“Average hotel in beautiful Rhodes”
Reviewed September 16, 2010

Stayed at the Ibiscus hotel for 2 weeks with my family for the second time in Rhodes. The location was good for the beaches and both towns. The hotel was clean room service was very good, beds ok.
The food in the restaurant was average you had to go down early to get the best food otherwise it was cold at times. I found a piece of wood in my chicken one evening, spoke with the manager who was not very apologetic regarding the incident and this put me off eating there for the last few nights of our stay. The restaurant staff seemed to be under a hypnotic trance and were not very friendly compared to staff at the Blue Sky Hotel.

Stayed at this hotel in sept 2009 and june 2010. both times were really good, the rooms although very basic are large and comfortable, the food quality is possibly the best we have ever had and the service is very good, although there is only a plunge pool its not a problem as there are two beaches either side. we use to jump a bus down to Falaraki because they are sandy which is much better.would not hesitate using this hotel again.

We stayed at the Ibiscus for a week in late August and we cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we found the service first class. To the front of the hotel there is an open air bar and the airy reception area has lots of comfy seating areas. The small pool area is lovely . Our large bedroom with a fabulous balcony overlooked the square to the side of the hotel - lots to watch and glorious sunshine from late afternoon. We opted for half board - big plus! The food was excellent, served buffet style with a good selection at dinner and a daily special cooked to order from the display kitchen. Honey soaked cake/baklava was availbale every night as one selection on the dessert table - what a treat!! We never had to wait for a table at either breakfast or dinner due to the extremely efficient Maitre d' and the great restaurant staff. The whole hotel was immaculately clean - fresh bedlinen and towels daily!! Great, but stony, beach across the road from the hotel. 5 minutes walk to a huge selection of tavernas and shops and the New Town, 10 minutes walk to Mandraki harbour for day trip boats to Lindos, Marmaris and Symi and 15 minutes walk to the Old Town. What more could anyone want? All in all, great location, great hotel, great food, great service!!

I stayed at Ibiscus for 7 nights. It has the best location, from what I've seen. Very close to a nice beach at the Mediteranean Sea and at a short walk to the old town and to the new town as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful, food was very good (Kostas and Michalis were very nice and funny). The room was big enough for 3 people and very clean. If you go to Rhodes, you must stay at Ibiscus. You won't regret!!

Stayed here for a quick week and regretted not making it a fortnight. The hotel is very central almost adjacent to the casino and about 5 mins walk from the old town and the harbour. The hotel itself is excellent very clean and well run,the restaurant food is excellent run by Mr Nikos who is very pleasant and very good at his job.The beach is at the front door and a bus service right outside as well.I take great pleasure in recommending this hotel to all who wish a nice problem free holiday.Being in Rhodes town it is central for any day tours you may wish to take part in like to Marmaris Symi and other more local tours, take my advice you will not regret it.

I stayed at the Ibiscus for 6 nights in July. I can't say enough about how wonderful my stay was. The hotel is in a great location, near the old town, mandraki, and directly across the street from the beach.
The rooms are on the older side, but that said they are very comfortable and kept very clean. The refridgerator was useful for my snacks and to jeep water in.
The lobby area and bar are also nice. I enjoyed having and afternoon frappé outside on the comfy chairs.
The breakfasts and dinner I had were excellent. The attention that the staff give is top notch. The food was fantastic and there were always many choices. I looked foward to my meals every day and found that the hours were great too.
Even though I was staying alone, I felt very safe. The hotel was nice and quiet at night which was nice.
My stay was wonderful and I will most definately be staying again next summer when I visit Rhodes.

Stayed here for 11 nights June 12th-23rd. Hotel is ideally located for both new & old towns, and beaches. Beach at the back of the hotel-west beach-was windier than the east beach at the front, but the east beach was SO packed every day that we only went there one day and preferred the far emptier west beach. OK you get a sea breeze but there was only 1 day when this was too much and we had to retreat to the hotel pool.

The hotel pool is in the central courtyard & so is surrounded by the buidling on all sides. This means that no beds are in the sun for more than a few hours, so be prepared for a short stay if you want to get a tan. Also the amount of chlorine in the pool seemed very high. Luckily there were only a few chilren in the hotel as it is not suited at all to families. It would be good if they were to go completely adults only .
The bar at the front of the hotel is perfect for a drink in the shade although the coaches stopping outside at the end of the day & parking there for half an hour completely blocked the view of the sea.
The interior of the hotel is spotlessly clean & all public areas are modern and fresh. The bedroom was clean but dated . We had a room at the back of the hotel on floor 5 and had wonderful sea views contrary to an earlier review which said you only had seaviews at the front. The back rooms also get the afternoon sun and the sunsets .

Breakfast was excellent with cooked items, fruit, cereals etc, adn dining room bright and welcoming. The reception staff were most helpful and arranged car hire for us for a much better price than Thomson.

Rhodes town itself is a delight, and the old town is full of charm. Make sure you wander through all the little back streets as you find restaurants tucked away, and doughnuts being sold through windows.Lots of museums etc to see, the palace of the grand masters is a must but get there early.

The new town is full of all top shops and there is a whole street selling umbrellas!
The weather was perfect- about 33-40 degrees so was lovely nd warm at night.
If you have never been to Rhodes before then we would highly recommend this hotel.
