In 5 weeks time we will be going back to the Hotel Esperia for the 3rd time in 3 years. We find the hotel, small, friendly, very clean and the staff helpful. There is a small pool area which is sheltered and walled so we prefer going to the beach as it is a bit cooler in the summer months.

The Esperia is situated in a prime location the both the old town and the beaches and although not luxurious, its ideal if you want to be within walking distance of everything. The rooms are lovely and clean and have an added bonus of free air con and a fridge. The bathrooms are however very small, but how long do you actually spend in there whilst on holiday??? Although situated in the town, it is surprisingly quiet at night, especially if you have a room over looking the pool.

If you want a 5* luxury hotel I suggest you pay 5* prices and go for the Mitsis Grand which is nearby and overlooks the beach.

This is not the hotel to stay in for your romantic greek island holiday, but it is a good value for a short stay in the town. We spent two nights to see the old town & take a day trip to lindos & it was ok, very basic. the staff were nice enough to let us check in early. The room was very clean. There is a pool, but while it looked clean & pool area was just unappealing concrete & we didn't bother. The location is good, a busy area, near restaurants & shops, felt reasonably safe, & walking distance to the old harbor & Old town. Breakfast was nothing special.

stayaway, pls pls don't bother.
we live in australia, and did a round the world last year. we booked this hotel thro cosmos [ a large uk] package tour company, on the internet/ we were arranging to meet friends from the uk for a joint celebration and they tried to get the same hotel but were booking thro another company called kosmar, they were unable to and booked a similar price hotel nearby. on our arrival we were shown to this room, cigarette burns for all to see on the top blanket, a strange smell, and such a dilapidated bathroom, we asked to see another room, we were shown one slightly better. after one night we moved out, the bathroom shower head didn't work so the whole of the bathroom and bedroom was paddling in water, the shower measured about three quarters of a metre square, so the shower curtain was stuck to you the whole time!!!!! the breakfast was very very ordinary. we walked around the corner to the mitsis grand hotel for the remainder of the l3 nights for a lovely holiday. the cosmos rep didn't want to know, we spoke to our friends kosmar rep who said that her company had received so many complaints, they had deleted it. our friends hotel, the annapolis, same star rating and price as the esperia was v good too. we are people who have at least 6 holidays a year, and so we will never recommend the esperia hotel to anyone. by the way we were also informed that there are much better rooms, which are given to scandinavians and germans!!!! val massey, brisbane australia

The Esperia is a good value and in a good location in New Town. The rooms are very modest and small. The shower was very small. The entry is nice and the bar is relaxing to sit and people watch. There is a small pool however we never used it. Since our room did not have a balcony they gave us a better price. It was perfect because we were only in the room to sleep. The front staff and wait staff are friendly and accomodating. It is a short walk to the beach and lots of restaurants and shops are within walking distance. We would stay here again especially if on a budget.
