My husband and I stayed at the Forum Beach hotel in May 2012. Initially, the layout of the hotel looked good. However, the room we stayed in was near the back of the hotel overlooking a cabbage plant which smelt of sewage at different times of the the day. The room consisted of one bedroom and one living area/kitchenette. We didn't use the living area as you could hardly class the seats as sofas. The bedroom was very average and I wouldn't class it as 4*. There was a tv and air conditioning but we didn't use either as you had to pay to use them. Additionally, the room was infested with mosquitos. We found a number of mosquitoes and other insect flattened onto the walls of the rooms. Consequently, we left the room with at least another 20 flattened mosquitoes on the walls. My husband in particular was bitten a number of times over his head and face which was why we resorted to a killing spree half an hour before bedtime. It was successful on most occasions, but somehow, the nifty little creatures managed to make their way into the room to devour my poor husband. The bathroom was average. The room was cleaned most days but the bathroom was not cleaned to a good standard. In one instance, the cleaners took our towels and didn't replace the toilet rolls. These were replaced untimely after my husband had an 'accident' in the bathroom. The room was very dark but that was ok since we wanted the lights off most of the time. The food was good and plentiful. I've read some reviews complaining about the food but I found there to be quite a large selection of options for the buffet especially since neither me or my husband eat meat. The restaurant owner was really friendly and helpful. The drinks were watered down but we didn't mind as we were dehydrated from the stuffy non-air conditioned room. We didn't use the spa as we found it to be quite expensive. It didn't seem to me that anyone else used the spa facilities either. The beach was close by and is very pretty but bear in mind that it is a stoney beach and is very painful if you venture into the cold waters. However, we did scooter up to Faliraki one day and the beaches there were gorgeous and sandy. Plus it's alot less windy at that end so the sea is warmer. The entertainment was mind-numbingly painful and repetitive to the point where we walked out most nights. One thing I found out to be very annoying were the Germans who wouldn't stop staring at us. My husband and I are British Asian and found it really unnerving that every time we entered a room, walked by the pool, spoke (and breathed!!!), we were stared at. Not friendly stares either! But maybe that's because we're both drop-dead gorgeous?! All that said, the value for money for the holiday was very good. Considering how much we paid, we were very happy with the whole holiday and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. This was mostly as we didn't spend one day by the pool or at the hotel but instead spent most of our trip out and about around the Island.

The staff on Forum beach are exellent. The kids loved them. The dinner was not good enough for the 2 smallest kids, so I asked the staff if they could make something for them. And it was no problem with that. Everyday for lunch it was pizza and gyros with the pool, and other food in the resturante. The show in the evening was nice for the kids. We would love to go back to Forum beach.

It is OK but is over infested with Germans who dont tend to be very polite. The breakfast and meals tend to be all much the same. The entertainment just plays the same tapes all the time. There is a mini disco which has played exactly the same music all 6 times we have heard it.Drinks are watered down. There is no way I should be able to type this after what I have drunk.
On the plus side the staff are friendly and the location is quite good.

Wanting to go back to Rhodes, we were excited about the holiday.

First impression of hotel was really good, reception and pool areas were exceptional, so we were all happy until we got to our rooms, they were extremely dated, all dark wood, and very very dark not welcoming at all. We were told we would have a Pool & Garden view, which we did but it would have been a lot nicer if the pool was full and the garden view was an empty field and our view was the hotel behind us. The beach was 2 mins from the hotel, but no bar or anywhere to have a drink unless you went back to the hotel. Apart from that it was quite nice!!!

Food was'nt too bad at all, but we felt we had had enough of eating the same thing every night so decided we would go out for a change. The local restaurants are really good. Sports bar was excellent, and the locals were very welcoming.

We would advise if you want to travel around the island to go and hire a quad, we had really good fun on ours and travelled all around for just 25 Euros for the day, exceptional value. A bus trip into Rhodes is well worth the visit.

I would go back to Rhodes but would definately find a better hotel.....

Room Tip: It seemed to us that if you were German, Russian or Dutch you had the best rooms, so no advice as fc...

All in all the hotel is a disgrace! We had so many problems! Went away for a week as soon as we got there there were discusting frankfurt or omelette sandwiches and hard cakes and biscuits, we were disappointed but give it a chance like you do! We later the next day discovered the sandwiches were filled with the left over Frankfurt or omelette that were not eaten from the breakfast! The food was shocking all the same thing every single day, there was never anything different! We resorted to eating out, we spent so much money extra because we just couldn't cope with the food! I am pregnant so was drinking only soft drinks which were WATERED DOWN! Yes that's right the soft drinks! I was getting a stomach ache every single day because the food was left overs or drinks were just half water half soft drink! We resorted to buying drinks for our room, then discovered these were all going off because the cleaners turn the fridge off to save electric!!!! I thought we were paying for this in the disgraceful prices but clearly not! We were told in a leaflet to be quiet between certain times of the day as this was Greek law however was woken up 4-5 times a night by the noisy games machines! We suffered and I really mean suffered the meals some days to save money and when we did have mainly chips because that was all we could stomach the staff commented about how much we had eaten and drunk! The leaflet also said we were to not abuse the all inclusive privilege! We were discusted b this!! The swimming pool had no water in the whole week we were there! The spa facility was closed until the morning we left! We were told by local bar owners we got talking to that everyone goes out for dinner and drinks elsewhere from forum beach because it's discusting and we were told the hotel is loosing money and going broke therefore are cutting down on food, electricity, air con, repairs and water bills to save money! The receptionist seemed to be shocked when we continuously complained throughout the week and we asked to move was told no this was impossible however we met a family in the airport on the way home who were moved on to a different hotel due to complaining about the same things we did! We were also a bit confused as to why we see the receptionist give the hotel manager photos that had been copied from every guests passports! We were worried about this!! We complained to Groupon and the hotel and still have not heard anything!! Seriously do not waste money or your holiday here it is a disgrace and we lost alot of money! I will visit Greece again but NEVER go back to this discusting hotel! I hope they do go broke because people won't loose money and waste there holiday like we did!

just got back form a holiday in Rhodes staying at the forum beach hotel, whilst the complex is in need of some maintence, we had a great time , the staff are excellent friendly and fun, the food was very exceptable for a buffett and there was something for everyone, you wouldnt stave. The beach joined to the hotel was great the sunbeds and parasols are brilliant, nice breeze which will keep you cool, no access to drinks however, you need to walk back to the hotel, which in fairness is very close 2 minutes. if you fancy a nightout ther are some great little bars in the town full of fun , i would definatly go back again, we loved it

Room Tip: choose a pool side room

Came back from the Forum Beach on the 10 may,had a really enjoyable week, the staff were fantastic.
Really friendly reception, just like to mention Dimitri and merala in the bar great people.
It was my wife,s birthday, and she received a bottle of wine and a card from the hotel, which was left in our room when we returned from dinner, a really nice touch.
The staff in the restaurants our very friendly, the manager a really nice bloke.
The reason for the 3 rating is we felt the hotel rooms needed upgrading, especially the bathrooms.
also the lift in our block was broken,so we had to use the stairs.
But we feel it is what you make of a holiday, and we had a good time.
One last thing we loved the food, and the drinks in the main restaurant were on tap

Room Tip: Rooms over looking the main pool are the best
