We loved sitting outside Mistral, close by the fountain, watching the children play hide and seek as evening fell on the charming piazza, while we dined on delicious and reasonably priced Southern Italian cuisine. The small fried anchovies were so light and greaseless that we picked them up and ate them like french fries.

And while the fresh seafood is the big star here, the pastas and vegetable dishes we devoured with it were equally delicious.

Next time we're in Atrani, our first dinner will be at Mistral.

Thank Rick E

Absolutely lovely friendly place in the Piazza next to the fountain,we went there for drinks on our first night which was my birthday, my partner just jokingly commented to Danilo that it was by birthday and he brought out a Pannacotta covered with chocolate & Caramel sauce with a candle in, we ate the a couple of times and the food was delicious it was my partners birthday just before we left and Danilo also brought a cake out for him.

This restaurant stands out in little Atrani for the delicious food, great wine, outstanding service, and overall excellent value. We dined here twice on a recent visit and we actually wanted to go back again, but decided to support other establishments!

Don't be afraid because they have that 'tourist trap menu with pictures' on the Atrani Square. Ristorante Mistral is a perfect choice when you are in the Atrani-Amalfi area. I went there two times, and both times it was just perfect fish. The fish was fresh and it tasted exactly like fresh fish and not of sauce or something else. They know how to cook very good italian food in that kitchen. Go for it!

When we stumbled on the small, quaint town of Atrani, we had no idea that it would provide us with our favorite dining experience after 2 weeks in Italy and Sicily. Where can you find Southern Italian cuisine using the freshest of ingredients and made authentically with love in a family run restaurant...that would be Mistral. It is a simple and surreal experience when you first enter the pint size piazza from the sea with children playing soccer, and locals enjoying conversation around the fountain. Mistral is tucked back in the corner with outdoor tables nearly touching the piazza fountain and high cliffs hovering over the town.

During our 3 nights in Atrani, we dined at Mistral twice and La Palma once. Mistral was our favorite hands down. The staff at Mistral treated us like real guests. They shared family stories, recipes and delicious delights that were brought in directly from grandmother's kitchen to share. Danielo served us and was so charming and funny. Other family members got into the act by sharing home made wine from the large family jug and the most incredible after dinner libations and deserts. Seafood is brought in just hours after being pulled from the sea. Our favorite dishes were the prawn fetticinni, which tasted as though they cooked the pasta in sea water, the grilled Italian Seabass over grilled tomatoes and olive oil. Favorite appetizers were the seafood combo with octopus, sardines, stuffed mussles, fried fish and crab balls. There are so many delectable items to choose from and combined with the ambience, outstanding service, and superb value, this restaurant is not to be missed when visiting the Amalfi Coast.
