This hotel is expensive, but it delivers a high-class product. Our room was spacious & comfortable; the lobby is vast. The staff are well-trained and motivated; most speak some English, and all will help you with your Italian. The building is modern and well-equipped, the restaurants are good, the breakfast excellent. The view (from rooms at the front) is remarkble. A car is essential (unless you are part of a group), but access can be difficult and at times there is pressure on parking spaces.

This hotel is situated in a lovely location with a fabulous view, however I don't see how it is a 5 star hotel. The lobby is very small and other than the girls at the front desk, the staff did not speak English (this included when we called housekeeping - she answered, said 'no english' and hung up). You had to ask at least twice to get ANYTHING. Staff at breakfast were also rude and again, no English, only addressed us in Italian. I was also very disappointed with the spa, where I got the worst manicure of my life and a so-called "massage" which consisted of the lady just squirting ridiculous amounts of massage oil and lazily rubbing it in. I would have complained and refused to pay, but again she didn't speak english and I did not want to ruin my holiday with a confrontation. The food was bland (both in the restaurant at dinner and the breakfast). The only nice thing about this hotel was the room - we got our own terrace and a free upgrade to a junior suite. Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel - its way too far from the rest of the coast, the town (Vietri sul Mare) is pretty gross and rundown, and the unfriendly/uninterested/unhelpful staff and awful spa are not worth a visit.

We were originally scheduled to stay at Hotel Raito for 5 nights and switched our plans to another hotel in Amalfi after a friend told us that this was quite a bit out of the way etc. We ended up staying here only one night and had a Seiren Floor room, which i thought was going to be nicer than the rest. When we pulled up to the hotel I had very high hopes as it is really beautiful! Before we were shown to our room I went around taking dozens of photos because i thought it was so beautiful. Then we were sent to find our room and we began to realize that there was something really off at this place. We couldn't find where to go into the building once down to the level they told us to go to, it's an outdoor lift. We finally figured it out and went to our room. It was very clean and modern but very tiny. We were supposed to have a wonderful view but they have these odd fencelike trellis's over the terraces with vinery growing on them that mostly obfuscates the view. Bizarre! Why would you create something that would block the view??? My husband and i each had a large suitcase and there was really nowhere to keep them. I called down to the desk and asked if they could bring us those luggage racks you see in most hotels. they said they would. no one ever came, even after calling 3 times. Another time my husband went to ask about parking in Vietri and he felt he never got a definitive answer, strange, you would think this was a question they would encounter often. Oh, and we tried to turn the air-conditioning down to make it cooler in our room and it would not move. I called the desk and they told me they control it from the desk, again, bizarre! I had to call twice about that too. After a while i felt like i was in the twilight zone, it wasn't just a language barrier, there was something off at this place. We loved Vietri, bought some lovely ceramics and had a lovely authentic dinner there at Ristorante Da Nando. I would go back to Vietri again, but i would stay somewhere else, and i think one night is enough to see it all.
The pool and grounds are beautiful and the price wasn't bad.

Let me first start by saying that having read some of the negative reviews on here prior to booking the hotel, I was somewhat nervous that I may be making a costly mistake. However, I am pleased to say that our personal experience was fantastic from start to finish.
Some of the major issues other reviewers have mentioned such as service and staff issues couldn't be further from the truth in our opinion. All staff were polite, friendly, and attentive, spoke good English (mostly), and were generally pleasant to engage with.
We booked a seiren deluxe sea view room - stunning views and well worth the extra money which also includes free access to the Spa with heated indoor pool and sauna. The views from all over the hotel are jaw dropping and all we hoped it would be – from the bar to the restaurant to the pool.

The hotel is expensive as others have previously reported - especially the main restaurant but the food served is exceptional and well worth the experience - albeit not every night(!) and its fair to say that prices are relatively cheap in comparison to some other 5 star hotels throughout the world e.g. London!

Transport and local amenities can be an issue, though again not as bad as some have reported here. The hotel offers a free shuttle service into Vietri which we were told we could 'book' when ever we wanted i.e. what time we wanted to leave the hotel and just to call the hotel when ready to be picked up. There isn’t much to do or see in Vietri though so you may find you just stay in the hotel beyond excursions!

Highly recommend a day trip to Capri – we didn’t have a clue how to get there but the hotel staff efficiently helped us arrange the whole day. Would also recommend a trip to Pompeii – we braved the train from Vietri but suggest you ask the hotel where you can buy train tickets before arriving at the station as there was nowhere to buy tickets on the platform itself (we had to rely on some help from a local to explain to the ticket inspector!)

The only criticism we might raise is that the hotel to some extent is a victim of its own idyllic location in that during the week we stayed (in Sept) there were some 6+ weddings or so (lost count!) – On some occasions back to back in the same day. Whilst these were kept generally away from other guests, it did detract from some of the overall experience when parts of the outside restaurant are taken by private functions etc.

All in all, beautiful hotel and we had a wonderful holiday. Certainly not the cheapest option we could have taken but for those views, the food, and the overall experience; we feel we've had value for money and would certainly consider returning at some point in the future.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The people/staff were really amazing. They helped us with everything. I am a celiac and need to eat gluten - free and they had a FULL menu for me (pasta, bread, cereal, cookies, etc). The pool overlooking the coast was beautiful. Our first night we opened the balcony to a full moon above the water on a clear night listening to Bocelli on their international TV that played music as well. Their location was perfect. You can drive or boat on the amalfi coast. I will definitely be back here and wish everyone to go there. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!!

The hotel is really lovely, fantastic views from our balcony. Pool was very relaxing and people were exceptional. You do however need a car... The shuttle bus was not really there for our use! on 3 occasions we were told that we could not use the bus as the driver hadto use the bus for private functions. We were also, left stranded in Vietri, having to 'Thumb' a lift to get back to the hotel!
Finally, The food in the hoel is very expensive, I would suggest popping into Vieti, or other resorts for dinner and also a short walk into Raito to get snacks and Wine. You could buy 3 bottles of wine for the eqivilent of 1 glass in the hotel!

To be fair, the Hotel itself was great (view, pool, room, cleanliness).

But the Service was absolutely unsatisfying. Apart the Service down at the pool and the room cleaners the Staff was just unfriendly, rude, let us wait several times. Overall not as professional as you would expect it from a 5*Hotel.
The Room Service didn't deliver the horrendously expensive Breakfast we've ordered and we still don't know why. We ended up in the Breakfast Room after we waited one hour.

We paid an awful lot of money and it just was not worth it.
