“Still Good 14 Years On.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

On our first visit to Rhodes Town 14 years ago we came across Yiannis Taverna, We ate there most nights. We've just returned from another visit to Rhodes and found Yiannis just as good as ever. Its still run by the same family - mother still in her traditional costume!
The food is good quality traditional Greek fare. The house wine very good. Service is very good and friendly. Prices are the most reasonable we came across in the Old Town.
So if you are thinking of eating in Rhodes Old Town don't miss out on this gem.

“Wonderful home-cooked food at a reasonable price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

This restaurant served some of the very best Greek food we have had. It is a small, family operated place and the food was so delicious that we had dinner there four of the days that we were in Rhodes! Yia Yia (grandma) is usually out front, dressed in traditional clothing to greet people when they enter.

The service was excellent and they even offered us a complimentary side dish to taste! We are looking forward to our next trip to Rhodes so we can go back to Yiannis! Simply outstanding!

“quaint experience, great eating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

The food came in large portions superbly prepared and with a lot of variety (for instance the souflaki came with several side dishes, and even the greek salad was rich and interesting) at low prices. The decorations and atmosphere is very casual, not fancy but having personality.

“Greek hospitality at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Wandered round the Rhodes old town and looked at the overpriced 'Vulture Row restaurants'. We then went down a narrow side street and found this treasure which was run by a very friendly generous family. We were tempted inside by the lady wearing Greek traditional dress, An old man was straightening out vine leaves ready for stuffing. We had a mixed Greek platter for 2, it cost us 16 euros and the moussaka was so good I had to return the next night for more. We were given a 'present' of a salad starter and a mixed fruit platter for desert. Both were excellent and the prices so reasonable

“always welcoming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013

No matter what time you visit you get a great welcome, good place to go if you are staying in the mareblue hotel, after the bar is closed,

The place is lively for late night drinking and entertainment and good value for money

They will also do pizza to go if you are feeling peckish
