“Dodgy start, but nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Arrived at Electra Palace early evening, on arrival we were asked if we would like dinner before the restaurant closed, which was nice as we hadnt eaten, The reception staff were very helpful and polite. Had a room on the 3rd floor overloooking the pool, However, once inside the room we found the safe was broken and the patio doors didnt lock, which we feel should have been sorted out before we arrived, when reported were fixed the next day. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding. We went for 10 days, the food was really nice and a good variety but did repeat itself after the 1st week. The bar service was good in all bars, with some international brands too. Must mention Kostas and George who were very friendly and efficient. We had 3 nights of outside entertainment for the 1st week, which was ok, but the rest of the week was animation team who had the guests entertaining the guests, this was very poor. This again was repeated after 7 days. The hotel is a mile from any shops or restaurants unless you walk along the beach, which is not advisable if you are disabled. We didnt sunbathe on the beach as the grassed area behind the beach was bare and dusty. The pool area is very pretty, lovely gardens with alot of shaded area's, very clean and tidy and no need to worry about sunbeds as there were more than enough to go around. The Italian and Chinese restaurants were nice as well with a good choice. We were quite dissappointed having to pay for bottled water though, being on an all inclusive. On the whole, staff friendly, hotel very clean, good food and an enjoyable holiday.

Room Tip: Pool view was the must picturesque

Just returned from a one week stay at the Electra Palace.

Very clean hotel with friendly and attentive staff.

Also benefits from a seafront location, but as advised by previous reviewers, stony beach not sandy.

Robes, slippers, pool towels and room safe provided free of charge: a nice touch

But why oh why in this age of social networking do they charge for Wi Fi even in the public areas?

Only other gripe (and honestly i'm trying not to be a grumpy) 5 from 7 mornings no saucers for the coffee cup at breakfast. Walking across a busy dining room floor without one surely is an accident waiting to happen!

But to end on a high the general standard of catering was very high with a wide choice for all and a special mention for both the Chinese and Italian resturants: both were exellent. (Italian made an especially nice alternative to a buffet lunch and the pizzas and pasta were scrumptious).

Thank you staff at the Electra Palace Resort for making our holiday very pleasant and memorable.

We have just arrived home from a weeks stay at the Electra Palace, and my only concern was that on the first day of checking into the hotel we were moved next door to a hotel of a lesser standard. I must admit we were upgraded by way of apologies however it does stress you out initially. The following day a member of staff collected our cases and checked us into the hotel, whereby all of our expectations were met The choice of food was amazing, rooms were immaculate with fresh linen each day, pool area fantastic and staff very helpful indeed. As mentioned earlier it was the overbooked state that was upsetting, and I would question whether or not to book with a small company in future as I do believe that the smaller companies clients are the ones to be moved!!!

Room Tip: Go for the pool view! Although I am lead to believe that all rooms and views are brilliant.

We stayed at this hotel last year & after some initial problems with our room had a wonderful time. This year we returned with friends who were really impressed. Once again the hotel was perfect in every way. The food was excellent,as before, the hotel service And ALL STAFF very friendly. Rooms were always kept spotlessly clean, towels changed daily & bedding whenever requested.
Still can't understand why some reviews rate it lower than 4 star.
Did notice this year that it was busier than last but when it comes to finding a sun bed there are always plenty available. The grounds around the hotel are beautifully kept & there is ALWAYS a quiet area if thats what people prefer. The animation team weren't intrusive but there were daytime activities if you want to join in. Evening entertainment finishes about 11pm there are no late night discos.
Our friends were very impressed with everything the only one small complaint was that there is no courtesy room available for late flights & as the room has to be vacated at 12pm it makes the day quite long if there isn't a room to shower later in the day. If available you can extend your stay in the room you already had but it can be quite expensive.
New people might find the hotel a bit away from any night life but for my husband & I have been visiting Rhodes for over 14 yrs off & on Electra Palace is the place for us. Long may it continue to provide the excellent sevice that it does.

Room Tip: Sea view (which is quiet) or pool view which gives you a bit more life especially if you want to lis...

My partner and I booked this hotel because it had such very good reviews, we spent a little more than we wanted too, but thought it would be worth it. We arrived approx 2pm and were told that there were no rooms available until tomorrow. So we were moved to the hotel next door - not very good hotel at that! EVEN THOUGH guests were still checking in after us, the check in staff eventually stated that they have to look after the larger companies first.
PLEASE NOTE this is a regular occurence as many other couples were moved too.
I even e-mailed the hotel twice one to the mannager and one to the sales desk TWO days prior to departure requesting a high floor etc and didn't even get a response, now I know why????
It seems if you book with smaller companies your chances of being moved are higher.
Our 2nd time in the last 3 holidays
I asked to speak to the manager but he would be available ubtil 7pm he never acknowledged us

We were upgraded for the rest of our stay but the first day and a half was spoilt due to the stress Other than that the Hotel overall was very good but our holiday spoilt by bad management, profit 1st customer service 2nd - shame really

Beds and pillows are hard
Food luke warm but good choice
Clean hotel, nice pool, breasy on the beach - nice
Entertainment fairly ok for an all inclusive hotel
Staff are very good

This is a nice hotel, by definately not four star plus. Rooms nice, bed slightly hard, but not the worst we have had. Pool area and beach area lovely. Food better some days than others, but on the whole it was okay. Fairly good choice. Staff mostly ok, loved anna, in the restaurants. One hitch which we feel they should put right, asap, you have to leave your room at 12 noon, wanted 60 euros, yes 60 to keep it on til 6pm. We were told we could have a room, between 3 and 6 for a shower, fine, we decided on that. Went to reception for room number and key at 4.30pm, no rooms available!! We were told to go to the outside shower cubicle, which was covered in sand and soaking wet from previous showers, no where to hang clean clothes, no hairdryer etc etc. it was a farce! Why not just build a small shower block with proper amenities, apparently this happens alot there. Was told we usually have rooms, but are full up today... Otherwise nice hotel, and we had a very good holiday.

We stayed here for one week and had a great time. Staff is very friendly, the hotel is very clean (not very common in Greece) and the food was great (especially the Italian restaurant).
The hotel is located a 15 minutes walk from the center of the village. The advantage is that the neighborhood is very quiet but on the other hand walking to the shops and restaurants takes some time. The landing planes can disturb you if you are sensitive to these noises. For us it was not a big deal.
The beach is a pebble beach so you need shoes to get into the water.
