Situated just past the harbour entrance on the north east coast of the island. With in easy walking distance from both the old, and new town. Pebble and sand beach with lots of sunbeds for hire. Very popular and tends to be crowded. The diving platform does tend to attract people who want to sit on on rather than dive or jump off. Windy beach on the north west coast (but only a ten min walk) is a better option.

Not a big fan of beaches with rocks. Very crowded and especially with younger ages, i guess cause if the proximity and easy Access. The beach was not clean, there was a lot of trash and the water was deep, so i do not consider it safe for little kids. It’s a visit though anyone should do, there are beach bars around with music and as i said great people watching spot, have fun!

Thank anysias x

Buy Crocs or water shoes as the rocks and pebbles here can be very unpleasant on bare feet - and flip flops do nothing! If you want more than one umbrella be prepared to get there early. Convenient location but there are so many other better beaches.

Ellie beach is situated on non windy part of the Rhodes town. When someone tell you about public beach you will probably think about dirty and lot of garbage space, but this beach has a blue flag. We were there in June and it was not so crowded and water was so clear, but for my taste cold. There is a surfaces where you can freely put your towel or if you like can daily hire sunbeds. Usual price per sunbed is around 6EUR – out of the season price. Just to highlight, it is not friendly for small children and babies having in mind that there is no natural shade.

very busy beach and its not a sandy one at all. full of rocks and pebbles, making it harder to have a walk. not a pleasant feeling when going in and out of the sea, but water was great and very clean.
all along the beach there are sales people selling all drinks and fruits.
