The main strength of this hotel are the staff - they are really attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is ok - nothing special but caters for all tastes. We had some rather strange lunch combinations - but tea was mostly lovely and we definitely didn't starve.

The pools and grounds are very well kept and the rooms are spotless. The bedding and towels are changed through the week and it was nice to walk in to a bottle of water and wine and some fruit on arrival. I am not convinced about the hot towels and silly little sandwiches in reception when you first arrive but I can see what they are trying to achieve.

I would strongly recommend hiring a car - the resort is not the best (stony beach and lots of abandoned shops) but other areas of the island are well worth visiting. We used Rodos cars - they have an office just up the road from the hotel - and they are very reasonably priced (much cheaper than Avis which Thomas Cook use).

Wifi was interesting - wired in the room (10 euro deposit for the cable) and wireless in reception and round the pool. It cost 30 euro for 24 hours - you have to log out each time you have finished and the 24 hours stretches through the week. It worked for emails and FB so I can't complain.

I know we went end of season but the hotel entertainment was dire. We found a Saudi tv channel which screened English language films and mostly watched that in the evenings with a bottle of wine! The adverts were funny!

The all inclusive hours are a bit odd as well - you can't get a coffee at the bar before 10am - you can't get a drink at the bar after 11pm - but the bar is open if you want to pay! I think the management need to re-think this policy as it could cause resentment which would be a pity because otherwise the hotel is really good.

All in all a lovely week away. It was very relaxing and we were well looked after by very well trained and attentive staff :)

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - but keep your shutters closed because the mosquitos are always hungry!

We stayed here for a week in September 2013. The staff were excellent. The setting is white leather, with an Italian contemporary feel to it. You can walk to the beach in 2 minutes with free sunbeds. Buffet food was great too. Could only order a bottle of wine and not a glass at dinner which was a bit sneaky...

We had our honeymoon there. We had roses everywhere in the room and I just smile when I remember my experience. Very luxurious place run by Panaghiotis who is one of the best managers I ever met. Way to go buddy! We had all inclusive package and we had so wonderful time. Guys thank you. I know I have been very difficult but with your professionalism I am now a very happy customer.

Room Tip: Room 406 was very good

When we decided to come to Rhodes we chose Kolymbia because it seemed a quieter place than the other resorts. We were right! It is a great place to use as a base for getting around the island. The Port Royal is also a fantastic place to stay. The staff are outstanding. Genuinely friendly and extremely efficient. I don't think I have ever seen so many smiles in one building. The room we had was excellent too. Well laid out, very clean and kept that way throughout the week. We arrived late in the day because of flight times but we were greeted with a welcome drink and there was some food and wine in the room when we got there - a very nice surprise. The choice of food is staggering. All meals are buffet style but the quality and variety is amazing. There is an à la carte restaurant as well if you wish to use it. The pool areas are good too with plenty of sun beds available and pool bars for refreshments during the day. The beach is yards away and that, too, has free sun beds for hotel guests. There is a smallish bar on the beach as well that serves beer, wine and food and is well worth a visit. The only negative thing I can say about this hotel is that the WiFi is not free although the 24 hours connect time I purchased lasted me the whole week.

I would definitely book another stay at this hotel if we decided to visit Rhodes again.

Just spent a week here at port royal sentido and all i can say is its the best place me & my husband have stayed & would recomend to anyone looking for a honeymoon destination. All staff were amazing & very helpful especially the catering side with not being able to eat alot of foods they asked me each morning what id like & prepared me fresh meals for each night meal & was lovely. Pools are stunning lit up at night n had a lovely view from our room looking over the pool/ beach & sum mountains. Definatly a 5* place to relax

Just returned from Port Royal Hotel and rooms very clean, staff very friendly. Pools are lovely but very cold water in October. Could use heated indoor pool, which is small, but would not pay five euros. Choice of food good, but quality average, don't expect restaurant quality food, everything lukewarm, deserts tasteless, lots of synthetic cream. No free wi-fi. Drinks are too expensive, quadruple the price of local bars, small beer is 4.60 euros, soft drinks 4.40 euros. Go across road to local bar and get a litre of beer for 3 euros. Evening meal dress code not enforced, people wearing shorts, jeans and very casual wear. Travelled with Thomas Cook who sell resort as adult only but children are allowed. Villas with own pool not worth paying extra. Beach is ok.

Room Tip: Not worth paying extra for sea view.
