Had an enjoyable week at this hotel. The rooms have been refurbished since our last stay and are much improved, very nice. The only downside were the extremely hard mattresses !! The main restaurant food was varied and plentiful. The wine was an acquired taste...white better than red !!! We spent time on the beach and around the pool. The beach was somewhat quieter with no music etc and it also had a welcome cooling breeze !! My only complaint would be the cost of keeping your room, should you have a late flight home. The current charge is 60 Euros !!!!....the most we have ever had to pay. There is a courtesy room available but you have to book when they say, on the day of departure, to get a timeslot !! Would return again though...had a nice relaxing time. the planes weren't a problem to us at all !!

Room Tip: We asked for an upper floor quiet room...away from the entertainment, .

To be honest, I am amazed at some of the negative comments being posted about this hotel. My wife and I have just returned from a week at the Electra Palace and went with realistic expectations given the reviews and cost.
We stayed last year at the Dalaman Hilton last year which is a genuine 5 Star and cost twice as much.
Not sure what people expect. The hotel states and previous reviews showed that it was a little out the way (one of the reasons we chose it). So here is a summary of the good and not so goods.
Positives :
-very friendly staff
-excellent Chinese restaurant (allowed one sitting per week)
-ok food selection in main buffet restaurant
-ok drink selection
-reasonable rooms, regular linen and towel changes
Negatives:
-Sunbeds very hard!
-Airconditioning not very powerful
-towels on sunbeds from 7am! (Still plenty of beds)
-chargeable wifi

In summary this is a decent hotel in a quiet location.
If you go with realistic expectations you will enjoy- ignore the moaners!

Room Tip: We were in the annexe room 478 overlooking the pool.

Have just spent a week in this lovely hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful and would happily stay there again .
Our room was very clean and the crisp white bed linen was changed several times . Found the bed was hard , but putting a blanket under the sheet helped , then next day the room maid put mattress toppers on without us asking .
The food selection is very good and lovely fresh salad, especially the rocket . I try to avoid desserts but some of them were very tempting and delicious . Water melon at lunch and dinner was lovely . The cakes at tea time are the best I have eaten in anAI hotel . Fresh flowers on each table was a nice touch too . The Italian restaurant was ok but thought Chinese was better , but it is lovely to be able to sit outside
So no free wifii ! And a stoney beach and hotel under flight path for landing , all of which we were aware of and didn't bother us at all . If you are out and about some tavernas have free wifii
Thought the AI drinks menu a bit limited but was quite happy drinking martini and lemonade but if you are keen on cocktails you would be dissapointed .
We enjoyed the entertainment , the animation team do a good job with very limited resources and the live Rock Band was very good .
Yes the hotel is on it's own but we found that preferable to being surrounded by large hotels and a short transfer time a bonus .
Unless you are particularly fussy don't be put off by other reviews we were very pleased with our choice

Room Tip: We were in the "annexe " and the room overlooked the swimming pool , it got sunshine from...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week in this hotel and I can only say that it seemed too short: we didn't want to come back at all!
The staff are all really nice and helpful, and the food is much better than in other all-inclusive hotels (especially in the Chinese and Italian restaurants... the Italian is definitely a must at lunch time since you can take advantage of the terrace and stay outside). The drinks are just OK: only the beer and some cocktails are good enough, and it's a pity that only a quarter of the menu is free.
The animation team tries very hard to get people to participate in the activities, which proves almost impossible as most of the people are just trying to bask in the sun or sleep. A special mention for Andrea and Ludmila, who make our last couple of days really fun :)
However, the night shows were quite bland, maybe with the exception of the rock night. There is room for improvement here.
Our room (on the sixth floor, pool side: very calm and with a good view and a huge terrace) was always very proper, thanks to our super kind cleaning lady (sorry, I didn't catch the name). The only downside was that our safe didn't work and, although we told it at reception on our first day, they didn't repair it. Also, the bed is a big small for a couple and somewhat too hard, but we still enjoyed our sleep.
Regarding the location, it is quite peaceful once you get used to the planes passing by for landing at the near airport. The sea is lovely although you need special shoes to go down into the beach (many more pebbles than I expected!). The hotel is also very close to Rhodes, which is a must!
To finish, some drawbacks. The Wi-Fi is not free in any area of the hotel, which I find a bit shocking considering the high standard of the rest of the services. In addition, although they offer all the World Championship matches in both lounges, the bars close at 23:45 no matter what, which we found a bit annoying because you are forced to have warm drinks or not drink at all if you want to watch the last match of the day.
But all in all, it has been a very nice experience and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

So where do I start:
Arrival: arrivals was quick, fast & simple, reception staff are lovely and porter was too.
Room: the room was lovely with good view of the pool, although lack of English channels (only sky news) and no excess to an iron, had to pay for each item to be ironed, also have to pay for wifi, which the amount we paid I would if thought these would be free! The room was cleaned very well everyday.
Food: pretty repetitive throughout the stay, pretty much had chicken every meal and desserts were shocking! Snacks in the afternoon are nice but not enough, run out quickly.
Entertainers: they try their best efforts but only pick certain people who they talk too. Not giving everyone a chance which is why not many people joined in on activities, same people joining in everyday. Entertainment at night is pretty poor too, again entertainers don't encourage people to join in, and entertainment starts at 9 and by 10.30/11 it's dead it the entertainment area.
Bar: bar staff are lovely and appreciate pleases and thank you's, as they're a lot of foreigners that don't, and come across rude. We found hardly any English were they when we were. The vodka is pretty shocking, tastes like crap, beer is good and would recommend peach schnapps and lemonade.
Surroundings: the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, a 20 mins walk to a few shops. I would advise going to Rhodes town on a night, so beautiful with lots of bar and shops with beautiful views which is 18euros in a taxi to get there! Think buses run too.
Beach: the beach is connected to the hotel, the sea is lovely and clear but very stoney, no sand.

I would only recommend this area if you're looking to just relax and not venture out, there is no nightlife either. Wouldn't call it a 5* more like a 3*

We are currently away in this hotel and I wanted to write this review before anyone else wastes their money! It is terrible! It is not 5*, more like 2/3*!! The food is bland and a rubbish selection , they don't restock the mini bar you had paid for, no snacks available throughout the day and the wine tastes like vinegar. The entertainment is... You guessed it! Unbelievably poor! I'm sorry if you have booked already and are reading this review. Kind Regards someone currently on holiday at the horrible hotel!
