We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Anavadia Hotel via Olympic Holidays. We had read the reviews prior to booking and overall I think they are a good representation. the Hotel is divided into 2 areas as new rooms have been added at the rear of the property but are a 4-5 minute walk from the main building. Whilst this walk to your room was a pain, I can honestly say that the size and quality of the room was one of the best we have ever had on a package holiday. The pool is not huge, but for the size of hotel it is ample and we never had a problem getting loungers (the Hotel has signs everywhere stating that you cannot reserve loungers with towels, and believe it or not whilst we were there this really happened, if you got to the Pool by 9am you would get 1st choice). The food was ok, Breakfast consisted of Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Beans,Tomatoes and 2 other hot items hash browns, mushrooms, Onion rings? etc, in addition to the standard cereals pastries & toast (watch out for the toaster, sometimes it starts reversing, we saw at least 2 fires whilst we were there). Lunch was our favourite meal of the day with 4 main choices + rice, chips and salad. Evening meals tended to resemble what had been served at lunch time + a couple of pasta sauces and minus the chips, although it was ok for a week, I think I would have been struggling to eat it for a fortnight. Don't expect too much from the desserts it was the same pastries each night. Generally we found the staff to be really friendly and helpful except for the miserable *** that worked the pool bar during the daytime. I think overall this hotel is a good standard but not somewhere you come home and rave about to your friends.

Room Tip: Rooms 401 upwards are in the separate block, so request a low room number if you want to be close to...

just stayed here for 2 weeks in july 2013, and found the hotel spot on for what i wanted, very quite and very relaxing with helpful and friendly staff, there was a public bus stop right outside the hotel that we used on several occasions, trip to lindos what a fantastic little town with the acropolis on top of the hill .3.5 euros each to rhodes town or lindos,if i was being picky the only faults i could find with the hotel was a shortage of sunbeds ,( another 20 and there would be enough ) and the showers were very small ,but all in all i would use this hotel again

Hotel Anavadia is all inclusive and was great for us as we didn't want a busy and noisy hotel, it only has 40 rooms and ideal for people that just want to relax, only takes 5 - 10 mins to walk into Kolymbia town, the Paradise bar in family run and it nice, the shops and restaurant/bars and busy at night. Bus available to take you to other towns, trips available through the rep or in Kolymbia town. We found that the food was good to we never had any complaints, but some expected a bit more. Room are clean and comfortable. We would recommend this hotel as we have been there two years September 2011 and September 2012 and would go back any time. Not for small children as there is no play area. Sun beds are plenty, people do put their towels on and reserve the sun beds but we found that they were always available, but if you wanted to sunbathe in the same spot every day then you just get up early and put your towel on. We had not trouble at all, The staff were always pleasant, Flora and Anna especially. We cannot see how anyone could complain about this hotel, only if they were expecting to much. WE WILL BE GOING BACK!!!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms are either ground floor or first floor, we prefer first floor

Currently staying here in Aug 13 and having a wonderful stay.
The staff are attentive and polite and the rooms and hotel spotless.

If you are travelling here, it is a very small hotel and does not offer what chain hotels do. It's not for small children but older families would benefit as teenagers can have freedom while on site.

The food is lovely. Good variety and quality. The feta is a must try!!

All in all a hood hotel, for a quiet getaway!

We stayed here at the end of June for one week. We didn't really know what to expect as we had only visited the Greek Islands on Cruise trips which of course doesn't give you an all out experience of any destination. Our flight was with Germania Airlines which Olympic have chartered especially for this years season, very impressed if you are comparing with Easy Jet etc and Thomsons/Thomas Cook, good leg room, good head room, good service and TV screens. We will be looking out for this airline travelling from Manchester in the future.

The hotel is very nice, clean and attended to in all areas. Reception is the hub and the staff were especially helpful giving travel advice, bus routes, prices, etc.

Dining could be a pleasant experience, but during our stay the food was a bit hit and miss, didn't bother us because we went out to different parts of the island everyday, however did catch the evening meal a few times and found enough to keep us satisfied (we've not done AI before so nothing to compare to other AI hotels).

Nice pool area, but we didn't use it much and beds are reserved very early by the british! But there are plenty of beds and most areas get the sun all day so getting a bed with shade was the problem.

Kolymbia is a tourist resort not a town/village we walked to a couple of the beaches and sun beds and umbrellas were available on both. There are many bars in the centre should you wish to stroll out after dinner.

Rooms are nice and we had a large balcony with mountain view, very pleasant.

During our stay there were four disagreeable holiday makers who complained about everything, yes everything, including children splashing them whilst swimming, during the week we think we only saw 3/4 very well behaved children, well done to the parents. The four complainers got stuck in a groove on a long playing record and tried to enlist other guests to join in on their tidal wave of moaning. This culminated in them reducing a female receptionist (very good at her job) to tears. Complete and utter bullies, one of the worst character traits in any human being and there were four of the 60+ aged travellers, they ruined their own holiday whilst others carried on enjoying theirs. I hope Olympic have not given them a penny back which was their objective to get some pennies back to go towards their next holiday to probably do the same again, and again, and again their lives must be one complete moan and their faces reflect years of doing this.

Back to the hotel, the rest of the guests were lovely and often got together in the evening to talk about them, no Rhodes and the lovely holiday they were having at the hotel.

We loved it and weighed everything up and looked at what we had paid against what we had gained and that was a lovely holiday. Give it a try and enjoy your holiday.

Room Tip: A mountain view room is lovely

The hotel is clean and located in a very quiet area in nature. It has about 40 rooms, and those who expect animation will be very disappointed. From the window you can see the mountains and goats grazing .. Therefore you could have uninvited guests in room: grasshoppers, spiders, mice or snakes if you leave the door open to the room.
We were staying in an unfinished wing of the hotel, situated about 200 meters from the reception area and it is not comfortable to go away when the sun is 36 degrees.
In general the food is good, but not very diversified.
The area is pretty desolate, with few shops.
The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos and not well sanitized, because I got sick of otitis and I had to take antibiotics.
Beaches buses come 3 times per day and the distance is about 1 km and a half, so it is pretty much walking.

Room Tip: avoid the rooms far away from the reception area

We originally booked for the Koala Hotel (which is awful) but on the night we got there (1:30am) we got told that they were full (even though we booked in months in advanced.) We got taken to the Anavadia which was the best thing that hotel ever done for us!
We had a sleepless night the night we got there due to not knowing what was really going on. We spoke to the receptionist, and even though she didn't really know what was going on, she let us use the reception telephone to ring up who we had to, and she said to go and enjoy the sun and she will come and talk to us if she finds out anything.
We got to stay for 5 days and it was just such a lovely hotel. We were in room 510, so we were out in the extension, but the views from the room was lovely and the rooms were impressive. The food and the drink were great and I happily lazed around the hotel.
Even though on the day we had to leave, we got told with not much time in advance at all, I still really enjoyed our stay there. We went back to the Koala and all we wanted to do was to go back!
If we go back to Rhodes, we will definitely look into booking at the Anavadia straight away!
