We stayed in the Ixia building with free AC, 3 beds and a fridge, and three balconies of different sizes. The only bad thing about the room was that our neighbours were loud and kept their door open which made it sound like their kids were actually in our room (but that's not the hotel's fault), and the beds were kind of hard but that wasn't a big problem. Very clean and spacious. The hotel is on a restaurant and pub street that will take you straight to Rhodos city by bus or taxi in just a few minutes. The bus ticket is € 2.20 and can easily be bought in the mini market just outside the hotel entrance.

The buffet was fresh and tasty, the feta cheese was especially delicious! The service at the reception and restaurant was very good, friendly and welcoming. We will always remember the smiling faces of Kostas, Niko, Christos and colleagues, thank you for making us feel at home!

The pool area is big enough for everyone and the pool is nice with many sunbeds and umbrellas, close to the pool bar with drinks, snacks and ice cream. Dimitris in the bar is friendly and will help you out but he keeps a straigh face at all times! Let me know if you see anything that resembles a smile. The silent DJ plays hits from the 80-90's that will make you sing along and dance even though you didn't plan to!

All in all this is a hotel with great value and we warmly recommend it to anyone planning to come to Rhodos.

We have been travelling for over 2 months now through Asia and Greece and have until now, not felt the need to write a review on Trip Advisor. We have stayed in dozens of hotels/apartments in Greece and we understand that their standard of service is quite different to what you would normally expect in other countries. However this aparthotel was appalling in so many ways:

- Charge 3 euros per day for wifi that didn't work properly (took over 15 mins to load our bank browser page). Don't mind paying for wifi that works, not happy to pay when it doesn't and the staff couldn't care less.

- Beds were rock hard, felt like they were trying to buck you off them when you laid down.

- No mattress or pillow protectors and stains so bad on the mattress that you could see them through the sheet.

- Pillows were filthy, stained yellow all over and stunk.

- Cleaner barged into the room on 2 of 3 mornings between 9.20 and 9.45am. Knocked as she put the card in the door and opened it. Bad luck if we happened to be not decent. No do not disturb cards were available.

- No hot water if you shower after 8pm.

-No lid on the toilet paper bin in the bathroom. In case you aren't aware, you can't put toilet paper in the toilet in most places in Greece.

- Air conditioner was totally useless. I think it was in desperate need of having the filters cleaned. We couldn't reach it though as it was so close to the ceiling.

- The curtain in the bedroom was totally ineffective in keeping light out.

- It is supposed to be 4 star so we were happy to pay a four star price. We have paid half this price in other Greek hotels that have been far nicer and cleaner and nicer locations.

- As we said, the gardens were very nice, even though at times you had to walk through the sprinklers in the middle of the afternoon to get to and from the pool.

Room Tip: Don't bother staying here until they at least address the hygiene issues - stains on beds etc.

The Poseidonia Aparthotel delivers exactly what is to be expected from an aparthotel. Our room in the main building was a two roomer, sparsely decorated in terms of both decoration, furniture and utensils.

The main bed room had two beds, not to our surprise quite hard. A relatively small tv (didn't matter - we weren't here to watch tv), a couple of night stands and that was more or less it. The secondary bed room had two separate, equally hard beds and nothing more.

Our balconies faced west, which would have been nice, had it not been for the four story building Blue Eyes blocking our view of anything other than another balcony. Fortunately, the Blue Eyes building did not have any residents at this time of the season.

The pool area was nice with a pool bar serving all sorts of drinks and snacks, and there was a pool for kids as well as grown ups. Apart from the water being as cold as the Behring sea, it was a nice pool area.

The buffet for both breakfast and dinner were of great variety, though mostly in quality. Breakfast usually offered the same things day after day, a relatively safe bet. The dinner did vary, and there were days with excellent dishes such as Stifado and Kleftiko. Most of the dishes were underseasoned, which I can understand, to better suit the needs of the clientel.

All in all, the hotel is very noisy - I swear, I could hear the guy go to the toilet one floor up and two roms away.

And yet, I would love to come back.

Why, do you ask?

Because of the people and the location. I have yet to meet such a dedicated, friendly and service minded crew at any of the hotels - especially chartered hotels. The location, close to the airport, just a €9 drive from Rhodes City and a 5 minute walk to the beach, makes this the ideal get-away-from-the-concrete-hell in ie Falirakis.

If you have the chance and don't mind the everyday noise from actually living here - not just staying in a hotel-exclussive area of the island - then stay here. And please give our best to Costas, Christos and the rest of the gang. They are really, really lovely people, every single one of them.

My girlfriend and I stayed one week in the Posidonia Hotel in August 2011 and was so happy about the place that we booked another holliday here in September 2012.

And the impression from 2011 was still intact when we went home from this year vacation.

The rooms are exelent large and with a beautyfull view.

The Staff with special regards to: Kostas, Christos, Yannie and Nicko made the stay perfect. Always smiling and extremely friendly and helpfull.

We will be back again next year that is for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the Atrium building level 3 to 6 it's perfect
