Lomeniz a nice hotel with friendly staff.

Big pool area with free sunbeeds and clean water.

Breakfast was very good, buffé with a lot of different things to eat to make your stomach glad.

Near to the beach, only 5 minutes walk and it is also many small greek tavernas near to the hotel.

If you want to go to the city you can take a taxi for 5 euro or the bus for 1 euro, and if you want to take a walk it takes about 25 minutes.

We can definitely stay in this hotel next time we are visiting wonderful Rhodes.

good value for money Friendly staff, free wifi, decent food though not much varied, close to the beach(3 min walk) a bit far from Rhodes town(20 min walk), the bus stop within 10 min walk there are almost no shops or other hotels nearby, the area is actually quiet as its it's residential

Our stay at the Lomeniz was very enjoyable - the rooms were very clean and unlike others we only had breakfast included in our deal. The breakfast was more than adequate so if you are not a friend of fried food there are several healthier options for you. I heard from others the lunches and dinners were very repetitive. I would suggest you take the opportunity to attend the local tavernas such as "o Aris" where you can feast on less than 13 euro per person - barbecued meats, chips, huge greek salad, homemade feta cheese etc.... and beer served in iced glasses. Ask the locals for good food places. The only complaint about the Lomeniz is the lift was always out of service. Staff were very apologetic.

Reading some of the other reviews reminded me of the line from Fawlty Towers where Basil asks of the unhappy guest, "Well, may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain?" .. "Don't be silly. I expect to be able to see the sea!" .. "You can see the sea. It's over there between the land and the sky"

So, the Greek hotel, on Rhodes, in Greece, serves essentially a Greek continental breakfast with a selection of breads, cold meats, eggs, cheese, some fruit and various juices along with coffees. In addition there is a nod to the Brits with some cereals, bacon, sausages, beans, rolls and tea. And the complaint is.. they don't do toast!! Well they don't do McDonald Big Macs either but hey, McDonalds do them so if Toast is such a big "Must have" then rather than a holiday on a Greek island, in Greece then perhaps a wee cottage in the highlands might be more appropriate. They may even do porridge!!

Similarly, yes.. the hotel is about a whole 20 min walk from the historic Old Town. Infact it is pretty much exactly located where it says it is located in its online description. The map it provides shows where it is. It seems surprising that anyone can be disappointed that they find a hotel which advertises itself as a 20 min walk from the Old Town is, err, a 20 minute walk from the Old Town. On the other hand, it only took a couple of minutes to walk past the lovely hotel pool and cross the road and end up at the nice local beach. Funnily enough, the pool looked exactly as did did in the online photos and fitted the description given. I don't think anyone came along and knocked down the Pool Bar and Ice Cream Shop... there wasn't one.

I know you can't please all the folk all the time but hey, the hotel was clean, the rooms were fairly spacious, the air conditioning was effective and at no extra charge, the lifts worked, the staff were friendly and helpful and the wifi in the large spacious lobby and bar area was free.

The food.. ok it wasn't exactly what you might find down the Nags Head pub at lunchtime or what you might get in Weatherspoons at Dinner Time. It was more a selection of food you might find in, err.. well, Greece!!

The funny thing about it all is that most folk who were at the hotel probably booked it because it was actually cheaper than most of the others. They say you get what you pay for. I think the hotel was far better than you might have expected from the price and pretty much exactly as described. Mind you, a view of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon would have gone down well I suppose

While there were definitely good things about the hotel - the staff was nice enough, our room had clearly been refurbished fairly recently, the bar was pretty good and the breakfast was very good for a 3 star hotel (or at least, there were a lot of choices, and mostly things were edible), there were also some things that were kind of shocking. We didn't bring towels with us, because we had assumed, based on our past experience staying at hotels at this level, that we would be able to use towels from our room for the pool. Apparently not - you aren't allowed to use the hotel towels at either the hotel's pool or the nearby beach. We soon found out why this was - after buying towels and going to the beach for a few hours, when we came back to our room, which had been made up, but our used bath towels had been taken away, without replacements being brought. We wanted to shower after having been at the beach, so we went down to reception to ask for clean towels, and were informed that there weren't any, since they were all in the wash, and we'd get some later. Since we often went to the pool in the morning, we ended up having to hide our used towels, just so the cleaning staff wouldn't take them away and leave us with no towels for showering. Additionally there was no hot water in the evenings - not pleasant when you come back to the room in the evening, after a long day trip in the hot sun. All in all I would have preferred to have a few less options at breakfast, and not have to hoard towels or plan my day around not being able to take a shower in the evening.
