“Fresh, Fabulous, Fine Amalfitano Dining”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

You don't just go to this restaurant to eat good Italian food. You go to become part of the Buonocore family, to experience the culinary delights that leave the traditional Amalfitana kitchen, to wine and dine on crisp white wine and handmade tuna croquettes, grilled flying squid caught that day, and fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. You go to finish your meal with a dessert made by the owner's nonna- a local favorite, chocolate covered eggplant.

All of the food is amazingly fresh. When I say fresh I mean that the fisherman delivers the mussels and clams in buckets every day. Luigi the vegetable man delivers fresh veggies, herbs, and fruit- every single morning.

The food here is so fresh, so healthy, and so made with love. I've been told by other tourists staying in the Amalfi area that they ate their best meal at Mistal and I have to agree with them.

As a cook who specializes in Italian cuisine, trust me when I say that this quaint little place may be Italy's finest dining, set in an unpretentious, warm, and inviting atmosphere.

Vai, vai- mangia!

“Just ok”
Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

Ate here on our first evening in Atrani. Dining alfresco is the best part of holidaying in warmer climes, and the restaurant, set in the quaint square does not disappoint on this level. The square was buzzing even though it was late on in the evening when we arrived.

The food was nice, however nothing incredible! I've had better Italian meals in England, the dishes we had (pizza and pasta) were simple and tasty however weren't imaginative. The menu was full of the same type of fare, nothing really got me excited.

Service was also a bit lax - we had to get the waiter's attention a few times during the meal which shouldn't happen given the restaurant is so small.

All in all could do better however tasty, simple Italian food at the end of the day.

“Great local atmosphere”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

My family really enjoyed our al fresco dinner at this restaurant tucked away in a serene piazza on the coast. Based upon the location, a stone's throw from the sea, we selected seafood and were not disappointed. The branzino was delicious, simply grilled and served with roasted potatoes and vegetables & the seafood pasta with clams & mussels was very tasty. There is a surprisingly large menu, so lots of choices & all very fresh. There is a nice wine list but we went with the house red and white wine, which were quite tasty. Service was very professional and friendly and reasonable prices. The other diners were all Italians and there was quite a lively scene, with the local folks coming down to the piazza to meet & greet at the end of the day. Parking is a bit tricky, as parking spaces are at a premium on the Amalfi Coast, but stick with it as the restaurant is worth the effort.

“A quaint little restaurant in a quaint piazza!”
Reviewed June 19, 2014

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! My review has come in exactly a year later.....but have been wanting to appreciate this lovely restaurant. We were a family of 4...all vegetarians and what a lovely dinner they cooked for us. The risotto was outstanding...the entire food was so authentic and freshly made. We chanced upon this treasure on out walk from Amalfi to Atrani (again a lovely walk after you cross the tunnel and road...winding down beside the coast!). The Piazza itself is so small and quaint with a fountain...local children and adults seem to just sit around and chat....really adorable place. The limoncello they served us was made by the owner's grandmother...so delicious and fresh..unlike the multitude selling all over the amalfi coast! we were tempted to buy bottles to take back home, but they didn't have any sealed ones. We definitely would be coming back!!!

“Yes! At last!”
Reviewed June 8, 2014 via mobile

At last....authentic and truly delicious Italian cuisine in a traditional Italian setting.
At last....genuine customer service from waiters who know their trade and who genuinely want to please.
At last....value for money away from the profit grabbers in the more commercial settings.
Not last...a visit to this great restaurant. We will be returning.
Oh...and by the way...the sea bass is the best I've ever tasted.
