What a fabulous hotel, we checked in at almost midnight and the receptionist was very helpful and advised that the restaurant had been opened for us to have soup if needed but we opted to go to the bar instead and was greeted by the lovely barman Bill who was great throughout our stay and mixed some great drinks and we had some lovely chats with him. The room (348) was fabulous with a view to die for and the biggest bed we have ever seen which was so comfortable that even as the world's biggest insomniac I managed to sleep amazingly every night, everywhere was kept spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant was the best all inclusive food we have had and Julia was just amazing and kept the restaurant running smoothly, she always had a smile and time for a chat, nothing was too much trouble, she is a real credit to the Hotel. The staff at the pool bar were also great, Jenny quickly got to know our usual drinks and also quickly learnt when I was changing from beer at 4 o`clock to a cocktail, the entertainment crew - Dan the man (Shabba) Caroline and Jelle were always busy but wouldn't push you to join in if you didn't want to. Overall we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and can't wait to go back. We lived the dream - Yamas

Room Tip: Choose a sea view

We stayed for a week all inclusive and have to say it was brill. We usually eat out (even on all inclusive) 2 or 3 times a week just to have a bit of variety but the food was so good and varied in the Ialyssos that we only ate out one night and then regretted it because it wasn't as nice!

We arrived at 2am, friendly greeting and offered soup as others have mentioned. We stayed in one of the 'cottages' which were nice and roomy and a good sized balcony. Room cleaned every day by friendly cleaners and towels left. The hotel itself was clean and airy with a medium sized pool and large grassed areas where you can pull up a sun lounger. Very quiet and peaceful in garden areas, ideal for sun bathing and reading.

The beach is a 2 minute walk and also is quiet and peaceful with good views of Turkey. Sunbeds are 5 Euro a day to local restaurant or 8 Euro for two. We found it worth it because the the pool area got very busy each day. There is a 'strip' of shops, bars and restaurants within 10-15 minutes pleasant walk from the hotel offering quite good variety and reasonable prices.

Bus stop 10 mins walk from hotel takes you into Rhodes town which was 3 Euro each way. You absolutely have to visit the old town in Rhodes. Very close to the bus stop and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Be aware when asking for a large beer in the old town. I got a 2 litre, wellington boot shaped glass which cost 18 Euro! Being English I wasn't leaving it though and drank every drop!

The Ialyssos Hotel has tennis courts, small football court/pitch, table tennis, internet area and entertainment each night. Entertainment was cheesy as hell but who cares?! Adds to the feeling of being away methinks.

I have one small criticism. Only 2 bars which got quite busy some nights. We were there first week in June so I can imagine it will be very busy in July and August and a 3rd bar would be better.
As I said in the title the lager and wine is quite good and the spirits are local but full strength, not the usual watered down nonsense you get in all inclusive.

We would definitely go back to this hotel as we paid a cheap price and received really good accommodation, food and drink.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room as for one of the 'cottages'. They are away from the pool in lovely, quiet garden areas.

Firstly this hotel is fantastic for everyone! As we were dropping people off at various hotels I was getting slightly worried at what our hotel was going to be like! As soon as we walked through the reception we was greeted warmly by the hotel staff, also very quick check in! We arrived late so was able to go straight to bed!
The hotel is spotless! From the dinning room to the pool area. You can tell this hotel is very well run, and all staff are very friendly! Especially the animation team! Activities are on everyday, so you never get bored.
The rooms are spotless too! Very clean! We was on the 3rd floor very good views! Some reviews say the 3rd floor was noisy, we had minimal problems, just depends who your neighbours are!
The food is fantastic, never a bad meal and there is something for everyone!
The drinks are local, and they were not to my taste, that is the only downfall! Even the water wasn't very nice! We had to buy drinks from the shop or local shops, they are very cheap! About £1 for a cider and about 30/40p for a coke!
The beach area is very pebbly so we didn't really bother with that.
Pool area gets very busy quickly but we always managed to get a bed.
You can get snacks all day too and they weren't bad either.
Not much to do in the area, not far to walk or much to see, but Rhodes Town is only 10 mins away!
Very glad we went to this hotel and recommend it to anyone!
