We entered this place purely by chance. I was starving and it was so hot day in Rhodes that we were looking for some place where it would be not too hot to eat. Montage Food Cafe has a location with big open wall to the Windy Beach side (Akti Miaouli street) and an entrance from the Orfanidou street. So the sweet seawind will blow through the whole Cafe and keeps You cool. :)
The interior and the atmosphere of the place was a some kind of weird mixture of 1950's burger place with Marilyn Monroe pictures, hotel lounge with copies of Picasso graphics and a disco club with red plush sofas. But weird in a good way.
Restaurant's kitchen is open type with a thick glass around the cooking area, probably due the hygiene reasons. It also looked clean with a fast glance. We were sitting on a corner with no straight eyesight to the kitchen so we didn't see the food preparation.
Sevice was polite and friendly, maybe even a bit shy and reticent. Nothing big to complain about though. About the menu, then. Dishes were an international cross-citchen style, a bit pricey compared to other restaurants nearby. I took the Agnus burger with chips, or something like that. As mentioned before I was starving to death and tried to find something BIG...my wife took chicken wrap's with salad. Food took quite long to arrive. The plate's looked nice, the size of the portions were from medium to big and the taste was ok. No big success but not a disaster either.
Conclusion: I felt that this is a place meant mainly for sipping cosmopolitans and the food does not play the main role here. It is eatable allright. The place is clean and modern, especially the toilets were big positive suprise.
