My wife and I were visiting Rhodes in the off season and there were very few restaurants that were open. One day we found this one for an early dinner. It had great décor and we loved the cats outside (we're cat people).
The owner (or manager) offered to cook us a special meal not on the menu. We were foolish enough not to ask the price. I don't know if they were trying to make up for the slow season or what but we ended up paying over 150 euros without the tip for the two of us. To say that this was the most expensive meal we had in Greece is a huge understatement. They saw us coming and really fleeced us. We pay that much for extremely fine dining at home (which this was not) and compared to what we paid everywhere else in Greece (including actual fine dining establishments) the price we were charged was way out of line. 40 Euros for both of us was much more common at this level of establishment.
The food was actually pretty good and the waiter looked pretty embarrassed about what we were being charged. If you ever go to this restaurant make sure you know what they are planning on charging you before you order. Otherwise you may find yourself paying some rather "special" pricing.
