Amphitryon Boutique Hotel
Ranked #63 of 126 Hotels in Rhodes Town
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, late August 2013.
Despite some earlier reviews, we found this hotel to be an excellent choice. Their biggest asset is their staff, who are very friendly and helpful...especially Nickos who really made us feel welcome from the moment he met us on our first night. The restaurant, reception and cleaning staff were also friendly and efficient. The receptionist even brought a couple of paperback novels in for me, as my kindle broke on my first day there. Lifesaver! :) Thank you xx
The clean, minimalist décor of the hotel was very much to our liking....the pool area and the bar offered a very relaxing atmosphere, especially in the evenings when the pool and lanterns were alight.
Despite there not being many sunbeds around the pool, we always managed to find a spot...it was more than I expected from a town centre hotel.
We stayed on a B&B basis, and found the breakfasts to be very good. Occasionally we had lunch at the hotel, which was reasonably priced and of good quality.
The drinks are little pricey at the hotel bar....which is a shame. I think more people would use the bar in the evenings if the beer prices were reduced in line with other local bars.
The location is excellent...everything on your doorstep!!
Overall a great experience. Our first time in Rhodes, and we will definitely return...and we will definitely stay in this hotel again.

My girlfriend and i stayed for 5 nights at this hotel. Staff were friendly and service efficient, from organising transfers to excellent dinner service. The room was quiet, clean, simply decorated and yet felt luxurious...we loved the remote control air con! The pool was a good size and it was never too busy. Finally, with its city centre location, convenient for both new and old town, the amophytrion proved to be a great destination for a young couple.

I spent two days at the newly renovated Amphitryon hotel. Its location is perfect (at the centre of Rhodes town). The rooms were brand new, tastefully decorated and the prices more than fair. The hotel is still a work in progress, but every day major improvements are made.

However, what makes the big difference is the touch of the operator of the hotel. Despoina is always present and personally oversees everything.

Stayed here for two nights on our visit to Rhodes amazing place very clean pool is great room was nice! Lovely people! Only downside was it was our honeymoon and we had told them in advance but we got a choice of a twin room with a view or a double without! Other than that it was amazing breakfast was great lots of choice and loads of coffee! Staff went out their way to help us book a hotel on santorini ringing up and arranging a transfer! Very much recommended gutted to be moving on as I don't think we will find somewhere as friendly or nice

Stayed at the Amphitryon Boutique Hotel for 7 nights, there are not enough words to describe the quality of this hotel. It was opened in early June 2013 so totally new.
The rooms (we got 2 rooms) are very lovely, the breakfast is very good and varied and the prices are very reasonable! There is a bar and a restaurant around the pool. The decor is minimalist and very tasteful. The staff is so polite, very helpful and try to meet all your needs, really a great hospitality feeling. In addition, the hotel is located near the charming old town of Rhodes and beaches are at 5 minutes walk. It's the place for a relaxing summer holiday on a very nice island, don't hesitate one second to go to!

The location is fine. The hotel is refurbished after being closed for 12 years, which means that beds, matresses, sheets and towels are all new.

The pool is nice, even though some days the sun rests were all occupied. Prices at the ool bar are reasonable, so you can buy water, drinks and food there. Room furniture is minimalist, which is OK for me. Breakfast had a lot of choices, even though about the same every day. As other people have mentioned, the staff is attentive and helpful.

Now to the "could be" part. At least at some floors all the doors have a small space between the door and the floor, meaning that all the noise from the corridor can be heard during the night. People are not so quiet during holiday nights, so they tend to disturb your sleep. The rooms have small monitor size tv-sets with mainly greek channels, one french though.
Internet only by the pool and in the lobby, on two different networks, but the same password. When I wanted to pay what I had charged on the room, I couldn't pay with a card, since the cardterminal was broken. I had to go to an ATM to get cash. The guy at the counter actually tells me that the cardreader has been 2 weeks by the supplier!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool.
