“Loved our holiday!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

We have just arrived back from a week all inclusive at this hotel and i didnt want to leave! 4th - 11th June 2014 - Couple aged 25 & 28

Hotel:
The hotels grounds and pools were great everything you would need, personally the adult pool was too quiet like deathly quiet, we prefered the bottom pool we only spent one day round the top pool. We loved sitting on the balconies next to the rodian bar as it was shaded and you could see all across Ixia. Our room was on the 7th floor and was a sea view it didnt disappoint us and rarely heard the room next door, only thing i would say was maybe a few more english TV channels and not the automatic promo show that goes on everytime you walk in room lol (rather annoying after the 5th day)

Food & Drinks:
The food was fantastic breakfast, dinner and tea and we never really got bored of it, one night in particular was great lots of meats, mussels etc.. You couldnt get bored at this hotel due to food. Drinks were the best i have ever had in a all inclusive i lived on cocktails every night (Frozen Margarita in particular :)), all spirits Jim Beam etc were strong :) We sat away from the bar one night and found it harder to get a drink as you were kind of pestering them however after that we sat at the bar every night not a problem in getting a drink if anything the opppsite way... The bar man on our first 4 nights was fantastic had a way of bringing everyone together remembered your drinks, previous conversations etc.. however he wasnt on the last three nights and it was noticable. The Blonde waitress was great so friendly always helpful.
On our last night we booked the Al a Carte which you are entitled to one trip during your stay... you want to book this its fantastic, food was lovely and the service was great never had an empty glass or you werent sat waiting with empty plates, its 5 courses so i wouldnt eat much before you go!!

Area:
We walked both sides of the hotel there is a few bars, shops, water sports, if you want more than that then its only 8 - 10 euros to Rhodes Town. I wouldnt suggest getting the bus we paid for the tickets and saw the busses jam packed people hanging near the doors and we choose taxi still have the bus tickets now.
We went on the Jetskis down at the beach whcih were very reasonable, we went to Rhodes town on the day which is a must see the Old town :) amazing views from the clock tower. We ventured to Faliraki for the Water park really good day however taxis are pricy 20 euro each way no free buses from Ixia only Rhodes Town.

If i was to go to this hotel again (which is very likely) i will go on a bed and breakfast basis as the food served in the pool bar on the bottom floor looked delicious and was very cheap and then eat our on an evening and do the drinks package offered within the hotel.

Ladies take your hair dryers as i didnt think theirs was very powerful however you dont need to take shampoo, conditioner or shower gel or body lotion its all argen products refilled daily. and take your mosquito plugs etcc they got me the first night :(

Overall we had a fantastic holiday very relaxing and will be returning with Family in future!

We had one week here on a B&B special deal from Thomas Cook. The facilities, pools and spa, location, food and staff were perfect. It is overlooking the beautiful Aegean and the distant Turkish coast, ten minute bus ride from Rhodes Town with its fascinating sight seeing and history plus the many boat links and trips. Big choice of eating places are just a few minutes walk away.
It was one of the best places I have stayed - anywhere in the world.
(The only down side was that the indoor pool was a bit drab - but hey, who wants to be inside anyway.)
The hotel would be suitable for business and couples (use the Elite Suites), very family friendly and we also met solo guests.

Room Tip: Front sea view rooms overlook the busy main road to Rhodes Town but face setting sun. You can have...

Stayed at the Amathus Beach from May 28th for 2 weeks an d let me tell you it was absolutely fantastic, the food was the best we have ever had at an all inclusive hotel. The staff here are the friendliest we have come across. The hotel manager has got this hotel spot on. We stayed around the roof top pool on the 11th the views were amazing. Our rooms on the 8th floor 805-806 had fantastic views and were spotlessly clean. We have to mention Dimitris who showed us to our table for breakfast and evening meals she was absolutely fantastic and a real credit to the Amathus Beach. The deputy Manager and his Service Managers also need a big mention they maid our stay a wonderful experience. Please don't listen to the negative reviews because this hotel and staff tick all the boxes and we will be going back next year to meet up with them again. Well done the Amathus Beach for making our stay truly fantastic.

Room Tip: 805-806 on the 8th floor fantastic views

Me and hubby spent two weeks at this hotel last year and loved it so much, that we decided to return again this year, but with friends this time. The Hotel was just as lovely as we remembered. The food choices are excellent and the Hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was our friends' Wedding Anniversary whilst we were there and the Hotel provided a bottle of bubbly in their room and at the a la carte evening, they produced yet another bottle of bubbly and a cake with 'Happy Anniversary' on it; all of which were complimentary. The views overlooking the sea from the restaurant were as breathtaking as before. Each evening, we came back to our room to find sweets on our pillow and 'sweet dreams/good morning' mats on the floor next to our beds. Apparently, this was because we were return visitors and was such a thoughtful touch. Our friends gave it 11 out of 10 and I have to agree. Would thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: Even though we didn't request it, on both our visits, we were given a room with a sea view. Thi...

We just came back from a family holiday at this beautiful hotel, and it was the best hotel experience we have ever had. Firstly, the staff in this hotel are professional, friendly, and the most helpful and lovely we have ever come across, nothing is too much trouble and they are attentive and informative. We were really looked after at this hotel and it was my father-in-law's 80th birthday while we were in Rhodes and they made him feel so special. They organised a cake and sang Happy Birthday in the restaurant, and made sure that we had a large table for the occasion. The restaurant management staff are incredible, it was an absolute pleasure to stay at this wonderful hotel. The whole establishment is spotless, rooms cleaned every day to an incredible standard and the cleaning staff always polite and friendly. The views from the hotel are also wonderful - good views of the coast of Turkey on a clear day. The hotel caters for all, so many facilities and an array of food and drinks choice. We booked on a premium all inclusive package and it was like being a member of an exclusive club. The choice was great. The food in the hotel was always fresh and well presented, plenty of choice for all and the restaurant has lovely views and a great ambiance. The staff are faultless and the hotel in general, perfect. We had a family room with an incredible terrace and lovely bathrooms. The balcony was enormous, lovely views of the beach and just a lovely experience. Words cannot express what a wonderful holiday we had and we can't wait to go back next year. It is a truly luxurious experience. You have the option of paying an additional 15 euros to use the exclusive spa and it is well worth it. A really relaxing experience. The free facilities are also amazing, lots of choice of pools and sun lounger, never an issue to get a spot. The pool terrace on the 11th floor is lovely, catering also for al fresco dining if you reserve with the hotel. The evenings were great, the 11th floor cocktail terrace is lovely with balconies looking over the beach and wonderful sunsets. The entertainment was good - the first night we had Greek folk dancing which was excellent, of a fantastic standard and a great atmosphere. We had so much fun. This was our first experience of staying in Rhodes and we would not stay anywhere else. The hotel is of an impeccable standard and faultless. Be sure to book your next holiday here for a truly relaxing and luxurious break. Thank you Amathus for a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Room Tip: The hotel offers an excellent choice of rooms, mountain views and also sea views, both are equally n...

I stayed at the Amathus Beach Hotel last week with my partner and we had the most perfect week. This hotel definitely lives up to it's 5 star rating! Firstly, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful- I did not come across one member of staff who was unfriendly. We had a mountain view double room which was very spacious, extremely clean and the room cleaning every day was very good.

We stayed under an All Inclusive package (they call it a premium package at the hotel)- this entitled us to breakfast and dinner at the 10th floor- which was a buffet every day. The buffet was extremely good- almost too much choice- lots of different amazing meats, fresh fish, endless salad, potatoes, a different pasta dish every night. There really is something for everyone. The breakfast was especially good- something we looked forward to every day! They do full english breakfast, freshly cooked pancakes, cereal, toast, pastries, cakes- everything! The All Inclusive also entitles you to lunch on the 11th floor at the pool deck restaurant which is also a buffet and also very very good. Ice creams are available all day with lots of toppings- highly recommend. We were also entitled to one a la carte meal on the 11th floor for dinner, which was incredible- 5 courses and wine- all so delicious!!!
Many alcoholic drinks are also included and are marked on the menu with PP next to them, which means they are free. Some drinks included; pina coladas, margaritas, gin and tonic, wine, beer etc etc etc. They can make you nearly any drink you can think of and nearly all are free!

The pools are amazing- we spent most of our time on the 11th floor roof top pool- very nice and quiet and sun loungers were always available. We were surprised at this as the hotel is so big and there were many guests, but it never felt busy or crowded. We never had to wait in line for any food etc. Everything was just effortless and easy. Fresh towels are available every day- as many as you like- as long as you return dirty ones!

The hotel all in all was very modern and fashionable- sun loungers were nice, all seating areas very posh- not your typically european hotel! It really is very luxurious. The hotel is also very near to the Old Town, which is beautiful, and very near the airport.

I'd also recommend the jet skiing at Windsurfers World, right outside the hotel on the beach- so much fun and they are very helpful and friendly!

Needless to say, we have a perfect week away and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone- but do go All Inclusive- it's worth it!!

Thank you, Amathus, for the best week away :)

Room Tip: We went for a mountain view room, which was lovely but we did get a glimpse of the sea view rooms wh...

We travelled as a family, 2 adults and an 8 year old. Starting with the positives - the food was excellent, the pool areas excellent and safe for toddlers as there is a gentle slope into the main pool. All staff are very freindly & helpful of particular note would be the Rodian bar staff who work their nutts of to make drinks. The public areas are very clean and their is a decent shop within the hotel. The view from our large balcony which had a table with 4 chairs & 2 sunloungers was stunning. Good to see dress standards for meals are executed and there are no DHSS that frequent this hotel! The hotel has a very good spa and gym facilites, the steam room one of the hottest & best i've been in.....

The negative aspects for us were - the room did not meet our expectations, was turned up at the corners and unfinished in certain areas. The room was on a split level with extremley steep stairs and the handrail too low on one side and no rail on the other. I would for certain ask the decorator to return and make the lines neater & straighter rather than painting over everything. The steel ballustrade is also an eye sore. The room was allegedly cleaned daily but not to high standards, rather a quick bed make and towel change. There is an excellent method of getting drinks, basically the staff will take your order, be that at your sun lounger or at night in the bar area however, trying to get tipsy is almost impossible - on more than 1 occasion we had to wait over 25 mins to get an order taken and then a further 15 mins to get the drink!! - either not enough staff or they are limiting the all inclusive expenditure. A great concept let down......

The entertainment was at best mediocre but then there was only 2 entertainment staff on for the whole hotel - they tried their best. I would say although great pool areas suitable for children the hotel is not a great one for children to be at with limited activites.

All in all an ok Hotel, not 5 star because of the rooms & drink service but does have a potential.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view or an elite suite.
