My partner and I have just returned from a week stay at the Platinum. Wow what a gorgeous new hotel. I really would be scoring this hotel 5 out of 5, but unfortunately I am scoring it 4 out of 5 due to the bad start. We booked through Olympic and decided to treat ourselves to a deluxe junior suite. Due to a flight delay we arrived 5 hours late, early sun morning. We were given just a twin room. We tried to explain the error to the porter, who rang reception but we were told to go back later in the day to speak to reservations. We tried to sleep but we were so disappointed as we were expecting a suite, we felt short changed - altough the twin room was lovely this is not what we had paid for. At 9am we went back down and tried to sort it, but then had to return at 12pm, we were then given a room 2 doors down, which was exactly the same but had a small ancillary room with two unmade single beds - totally pointless for our needs. At no time was there any manager who was willing to take some ownership of the problem or at least an apology. Back down to reception we went, and after actually drawing a picture of what is on the website, we were told the junior suites were not in use due to a fault with the jacuzzis. Finally at 1pm we were given 611 which has a private splash pool. Yes on the outset this seemed a fair compromise, and we stayed there for the rest of the week. However this room only gets sun after 4pm so the pool was freezing and impossible to use, and you could not sunbathe. Due to the layout you can only see the sea if you stand up on the pool steps or get in the pool. Again this was a twin room, twice we asked the maid to fit a double sheet but this never happened. A 4th change of room we did not want to do so just got on with the holiday. Even though we were really disappointed to not get our lounge area in the suite.
Do not let my room problem put you off, as this on the whole is a fantastic hotel. The indoor spa is amazing, and we had tried some of the treatments which were first class. The steam room is the best i have ever seen. A very relaxing experience. Likewise is the outdoor pool area, the hotel only had about 100 guests so it was always very quiet around the pool.
The best part of our stay for us was the restaurant for breakfast and the evening buffet. the standard of food is excellent, i do recommend going half board. the whole dining experience was fantastic, a big well done to our lovely server Marketa who was always so professional and polite. The only thing we didnt like was the welcome off the maitre-d, it was a little insincere, insisting on shaking your hand entering and leaving got a bit much 4 times a day.
The food at the poolside restaurant at lunch is also very good.
As you can tell i expect high standards, and my only other small problem was that the bedroom housekeeping was not 5 star, the bathroom surfaces were not wiped daily and neither was the floor, twice we came back to no towels at all and we only got a turndown service once!!
On the whole i would recommend this hotel, it also would be nice if the hotel could run a complimentary minibus service to rhodes town, as Ixia resort is a bit rubbish. I wish the hotel well and I hope my comments are looked into, so that other future guests have their expectations met.

Dear valued Guest,

Thank you for visiting Trip Advisor. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for taking your time and write your positive comments.

It is always a great pleasure to receive feedback from satisfied guest. Our goal is to exceed our guests' expectations at every opportunity; such comments are very valuable for our team as they represent a very important tool of measuring our performance and improving our level of services where necessary.

I would very much like to take the opportunity to apologize for the experience you have might up on your arrival regarding the service of our staff as well as for having received the incorrect room type. The final room type which you have received was an Executive Family Room with Sea View and Private Pool, which surely was an upgrade to the originally booked Junior Suite. If you would have liked a room with a separate living room area, you have to book a Superior Suite, but even then the Executive Family Room with Sea View and Private Pool is an upgrade size & value wise.

The entire team of the Atrium Platinum put a lot of effort to maintain the highest standards of service and to let our guests feel most valued and genuinely cared for. It is great to receive your sincere recognition.

We hope that you will consider visiting us again very soon and we wish you all the best in the mean time. Thanks again for your great review - we appreciate feedback both positive and constructive. But of course we love when a guest takes a moment to sing our praises on TripAdvsor!

Kind Regards

What a holiday and what a hotel!
We loved our vacation in rhodes and a major cause was the platinum hotel, a brand new excellent hotel opened just 5 months.
excellent outdoors and indoors pools, best jaccuzi jets of all kinds, most efficient lovely staff at all positions and wonderful cuisine.
Many many thanks to mr. Christos, the maitre-d, for his professional and kind attitude, he has chosen best dining hall and pool bars crew one can think of, always smiling, always helpful and passiant.
Rooms are most specious ank bright clean, lovely beds and linen, all rooms are sea viewed and pleasant.
We'll defenately be most happy to come again!

I cannot praise this hotel enough. It is brand new, only opening in June 2011 and it is beautifully designed, stylish, contemporary and immaculate. Back home now and I’m still dreaming of our room… The opening offer rates were very reasonable so we went for a deluxe sea-view room with patio and private pool and I have never enjoyed a sunshine holiday more. Just amazing. The room was spacious and modern. Minor criticism was that despite our request for a double bed on entering the room it had two single beds. This was promptly sorted out by binding them with a king sized sheet, not as good as a double, but despite this it was still one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. The bathroom was very nice with separate shower, double sinks and a large Jacuzzi bath. As for the outdoor area, I don’t know how I’m going to go back to ordinary hotels now having experienced being this pampered! We were able to sunbathe (sunbeds provided) all afternoon with a view of the Agean sea and our own private plunge pool to cool off in. It was the height of luxury and all beautifully maintained. It is still very difficult to come back down to earth having experienced a holiday like this!
Some of the hotel was shut, but this did not lessen the experience as a guest, if anything, being a couple in our 30s holidaying with no children the peace this provided was very welcome. There were no building noises nor were any of the aesthetics of this beautiful hotel spoiled by having part of it shut. All restaurants, pools, mini market, gym etc were open. All areas were kept beautifully clean and the décor of all the public areas and the pool areas are stunning. Although the hotel is brand new, it is clearly managed by an extremely experienced team.
We don’t eat breakfast so can’t comment on food at breakfast but had room service, a couple of lunches and an evening meal in the pool restaurant where we found the food to be excellent and the staff were very professional and friendly.
I must say a big thank you to Housekeeping who were so attentive. Due to the fact we were able to sunbathe and use the plunge pool without having to leave our room, we often had our do not disturb light on, but no sooner did we turn this off Housekeeping would arrive and clean our room and give us fresh new linen. They were very friendly and obliging, first class.
We would also like to thank Katja in Guest Relations and her colleagues who made it possible for us to keep our room until 6pm on our final day for a very reasonable nominal fee. We had a night flight and to get to enjoy our little bit of paradise outside our room for our last day was so appreciated. Also, a lovely gesture to get fresh fruit and red wine on two occasions (we extended our stay by a week and were very kindly given the benefit of being a new guest for our second week).
This was our fifth visit to Rhodes as we love this island and its lovely warm hospitable people. Our last visit was in the Sheraton at Ixia which we found very disappointing and were not keen to stay there again so we are delighted to have found a first class luxury hotel in Ixia. We will definitely be back.
P.S. I will review separately but Le Gourmet is an amazing restaurant about a 20 min walk from the hotel. Other places worth looking at are Ideal Café – doesn’t look fancy but lovely homemade food. Plus Luna Bar further up the strip is a great bar (all are a walk to the left of the hotel once you’re on street level). Yanni’s bar just by the entrance to the hotel at street level is great – amazing mojitos!!
Rhodes Old Town is fantastic, either a 30-40 min walk or a flat fee of 8 euros from the hotel – same price coming back – even if it’s very late!
