Never having been to Greece before I was a bit dubious on the journey from the airport, a few shut down / half built neglected hotels, but was very pleased to arrive at The Grand, lovely reception area very fast check in, good bedroom quite a long walk but it is a big hotel. Lovely gardens round the back pool and a nice unexpected front pool also, both exceptionally clean.
All the food was excellent and very plentiful, buffet style, the dining room did get full at times but there were never more then 2 or 3 people in front of you as It was all very spread out.
The dining room was spoilt by one thing only -- other guests who wore shorts / t shirts when it clearly stated NO SHORTS , and do people not know it is rude to eat with your " HAT ON ".
Yes it could do with a lick of paint but knowing the state the country is in they have better things to spend their money on.
With all our shopping we certainly but some money back into their economy!!
Would I go again --YES.

My wife and i have just returned from a seven day break at this hotel, it was our first visit to Rhodes and very enjoyable too,i can only speak as i find,we stayed in room 275 on the 2nd floor overlooking both the pool area and a sea view which we had requested. The room was a very good size and pleasantly decorated as was the bathroom. The room was very clean and again so was the bathroom, only once did we go to reserve poolside loungers but this wasnt really needed, allthough towards the end more people were around the pool area and would probably have more trouble as the holiday season goes on.The main issue we had was having to queue to get into the resteraunt at breakfast and evenig meal ,once in it didnt look like a canteen but standing in a queue did bring back memories. The food was typical ,lots of salads and cold meats the hot choice was basic but a lot of Pork or Chicken ,but to be honest it was not heavily populated with Brits and you are abroad, so you may not like it too much but we didnt starve, we were half board so had to use the main bar as the bar for all inclusive would not sell not even an ice cream which i felt was stupid as there was nowhere else in the hotel to purchase. I have read travellers comments before we booked and also since we returned, i,m not going to say some didnt have issues i can only say i would reccomend this hotel based on our findings.

Room Tip: dont unpack until you check your room ,then if there is a problem you stand a chance to change befor...

Well having just come back from this hotel here are some true andd factual things about it. Firstly when we arrived after paying for a sea view we found we had been given the room. The only problem was we had to step on tip toe to see the sea over the facade of the hotel. Secondly the room was def not 4 star or oven 2/3. The bathroom was damaged and dirty and after speaking to the rep and reception they offered to move us 2 days later. This was a much better room so quiet pleased. However the food!!! Okay if you like pork which seemed to be on the menu every night followed by chicken wings. There was of course salads plus but not too apertising. The sweets were quite good as well as some nice fruit to go with it. Fried breakfast however seemed to be burnt fried eggs, burnt bacon and homemade pancakes. Again with some salads if you like that for breakfast. As this hotel is part all inclusive there seemed to be a divide of people with the all inclusive saying that their drinks were not quite the ticket but if they went to the main bar and paid for their drinks then they were def a different quality. I cannot comment on that as we opted out of all inclusive. Outside there was not enough bed chairs/umbrella,s and my husband had to ge up at 7am every morn to make sure he got me one, because we quickly found that if you left it until say 8 to 8.30 then you would not get a seat. Hotel should make a descision that you cannot save bed chairs until say after 9am. Not much entertainment of a night and hotel was so understaffed that they could not spend too much time chatting either. Good points were hotel very close to beach (very pebbly) close to shops , 5 euro taxi ride to Old Town which was exceptional and well worth visiting day and night. Bus stops outside but hotel staff did not seem to know where these went to!!!! All in all would def visit Rhodes again but def not to any Mitsi Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 407 on the fourth floor with sea view

I always think people only write reviews if they have something bad to say so I thought I would applaud this hotel. After reading some bad reviews I began to worry about the hotel we was visiting, after arriving we were given are room key and left to find are room (fine by us). We had paid for a sea view so as soon as we entered are room we went to check the view! Unfortunately we was on the 1st floor one which the view was only visible if u could either see through the roof of the bar below or was 7ft, as we had paid for a sea view we mentioned it to reception straight away. They told us we could move in the morning and are stuff would be moved for us! When we got are new room key we went straight to the window to find an amazing sea view!! We have eaten in the hotel everyday as the food has been fab! There was something for everyone, as a fussy eater I managed to find something every meal! Iv now learnt to ignore the negative reviews and experience for myself me and my partner loved every minute! We also visited the lovely old town frequently! Overall this has been an amazing holiday and would definitely return! Age 23-26

STAFF - friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful.
FOOD - while the fish wasn't great, everything else was. Huge variety, very fresh vegetables and salad, great breads. Plenty of choice, even for vegetarians. The acoustics in the restaurants were not great; it was a bit noisy, but nevertheless we enjoyed it.
ROOM - The air conditioner worked perfectly and quietly, and we had a nice breeze. There were TV channels in a variety of languages. The hot water came immediately and was easy to adjust. The room itself (furnishings, size) was like other hotel rooms, neither better nor worse.
LOCATION - across from the sea, about 5 minutes from the old city or a 20 minute walk, with cafes and stores along the route, and plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment 2 minutes away.

Room Tip: If you can afford the sea view, go for it. We were on a deal so we had neither a sea nor pool view...

myself and partner have just returned from a holiday in Rhodes.when we arrived at the hotel we we checked in and were told to go to the restaurant and there would be a small meal waiting for us. then go to our room. if there were any problems report them to the reception in the morning. because it was now 12 o'clock in the evening.so the next morning we reported that the room was not good enough.and that the sink in the bathroom would not drain.they said they would deal with it.so we had breakfast then went out to the old town. when we got back to the room on the afternoon. the sink was still the same. and the room was not. cleaned.so we went back to reception. and told them we want to see the manager. so we did see the manager and he told us he would make sure the room was cleaned every morning.and there would be a free bottle of wine put in our room.and they did. he said he would find us another room in a couple of days but we decided to stay in that room because we were only there for a week. then more problems we were half board when we went for our evening meal.i asked for a beer and a medium white wine.the waiter said we could not have a medium white wine by the glass we would have to buy a bottle. so I called over the dining room manager and he told the waiter to go and get what I ordered. so he did .and apologized to us. but the same problem continued for the rest of the week. so on the last night we decided to go out for a meal in the town. witch was good.be aware there are 16 rooms at the back of the hotel with no views only looking at a brick wall and a roof with wires every where I think the hotel needs to be knocked down and rebuilt very dated and no way a 5***** star more like a 2** star I would not recommend going all inclusive. for what Ive seen you have to go and get your own drinks from the bar. and there is no entertainment.better to go to butlins if you want to go to lindos get a taxi to the bus station for 5 euros and 5 euros one way to lindos on a air conditioned bus it takes 1 hour and you can spend more time there than if you were on a couch tour.

Room Tip: make sure you book a sea view room
