“Quite simply dreadful”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

One staffvatvreception spoke no English so the other far too busy. Took an hour to check in as they couldn't find my booking.
All inclusive for the night I booked but it's like feeding time at the zoo and you get to wear a wristband. I was too embarrassed so will eat out.
Karaoke tonight in the bar so you need to like this style of hotel.
Safety deposit box 25 euro/ week
No wifi in rooms
Corridors very noisy
Very expensive for what it is and definitely not 4 star service.
Rooms ok. Pillows thin, mattresses cheap quality.
Bathroom nice
A/c is included
Just arrived and I feel miserable here!!

Room Tip: Not above the bar where karaoke is held

We had an excellent holiday there in July 2012. Great hotel especially because of friendly, helpful staff and fantastic food. We prefer to have HB and get a chance to try some other restorantes but food was so great (for my son pizza was the best) that we enjoyed all inclusive at this hotel without any regrets. Nothing negative to say about our stay. Definitely would return to stay at the hotel.

We stayed in Petit Palais for 10 days in August 2011. The location of the hotel is great, few minute from the beach and 10 min from the town centre. The staff in the hotel was fantastic, always ready to help and always a huge smile on the face. Food was also excellent.
The rooms were basic, but clean. And the pool is small, we never really went there.
In the end, we have pleasant memories of this hotel and would go back!

Just spent a week all inclusive at this hotel which is in a great location for everything Rhodes Town has to offer. But the most impressive point of all was the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, especially the restaurant. Meals are buffet style but there are plenty of waiting staff on hand who are always ready to fill up your coffee cup or fetch you a beer or a glass of wine, always with a genuine smile and a friendly expression. All staff have a very good command of English and some, like the restaurant manager seem to speak most European languages with fluency.
The room was large and very well appointed (fridge, TV set and most importantly in Greece in July, FREE Air Conditioning. A nice sunny balcony that looked out to the old town and the Grandmasters Palace on the hill. Only problem though is the numerous pigeons that occupy the roof and balcony areas at the rear of the hotel. It wasn't safe to leave clothing or towels out for too long as there was a good chance you would come back to find it covered in droppings.
Probably by Greek standards this would stand firm as a 4 star hotel but I think the building itself only barely makes it over the line, although we were told by fellow guests who visited the 5 star Mitsis Grand just around the corner that the Petit Palais was nicer.
Rhodes Town seems to be very popular with Scandinavians, especially Swedes and they seemed to be the majority holiday makers in the whole of the resort really but everyone was very well behaved and there didn't seem to be any great drink related problems. Just lots of happy people enjoying their holiday in the sun.
We hired a car from the Holiday Cars office, just a few doors away. The chap in there was very friendly and accepted cash for the hiring of a small almost new Hyundai for three days. Not giving a credit card over has obvious advantages but he didn't seem to mind in either event. The cost for three days was 75 euros and I drove over 400kms which in such a small engined but adequate car only came to 34 euros on refilling the tank.
Rhodes old town is a real history trip and worthy of at least two days alone. Exploring the narrow winding streets to reveal lovely restaurants and bars both during the day and at night was truly womderful.

Room Tip: Can't really comment but we requested a high room and were give the top floor. What more can I s...

My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed a week at this hotel in June. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a great location too just a 5 minute walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to the town itself. The pool is small and the sun beds were always taken early on in the morning so we tended to go to the beach rather than the pool, The balconies are not private and are quite small but they served their purpose and there was room for a table and 2 chairs. The rooms were cleaned everyday and there were always fresh towels in the bathroom. The Restaurant Manager always greeted everyone with a smile and, along with the rest of the restaurant staff, nothing seemed to be too much trouble The food was buffet style, there was plenty of choice and overall was very good. We would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet and get the morning sun

helpful man on reception spoke many languages we had asked for a quiet room so were put at the back on the 2nd floor, please note men are supposed to wear trousers for dinner thats what we were told!
restaurant manager very pleasant to deal with

the only negative (not really the fault of the hotel) was the smell of the drains in the bathroom
in hot weather

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back with a veiw of the swimming pool

We booked this Hotel last minute to get away from the Welsh weather, the weather was great. The Petis Palais is minutes away from the beach and a short walk from shops, bars etc. It is a great location for exploring the town of Rhodes both old and new are only 10 to 15 minute walk away. The staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was any trouble to them. The Hotel was very clean and room service changed the towels and made the bed daily. The harbour is only 10 minutes away if you want to go on a boat trip to nearby islands or Turkey, cheaper to book it direct at the harbour than through the reps at the hotel. The food was very good, although buffet style a lot of the meat was cooked at the hob as you waited. A wide variety of salads and fruit was available at lunch and dinner servings. If you wanted a table with an outside view you may have to wait at peak times, but the staff would call you when the table was ready as you waited in the lounge area with a drink. Entertainment was different, Elvis singer was entertaining but not Las Vegas standard !! Greek Dancing night was good, more entertaining if you take part ! Would certainly consider returning to this Hotel again in the future, only downside ,the swimming pool is small but the beach is only minutes away :)
