This is not a 4* as said more a 3*. the food is more for Europeans like Germans Greeks not so much for English. We went all-inclusive and not that we drink a lot there was not a good selection of drinks included a lot of drinks if you wanted them you had to pay for on top. The pool side had to be repaired while we were there. The entertainment people were very nice and good at their job but not a big selection of what they given to do. We were not impressed that of an eve the owner was there with b
Some of his family and just helping himself to the whiskey we had to pay for, I know it is his hotel but he could have been a bit discreet about it, plus I think his staff felt uncomfortable with him there watching as they were very pleasant and done their job well. The rep was very helpful.

Jusrt arrived back from our holiday. 2 adults and one child, age 7. I will try to be honest!!
As long as you go to the hotel with a view that this is a 3 star and not a 4 star you shouldnt be disappointed. If we knew this before we went we wouldnt have been as upset on arrival. We spoke to many other travellers during our stay who all felt the same, and many of them addressed this with the rep also.
On first arrival at the hotel we could see that it wasnt going to be the usual 4 star hotel we expected. Our first room was very very basic, for what should be a four star, but quite a good size. I Can only describe the quality of the room as like a basic butlins room, We were put as far away as possible from the hotels main amenities near the back of beyond! You have to pay a 20 euro deposit for the air conditioning remote, so make sure you have some euros for when you arrive. The air con unit was very noisy and stopped working after 5 mins so the room was like a sauna the rest of the night. The fridge in the room was extremely noisy also!! On waking the next morning (as we arrived at 2am) we found loose electrical cables hanging out the bathroom walls, badly broken floor tiles and the drainage filter in the bathroom floor was thick in gunk!! We spoke to neil the rep who told us we could move to the room above for free, or pay for an upgrade to a superior room!! We chose to have a look at the room and it was by far more superior and very large!! Think we ended up in a suite as we were the only room with double patio doors, and the room had a partition then 2 double sofa beds in it also. it was more like going into a room you would expect to see in a 4 star hotel, but we had to pay for this priviledge even though we'd paid for a 4 star to begin with!! few ill fittin skirting boards and architraves etc lol but on the whole it was sooo much better.
Once we had settled we found the whole hotel was lacking in 4 star luxury but on the whole it was clean. Maid service was excellent. fresh towels and room cleaned every day. Also pool area and outside entertainment area hosed down every morning.
Food was very same o same o on a daily basis with not much choice or variety, and once the puddings had gone they had gone!! so get them in whilst theyre there!!! or end up waiting to see if they bring anything else out just in case!! No seperate childrens menu at night either. menu consists mainly of a pasta dish, chip/potato dish, couple of meat dishes, veg and usual greek salads. All however are well cooked and refreshed regularly (ish!) wine and beer on tap up to 5pm, ouzo, gin, vodka rum, malibu on all inclusive after 5pm. drinks in pool bar didnt start till 11am so no refreshments available between breakfast and pool bar opening. lunch served in pool bar only. consisting mainly of pizza, pasta, greek salad, a meat dish and fruit.
Hotel entertainment team were very good and tried their best to get people involved. mainly adult activities during day, volleyball, darts, aqua aerobics, pool games. little ones are happy though to use the pool and its is a lovely pool for them. plenty of shady areas from olive trees and large canopies along the side of the pool. Evening entertainment is face painting, then mini disco for the little ones, then some sort of audience participation for the evening adult entertainment. This seemed to be hard work the week we were there!! LOL many of the games abandoned for lack of enthusiastic audience! we are usually quite reserved but ended up joining in every night as we felt quite sorry for the poor guys!! so WE had quite a lot of fun!!
The hotel is very international which was quite nice to be honest. everyone was very polite and well behaved during our stay. We were able to get beds by the pool everyday except for one day when the receptionist took it upon herself to disguard just our and another family's towels whilst we were having breakfast!!! all the rest of the towels were left untouched!! be careful of the broken sunbeds they leave out for use, as some are quite dangerous. I did complain but nothing got done!!
The hotel is set in a very quiet location about a 20 min walk to the nearest town of kolimbia. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the nearest shingle beach 4 times a day.
please dont be put off by other very negative comments. We had a happy holiday, once we got over our disappointment, and met some very nice people. It is not the fault of the hotel that they have been awarded 4 stars, its the travel companys who dont challenge this!! We just kept being told its the greek tourist board who set the stars and not the tour companies. The rep didint seem too shocked when we complained!!!

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade if you want a room that sort of resembles a 4 star room, and has air conditioning that works. The receptionist's comment to us about the broken air con in the standard room was" some work, some dont!!"

Just returned from two weeks all inclusive at the Golden Odyssey 14th July to 28th July 2012, I had a really good time. The food is very good and the chefs are excellent professionals, sometimes the combination can seem strange but there is always something to eat. Remember that this is an international hotel British where in the minority so as Jamie Oliver says Try something new
The room we had over-looked the pool in the corner of the complex near to the Boules area, it had air-con which was not the best I have ever had but did work well enough to cool the room so sleep and being in there was pleasant. There was a large fridge (size of a washing machine) which is excellent as it is hot And I mean hot and you are going to need to drink water.
The bus stop is just next to the Hotel and a trip into Rhodos is well worth it. The castle and old cobbled streets are great. (TIP there a quite a lot of touts for time share DON’T be nice or polite that’s why they pick on the British Just tell them to P-off don’t chat) There are some bigger shops as it’s the capitol and a McDonalds, Costa Coffee etc etc. The bus also goes to Lindos I never went but those who did said it was very good.
Neil the Olympic rep is great, He walks round the pool in a morning saying hello and chatting to you, He is not hidden away in some corner of the reception but making sure that you have a chance to chat with him ask questions or even have a moan. Strategic flight was OK more or less on time, cabin crew friendly and efficient. Seats big but very limited leg room. I am over 6ft so was a cramped 4 and half hours for me. Transfers to and from as always with Olympics where excellent.
The animation team are at times a pain BUT are doing their very best to entertain you, on the Friday when they are on a day off the kids wander round looking lost so they appreciate their efforts. Maurice on an evening organises Bingo and Raffles and then plays games (Dancing to different types of music and Mr and Mrs type games) as well as a mini disco at 9 for the kids. Maurice is really good always thinking up ways to make the holiday fun. The pool party is good €7 for the bar to stay open till 1am, with a disco and some party games and of course late night swimming if you want. Maurice is the Del Boy of Rhodes selling T shirts CD’s trips into Falirki on a night for the younger ones and if you want he would probably sell you his granny BUT he does do his best to entertain you and make your holiday fun.
BAD BITS = Well really there are very few, the bar closes at 11pm which is a bit early and they actively stop you from having more than one drink on your table. They do serve till very late and a big beer is only €2-50 so not an extortionate rate. The brochure says that Vodka and gin and cocktails are available from 11am but the management only start spirits at 5pm Not a problem for me as there is beer and wine coke sprite and Fanta all day but if you have paid for it you should get it. There is a bit of a wait from breakfast ending 9-30am till drinks coming starting at 11am. It is about a 25 minute walk to the shops and supermarkets which seem to be a lot busier on a night after 8pm.

I had a great time and would definitely go back. Enjoy your holiday!

Room Tip: The further away from the pool you are the queiter it will be

Very secluded, need to get buses and taxis as the nearest bars/shops/restaurants are a good 30 minute walk away.
Food very basic, not a lot to choose from and very repetative. Vegetarians would struggle.
Hotel very clean and tidy, staff friendly. Basic rooms. Air conditioning very loud in rooms, recommend ear plugs!!
Reps are not very forthcoming with letting you know that there are free buses to get to certain places. The hotel provides free bus to the beach and the water park puts on a free bus to there.
