, also by the relaxed atmosphere of Cetara. We go to the Amalfi coast for a visit every year and Acquapazza never disappoints us. We can't wait to go back!

I recently returned to the Amalfi Coast and was able to have dinner again at this wonderful restaurant. This is the only place I would even consider eating anchovies - but here they are fresh and good. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dishes and we had great wine as well. If you are in the area, be sure to stop here for a meal!!

This restaurant has given me a new found appreciation of anchovies (a fish I previously avoided at all costs). We were staying in Ravello for four days but decided to head to Cetera after a recommendation from a local to eat in Acqua Pazza. After a lazy morning spent on the beach at Cetera we headed over to Acqua Pazza for a late lunch and were given a friendly welcome from the restaurant's owner, who spoke excellent English. The restaurant was packed with locals on a weekday lunch time, which was encouraging. I had a starter of fried anchovies and we were also given a complimentary, alternative anchovy starter, as we were being indecisive and wanted to try everything! For the main course, I had a delicious Tuna bolognese with wonderful fresh pasta. Finally, to finish off we sampled an array of fantastic home made ice creams.
The restaurant has friendly staff, delicious fresh food and comes highly recommended. It will certainly give you a new appreciation of anchovies!!!
