I was unsure as to whether this was a good choice having read some of the reviews but all I can say is I really don't know what expectations people have particularly given the very reasonable price we paid for the large one bedroomed apartment we got. It had two very spacious rooms and a bathroom. It was basic but in my experience, most greek self catering apartments are - the kitchen equipment was no different to anything else I have had in Greece and it was not my intention to make any cordon bleu meals on holiday anyway!. They were cleaned and tidied everyday with new towels and bedding around 3 times each week, can't say better than that!!! The road outside is busy but if you have the windows closed, it certainly did not disturb your sleep; the birds are more likely to do that. It is also the main bus route to Rhodes town and the airport so it is very convenient with the bus stopping outside the appartments. The beach is just down the road and there is a bakery and supermarkets all close to hand. The owners at Anita were friendly and helpful and were quick to deal with any concerns of their guests. There was a lovely pool and free sunbeds and parasols.
All I can say is do not expect what you have at home because you are not at home and you are experiencing a different country with different cultures - you are on holiday - enjoy !!!
HOWEVER - the local restaurants in the immediate area were very poor and overpriced for what you got with Whispers being the poorest- special steak was nothing more than a slice of beef with a thick gravy like sauce and horrid rubbery frozen veg. We asked "Dad" at Anita to recommend where they ate and he told us of the most amazing restaurant which, although was a bit of a walk, was well worth the effort - Antonis - you must try- you will not go anywhere else. they were wonderful and obliging with the best food all reasonably priced. We chose to walk but it is on the bus route or take a taxi. The walk was actually good as the portions are huge and you need the exercise before bed!!!
All in all, a good holiday. Thanks to Anita apartments and Antonis restaurant - hope to see you both again

My son Joe and I stayed at the Anita apartments from 30th September - 7th October. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to everyone. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped, we had an apartment facing the road with a big balcony. Towels and sheets were changed every other day and the staff could not do enough for us. We had a brilliant breakfast every day and were made to feel really special. We hired a car for two days and toured the island, Anita recommended places to visit which was really helpful and helped us to see places on the island that the people that live there go to. The apartments are really well situated with easy access into Rhodes Old Town and an easy walk to the restaurants and shops of the resort. Anita and her family suggested we go to Antonis restaurant which was brilliant , we went back twice. the pool was clean , lovely and warm and a great place to relax, even the family of kittens were friendly`! A fantastic lace to stay - we will return!!!!

This was rated as a 4 star but it was so basic it should not be more than 2 stars. If you do stay here insist on a room in the buildings overlooking the pool as the one nearest the road is very noisy despite the double glazing. The equipment in the kitchen was minimalist to say the least. 1 standard size electric ring and 1 tiny one that wouldn't have looked out of place on a child's play cooker. However, believe it or not there was a minute saucepan that fitted it although not sure that you could get more than a cup of water in it. There wasn't a toaster, a corkscrew or a drying rack. The towels were old, thin and sometimes stained. The beds were hard and the pillow felt like a brick and was it my imagination that I seemed to scratch a lot and had rather too many bites to blame it totally on the mossies? Cleanliness was hit and miss and although it was supposed to be cleaned every day, they only seemed to empty the bins. The floors were swept eventually when they couldn't fail to see the piles of sand and dust that were mounting up. (Would have done it ourselves but no broom, dustpan and brush or mop). The staff varied between downright miserable and unhelpful to polite. We would not go back to this place and wouldn't recommend it.

We had a really nice stay at the Anita Apart Hotel . It was quiet and relaxing . Rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and could not do enough for you . This is a family run hotel . Try and learn very basic Greek . The Greeks like to see you making some effort .

Yes it is basic but the rooms are large and clean, the towels and sheets are changed every other day.You get a kettle a 2 ring electric hob , a TV and a fridge with a small freezer compartment.
We had room 202 which had 2 balconies and overlooked the pool area (which was clean and had plenty of sunbeds which looked new to me!)
The staff are friendly and helpful,as far as something to do a 10 minute walk had you in the centre of Ialyssos which a huge selection of shops and restaraunts. The best place to eat is not Whispers the meals are ok at best but its on the main road which is very difficult to cross and the heavy traffic never stops consequently its very noisy.Very convenient for the buses or taxis into Rhodes (4 euro per person)
You don't need a lift it only has 3 floors and the frst floor is basement level anyway. We were at reception level classed as 1st floor.
Overall it is value for money and the area if you are prepared to walk for 10 mins is bustling with plenty of enterainment and best of all we found all the Greek people we met polite and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which overlooks the pool , corner suites are large and sunny
