The owners of our Airbnb recommended this, and since the agriturismo would send someone to pick us up at no cost, we decided to give it a try on our first night. We were glad we did!! Out of five nights in the area, we ate dinner here three times!
Each time we ordered the antipasto platter, which changes nightly. There is a large plate of meats and cheeses and another large plate of hot antipasti - items such as arroncini, etc. To be truthful, we could probably have stopped with that but wanted to try other items on the menu. For just 10 euros, it was a deal.
We then tried the Paccheri with zucchini, cream of pistachio and lemon. Oh.My.Word. One of the best pasta dishes we have ever eaten. The cost of this was 7 euros. We finished up by sharing one of their steaks. They offer several preparations and we chose the salt/rosemary combination. The steak was served on a sizzling slate plate and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. A carafe of the house red wine (very good) was only 6 euros. Do yourself a favor. If you're anywhere close to this place - have dinner there. It's one of the best restaurants we have found in our many trips to Italy.

What a great place. We'd visited an agriturismo earlier in the week close to Paestum, and were very impressed. So we were delighted when we found out that we could walk up the mountain lane for half an hour or so and reach this gem.
We hoped we could get lunch, but we were a bit in doubt of whether they were open. The electric gates were shut, and there wasn't much activity down below in the house. But then suddenly the gates opened and we wandered down to the house. We were greeted by Roberta, with little Marco in her arms. She spoke great English, and welcomed us in. Although we were the only guests there (Tuesday 13:30), we didn't feel out of place. It was all very friendly and relaxed. The view from the restaurant terrace was fabulous.and the food was matched it - A selction of delicious rustic cold cuts, cheese and bread followed by a platter of small antipasti. Then a primo of the best pasta dishes we've ever had, We skipped the secundi, because we would never have finished it, and went straight to our scrummy local deserts. We had two jugs of their own red wine. Finishing off with limoncello and coffee, We couldn't have wished for a better lunch, and all for just 42 euro. Super value!
Afterwards, we were able to say hello to all their friendly animals in their petting zoo - donkeys, goats, geese, dogs, chickens, horses and the adorable piggies. They have a swing for the kids too - so it's very family friendly.
We'd certainly love to visit again.

Well, it's hard to believe that such a wonderful agriturismo...complete with friendly staff, all sorts of animals (horses, geese, goats, chickens, etc.), reasonably-priced nice rooms, and excellent home cooking all exists in a pretty touristic part of Southern Italy. The food is excellent and all local, the rooms are nice with amazing views of the sea, and you can fully enjoy the beautiful Amalfi coastline from this place, and on its several levels of terraced spaces. Some of the rooms have been carved out of the rock of the hillside. You will have to leave your car up above the place as the entry road is not very wide. They will take you and your bags to and from your car in their shuttle at no extra cost. Also included is a wonderful breakfast full of local cakes, coffee, yoghurt, etc., etc.

My family ate our first meal in Italy here after a rough arrival with rental car snafu, but all our cares melted away as we settled into the warm, lively family lunch scene at Il Cavaliere dei Conti. Delicious antipasti, a pitcher of their own wine for only €3, and it got better from there. The pasta courses and MASSIVE, delicious meats mostly from right there on the farm, ending with homemade dessert was delicious - exactly what I'd always imagined a family farm restaurant in Italy to be like! If this is typical of Italian family dining, I don't ever want to leave Italy!
Atmosphere was definitely lively and family-oriented, and the wait staff were an absolute delight.
Their menu was fairly concise - we guessed it is different every day, which made it seem all the more special. As for selections, just close your eyes and point - it's all wonderful. We shared around the table and all agreed there wasn't a dud in the whole meal.

We stayed at Il Cavaliere for three nights at the end of October. We took te 1/2 board option which was quite good value. The site is lovely and the view wonderful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Diner was simple Italian family cooking - antipasti, choice or pasta, meat dish with sides and dessert. The house wine was good at €6 a litre. The staff were friendly, even if it was difficult to communicate with some of them. The highlight was the horseback ride in the mountains organised by Il Cavaliere and their partner The Three Brothers Ranch. The only real negative was breakfast which was very disappointing. Parking is a challenge in the narrow mountain streets. The site would be a challenge for anyone who has difficulty walking up steps/hills. We would go back.
