“Fantastic Holiday Resort with Very Efficient/Helpful Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

I visited Sentido Port Royal Villas & Spa for one week with my girlfriend and had a very nice holiday.

When we arrived, we were greeted by reception staff with drinks. The reception area is very quiet and clean.

We were taken to our room on an electric buddy/cart and was shown around the resort by a friendly driver. Our room was 'Sea View', however, I did wish i paid extra for an upgraded room as this room view was half blocked by the rooms in front of ours! Apart from that, room was very spacious, modern and had very good facilities including a flat screen TV. Room also came with complimentary Fruits and Wine.

On our second day, we decided to upgrade to All Inclusive from Half Board which i believe was 25 euros p/day p/person at the time. I felt this was very reasonable as I spent 25 euros for a couple of rounds of drinks at the pool! However, all inclusive did stop at 11PM. Bars had a menu which showed what drinks were included on All Inclusive, I found it was everything I expected and wasn't disappointed at all. Everything from soft drinks in glass bottles (coke, fanta, sprite etc), to House Wines, Beers, and a lot of other beverages. Bar staff were very friendly, however, the Reception bar was usually ran by one man, and a women helping, which was not enough for around 10PM as it got very busy and he's very much a perfectionist and took 5-10 minutes per customer, making the cocktail look perfect (not a bad thing, just a bit annoying waiting for 30 minutes for a drink!)

Only ate at the Main restaurant during our week, because the Al A Carte restaurant didn't look like there were much choice, and it was very quite (doesn't suggest its that good!), but the main restaurant was very good. High range of foods changing daily, with efficient waiters who got you a table as soon as possible (During peak times). Again, I felt the restaurant was also slightly understaffed as I found myself trying to get there attention for more drinks for quite long times.

One improvement that could be made is making other chargeable facilities included with All Inclusive, such as WiFi access (even if they just gave us a free hour p/day!), Water sports or the gym (which i paid £5 for entry).

Kolympia is an interesting resort with a lot of shops/restaurants (ones with pictures of food on menus bear in mind), and supermarkets. Beach was extremely close, 30 second walk from hotel resort, and had a lot of sun beds available, although very outdated compared to pool side sun beds.

Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, very recommended for couples, however due to the little things (all inclusive stops at 11, wifi not included etc), It wouldn't stop me from visiting another hotel instead. However, i really do recommend this hotel.

Overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff, the superb facilities, the brilliant room overlooking the beach (you have to pay extra for this but it is well worth it.) Fantastic selection of food, great service, relaxing entertainment in the evening. If I were to be picky I was a little surprised that wifi wasn't free, that the selection of tv channels was as limited as it was (perhaps that is all they can get on Rhodes?) and that the swimming pools were rather cold - the sea was warmer. But the overall impression was one of being overwhelmed by the helpfulness, efficiency and friendliness of the wonderful staff and management and the constant feeling of living in the lap of luxury. A real treat.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the beach or at least with a sea view. We didn't use the spa so no idea w...

What a fantastic Hotel to spend our Honeymoon in.The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, polite & nothing was ever too much for them. The hotel was faultless,it is a really modern & clean place to stay & we think,by far,the best in Kolimbia !!!Our room was absolutely fantastic.Ultra modern & always cleaned to a high standard. We were on the 2nd floor & overlooked the pool, which by night, had fibre optic colour changing lights in the bottom & looked fantastic. there was plenty of space to move around freely. There were always sunbeds available around the pool or at the hotels' beach area. The food was awesome & there was something for all tastes & for those people who think that they had cause to complain...shame on you!! We especially loved the "sweet stuff" on offer for after the main course...mmmm.We would have no hesitation in going back in the future !!! WELL DONE TO ALL AT THE PORT ROYAL !!!

My husband and I have just come back from an excellent week at Port Royal. I don't understand how anybody has the cheek to moan about any staff at this hotel. Check in and out was quick easy and helpful, bar staff Michelle and Sakis amazing . Our room was kept clean at all times. We love to travel and I would be happy to come back to the hotel and have recommended it to family and friends . To the general manger be proud of your staff the are. Great team. Thank you

The main strength of this hotel are the staff - they are really attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is ok - nothing special but caters for all tastes. We had some rather strange lunch combinations - but tea was mostly lovely and we definitely didn't starve.

The pools and grounds are very well kept and the rooms are spotless. The bedding and towels are changed through the week and it was nice to walk in to a bottle of water and wine and some fruit on arrival. I am not convinced about the hot towels and silly little sandwiches in reception when you first arrive but I can see what they are trying to achieve.

I would strongly recommend hiring a car - the resort is not the best (stony beach and lots of abandoned shops) but other areas of the island are well worth visiting. We used Rodos cars - they have an office just up the road from the hotel - and they are very reasonably priced (much cheaper than Avis which Thomas Cook use).

Wifi was interesting - wired in the room (10 euro deposit for the cable) and wireless in reception and round the pool. It cost 30 euro for 24 hours - you have to log out each time you have finished and the 24 hours stretches through the week. It worked for emails and FB so I can't complain.

I know we went end of season but the hotel entertainment was dire. We found a Saudi tv channel which screened English language films and mostly watched that in the evenings with a bottle of wine! The adverts were funny!

The all inclusive hours are a bit odd as well - you can't get a coffee at the bar before 10am - you can't get a drink at the bar after 11pm - but the bar is open if you want to pay! I think the management need to re-think this policy as it could cause resentment which would be a pity because otherwise the hotel is really good.

All in all a lovely week away. It was very relaxing and we were well looked after by very well trained and attentive staff :)

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - but keep your shutters closed because the mosquitos are always hungry!
