We stayed here in 2009 and since then some of the decor has tired however the overall pull of this hotel is still there. The food and culinary choices is just out of this world and so much of it for those foodies amongst you. The staff are so polite and helpful - two in particular stand out for me and I feel awful I didn't even take the time to look at their name badges but the staff in general go the extra mile to make the guests feel important and you know they are working so incredibly hard in order that the guest thoroughly enjoys their holiday. I promised I would give the Animation Team a mention as they all tried so desparately hard to get us to join in with the fun be it water polo/stretching/beach volleyball. My husband and I constantly said No as we were rooted to our sunbeds but they took it in good part! I love the fact there are 3 swimming pools so you can choose where you wish to relax. We will visit Amathus Beach a 3rd time.

Just returned from 11 night stay with family. We stayed in bungalow on the 11th floor, very nice, very quite and beautiful views.

Bungalow - not quite 5 star for abroad but comfy beds but again small pillows (why do they do this), basic room, bed, sofa, tv (not many channels) dressing table, hairdryer, fruit on arrival, small fridge, bathroom ok, same as most hotels really, cleaned daily but its just a quick wipe down and sort beds out and put towels back. Average size balcony with table and 2 chairs, dressing gowns and slippers are provided. One thing that let it down was that there was no kettle in the room, so if you did want to skip breakfast trying to get a drink first thing in the morning is abit hard, nice just to make your own so take a little travel kettle it would be well worth it. Room service is available.

Top pool, quite big, quiet, loads of free sunbeds, pool service (honestly can be really slow) so sometimes it easier to go to bar and order but then they will bring it to you. Food stops at 4pm but 6pm in the ground pool.

ground pool - very nice, gets busier than the top pool, food is served later, all daily activities take place in this area.

Food - lots of choice, all nice but you only have a small plate which i think takes away the 5 star feeling, the restaurant is very warm, always ask for a table outside. Men have to wear long trousers and a t-shirt, polo shirt or shirt (NO SHORTS) but women can wear whatever they please, all my family found this abit unfair as some women didnt even make a effort but all the men had too. Dont get me wrong the women just a bikini but as long as it is covered thats ok.
Children are ok wearing shorts.

Staff - very friendly and helpful, they will go out of there way to put things right for you, whatever you ask for they will do there very best to accomadate you.

Entertainment - abit hit and miss, the daily entertainment team are lovely always something going on, for all ages, evening entertainment is abit low key sometimes and also what the daily board says is not always going to happen.

Location - personally i dont think it is in a great location, yes rhodes town is only a short taxi drive away but it is very busy, outside the hotel there is only a handful of ok restaurants and bars and a few supermarkets that sell everything (clothes, shoes, souveniers etc) and all this is on a very busy and hot main road, there is no little meandering streets to go down.

views - yes the views are amazing, especially the sunset, planes come by daily across the bay, they dont bother you and you soon become unaware of the noise which isnt bad to begin with but it is there, put it this way you can tell which plane company is arriving.

beach - private beach with a under passage from the hotel to beach as it is across the main busy road - very stony, dark sand, warm but quite rough with a strong undercurrent. jet skiing and wind surfing available for hire just next to hotel beach, you dont get harrassed on the beach and again beach waiters available.

All in all, not 5 star, not alot to do in the area at all, food lovely but repetative, rooms lovely, some need abit of TLC, staff lovely and very helpful. Some good trips available and hotel will sort out for you. Just dont be afraid to ask for anything and definitely read your welcome pack in your room as they dont tend to tell you upon arrival what is available to you and what is not.

IF you area HB you can swap your meals around as long as you ask, ie: lunch instead of dinner or lunch instead of breakfast.

20 mins from airport, 17 euros - they will fit 5 in a taxi, i would not book return transfers as the taxi option is cheaper and there are loads at the airport.

Room Tip: The bungalows are set back on the top floor and very quiet, they dont have fantastic sea views but y...

Staff are attentive, friendly and fun. Waiter service is provided at poolside, beach and at your meals. Make sure you pack trousers, shirts and shoes for dinner time if you're a man. I was caught short and had to make a trip into Rhodes town to buy some. Drinks and food are quality, I was surprised to see Jim Beam offered as an all inclusive drink. The 10th floor bar and restaurant are lovely and the view whilst eating is amazing. I will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Very picturesque view from sea view rooms. The cheaper mountain view rooms still have an attractive...

My husband myself and 12 year old daughter have just arrived back today from the Amathus Beach Hotel, Rhodes. The location was great with fantastic sea views. Check in was first class, as we arrived late at night and the porter took our suitcases to the room which was on the 9th floor with a sea view. Restaurant was on the 10th floor and the food was lovely. Pools really nice and all the surroundings. Entertainment was great and wasn't over the top! Staff and the service are the best I have received for a long time and I have travelled to other European destinations. Nice to have waiter service for the drinks instead of queuing as in other hotels. Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff ( especially the pool staff ) who work really hard who did a terrific job at making our holiday a memorable one. Will definitely recommend this hotel and would love to visit again.

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra if you want a stunning view of the sea and island! We had a room on the 9th f...

On Wednesday we returned from a lovely holiday at the Amathus Beach Hotel, Rhodes.
We have been to this hotel before several years ago, and as it is our 35th wedding Anniversary this month we thought we would return to one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.
We where not disappointed. They made our visit extra special with a lovely room on the 9th floor, a sea view, and wine and fruit in our room on arrival. The staff at this hotel are second to none, so happy, helpful and friendly. The food is very good lots of choice and plenty of it. We where on AI board. This meant that on one evening we could eat in the Al a carte restaurant on the pool deck, this meal was beautiful, 5 course. Don't forget to book yours as they get pretty full. There is a no reserving sun bed policy which I think is very good. We have been to many hotels where people get up at 7am put towels on sun beds and then they don't come down to use them till 11 or 12 ish. There was some good entertainment on during the week, the band on Wed night I think it was were really good. Then the dancers at the Greek night where great. The Animation team performed a show for us one night, they are all young and enthusiastic about their jobs, and worked very hard, they were all lovely young people. All the hotel staff work very hard to ensure we enjoy our holiday. I hope we will be able to return to this lovely hotel again some day.
Thanks to you all for a lovely holiday.
PS Rhodes old town is amazing, just 8 euro in a taxi which is cheaper than the bus when 4 are traveling.

Room Tip: It is well worth paying the extra for a sea view room on a high floor, as Some of the mountain view...
