I have family in Rhodes and have stayed in many hotels in Greece, this is by far the best yet, deserves 5 stars. We went all inclusive and where not let down, beautiful decorated rooms done in Greek style throughout and very large, maid service daily, food was delicious, well stocked bar.we stayed in room 355 situated at the corner with side view of the sea and hotel, noise levels from the road where minimum. Excellent location for the old town and within walking distance for shops and eating out. We also recieved a bottle of wine and a tray of fruit on arrival plus a basket of bread and chocolates to celebrate Greek Easter the following day. Brilliant would return tomorrow.also had a indoor pool and gym .

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor corner and the room was very spacious and there was very little noise fro...

From arriving to leaving staff friendly and very helpful. Room very clean with excellent sea view. Hotel full as it was Easter holiday - mealtimes a little chaotic but table easily found. Food very good with varied choice, some cooked fresh.

Room Tip: Sea view a must

Dates: 13 April 2013 – 27 April (Travellers: Mum and daughter)

We booked to stay in this hotel as a last minute getaway, but then later read reviews which gave us concerns about our hotel choice....what a load of nonsense though!
We arrived into the ‘grand’ reception and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating, Maria and the girls were very helpful. We managed to upgrade to a sea view room which was worth the additional money and gave us direct views over the sea. There were no problems with the room, it was perfectly pleasant and clean.

We booked the all inclusive option and were pleased that we did, we certainly didn’t feel like second rate citizens as most the life and soul of the evenings were in this bar. There is ample choice of drinks, like many all inclusive bars premium brands are not included, but this wasn’t a problem. The bar staff in the all inclusive bar were excellent, fantastic service by all of them, but a special mention to Panos, George and Effi.

Piano music was played every night by Taggis alternating between the two bars, we really enjoyed the type of music he played which led to people up dancing on most of the nights enjoying themselves. We met a lot of people from different nationalities, a large group of us got together every night to chat and dance which really made the holiday fun. Taggis was great and always happy to take requests and learn new songs.

The food in the restaurant was excellent, with a nice variety of griddled meats, hot meals, cold food, deserts etc. There was also a Chinese and Italian restaurant which in the early season you could book on the day, but when busier you needed to book the day before as they got quite full. The food in the Chinese and Italian was excellent but huge portions and very filing so you need to think carefully about how much you order! The staff in all three restaurants were excellent but special mentions to Kiki and Savas in the Chinese and Poppi in the Italian as they were all fantastic. A great big thanks to Kiki for looking after us every day at breakfast too.
All of the staff work tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly, in tourist season they work seven days a week, every week for seven months across different shifts. It’s really difficult to be happy every day but we certainly thought they did a great job, especially when it started to get busier towards the end of April.

Overall, the hotel is very well placed with close proximity to both the new town, the harbor and the old town. Outside the hotel there is a bus stop for both local buses and tourist buses for sightseeing. Everything is in easy walking distance, even the Acropolis in Rhodes which is not that far to walk. We were really pleased with the choice of hotel, what it offered and it is most definitely value for money. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend it!

Room Tip: Request upgrade to sea view, floor 3 or above Upgrdae to all inclusive - well worth the addiotional...

we where supposed to stay at another hotel but got transfered here. at the first night we got a room with a view of dull buildings, even though we invited a garden view room. thanks to the kind assistent of the staff, we got a much better room at the next day.
it's not a five star hotel like you could find in the city of eilat, but it located near the harbour and the old city, which is excellent, it has a very good buffet for half-board guests, and, it also offers very nice italian or Chinese restaurants - you just need to book yourself a day in advanse.
there are many rental car dealerships around, and if you'ld like to take the public bus, the central bus stop is only 10 min. walking from the hotel.
the hotel has a very nice garden with a swimming pool, and also has another pool in the front.
the lobby is elegant and there's a free wi-fi service there.

Stayed here the beginning of April 2013 - have to say it wasn't the hotel we were originally meant to be staying in. Sounds like many people had the same issue and considering we hadn't booked through a tour operator made an interesting surprise when we turned up at our original hotel to find it wasn't open! Not a great start.........

Having said that, the hotel has a brilliant first impression and certainly dispelled the reservations we had finding our original hotel closed. I must admit while the hotel itself is very imposing, the reception staff were quite abrupt and sometimes a little rude. Thankfully these attitudes don't carry through all the staff in the hotel - the all inclusive bar staff and those in the restaurant keep up the high standards which are presented by the hotel. Personally, I found the reception staff to be quite unhelpful at times (especially asking about local information) and we were also told on arrival the safe box key was a deposit fee but was refused a refund on departure.

Hotel rooms are spacious and extremely clean, we stayed in a room with key card access which proved problematic at a number of times when the card refused to scan and wouldn't let us in to our room. Have no problems with the room itself, plenty of storage space for clothes, comfortable and clean beds and a room cleaning service everyday so no complaints on that front. Just a word to those who appreciate an early night, if you get allocated a room on the rear of the hotel (overlooking the outside pool and bar patio) then you might want to request being moved somewhere quieter, as the night before we came home we wanted an early night but the music and noise coming from the bar was rather off putting.

Many people often complain about all inclusive food because they say it lacks the quality of hotels where you'd pay for your evening meals. Again, this is not a problem at the Mitsis Grand - food is top notch and there is plenty of choice for even the fussiest of eaters. There is also a Chinese and Italian restaurant which you can choose from at no extra cost which made a nice change from the normal evening buffet. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is the portion size in the Chinese - you can choose up to three dishes from the menu which are all brought out in one go, the amount of food wastage being sent back on the night we ate here was incredible!
Meals are served in the main restaurant three times a day with small snacks and ice cream in the all inclusive bar to fill the gaps in between.

Can't really fault the location of the hotel either - close to the main bar street for those who appreciate a bit of night life, a short walk to the harbour, casino and old town and a choice of beaches surround the hotel.

All in all a really great hotel to stay at - just knocked the occasional point off for the unfriendliness of reception staff (although others have disagreed) and for it not quite being ready and having workmen appearing at times finishing off jobs for the height of the season. I dare say if I'd gone during the Summer months then this may have reached a 5 star review. Well worth the money we paid for it as we only paid the Mitsis Petit Palais prices so can't really say whether it is truly value for money as we met a couple who had paid double what we had for a week?

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the rear pool will be noisier during the evenings

I visited the grand during the last week in April with my wife .I have stayed at the hotel an four previous occasions but this was our first time all inclusive here .I had initial reservations as, after all, the Grand is the Grand and I d never have thought that it would go the all inclusive route but such is the pressure from tour operators, I m told.
Any way I needn't have worried; the standards were as excellent as I remembered them ; the food was plentiful and well prepared and the staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly , particularly considering the economic plight of Greece and the austerity measures imposed on its people.
Everything was carried out efficiently from the check in to the check out.How the bar staff at the all inclusive bar managed to cope with the demands on their resources was a tribute to their dedication; I can' t praise them enough There was even light entertainment on some evenings that helped create a very relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere on the terrace that I have to say had not been evident on my previous visits.
All in all i can't recommend it highly enough and plan on returning in a few weeks .

Room Tip: The sea facing rooms have unparalelled views and are worth paying extra

Should have stayed in La Vita but it was closed so we were upgraded to the Grand. Nice surprise, really looked after us, 1st room they gave us was facing a brick wall so we asked to change and they did it no problem. Food was excellent, lovely chef, nice staff. Reception were super and gave very personal service. We had to move out of the Grand half way through our second week to the Petit Palais which was excellent, see other review. Company we used was Travelzoo and couldn't beat it for value. came home yesterday nice and brown and very happy.
